Chapter 71

Chapter 71
Zac

Shit. Fuck. Damn it all to hell. I leave her alone for barely a few hours and somebody hires a bunch of men to kidnap my woman. And the sad thing was, I had zero clue as to who actually did it.

My fists now clenching and unclenching when sitting within the car. Sam’s car racing along the streets. Sam now heading in the last known location of were Alyssia was prior to her cellphone  going dead. My thoughts still upon hers.

Alyssia. My woman. And the mother of my child.

Hold on baby, I’ll find you, promise. Sam silently cursing when a car instantly cuts him off. “ASSHOLE!” yells Sam before giving the horn. Our car soon stopping in where Alyssia was last seen. My body quick in leaving the car before scanning the area.

“Alyssia? Baby? Are you here?”

My eyes quick in spotting the alley in which I then move to enter. Yet, before I’m able to take even a single step further do I accidentally step on something solid. My foot quick to move, in which has me looking down only to spot Alyssia’s cellphone.

A phone she was meant to carry at all times now laid broken upon the ground. A phone in which I slowly reach down and pick up. My eyes never once wavering from the now broken device.  “Damn it!” I yell. A piece of me ready to smash the phone even more only to pause when hearing a voice. The voice female.

“SAM! ZAC!”

Sam and I both quick to turn only to spot Annabel. Annabel currently running in the direction of us. Her face pale and one who looked genuinely frightened as she continues to run. Sam soon quick in swooping her up once Annabel was close enough to grab.

“Gods, baby… you scared me. Are you hurt? Did they touch you?” asks Sam as he starts looking her over.

“No. I’m fine. Honest.”

“Thank the fuck god,” sighs Sam only to then remember me and the fact I still had zero clue about Alyssia or who it was that took her. Sam quick in looking away. “Sorry… my bad.”

A grunt my only reply. A piece of me still angry but not directed towards them. But towards the one’s responsible for Alyssia’s disappearance. Sam already asking the questions. Questions I needed the answers to. And stat.

“Annabel, baby.. what happened?”

Annabel quick to sigh. Her hands still holding his. Her body still physically shaken even when trying to breathe. “We were all having lunch, or, at least trying to as everyone was basically finished.”

“Okay, then what?”

“Oh gods, it all happened so fast” cries Annabel as she begins retelling the story. “One minute we’re all inside the restaurant, each ready to leave, and the next.. we’re all ambushed by men covered in black when reaching the car.”

“And Mia?”

“She told us to run as she attempted to fight back. Gods Sam… I swear that all I remember is being told on what to do. The two of us running,” cries Annabel as tears begin falling from along her face and Sam tries to console her.

Annabel still sobbing. “Oh gods… I’m such a fool. I’m sorry Zac. I honestly thought.. I honestly thought she was still behind me. I didn’t know we’d eventually get separated nor that she’d slip thru my fingers.”

“Whoa, easy baby. Zac’s not mad. I mean.. he is but not directed towards you. Just breathe. Your panicking.”

Annabel just simply nodding before doing as told. Sam always spot on when it came down to other people. Including those he barely knew. It’s why we became such good friends. Annabel soon gasping. Her eyes widening.

“Oh god. I just remembered something.”

“What? What is it baby?”

“Your tracker. I accidentally slipped it into Alyssia’s pocket during our failed shopping trip.”

Sam’s eyes instantly wide. “Really? That’s genius baby. Absolutely genius.” Sam then quick to pull out his phone. His attempt at finding the tracker now rising. Even as Mia finally arrives. Mia covered in blood and I instantly panic.

“Christ Mia.. are you hurt? Your covered in blood.”

“No, I’m fine. But the bastards who ambushed us aren’t so lucky,” chimes Mia as if this was completely normal for her.

Sam still working upon his phone. The four of us still standing near the car. My mind soon back upon Alyssia’s. A piece of me spiraling out of control with worry yet manages to stop once hearing Sam speak. His voice full of certainty.

“BINGO. GOT HER.”

“You do?”

“Yep, except it’s faint. But otherwise, yeah, I do. But I’ll need my laptop to pin-point the exact location of her.”

“Then let’s go. The sooner we find her; the sooner I can learn which bastard it was that ordered the hit against my girl.”

Sam just nodding his head before the four of us then move to climb into Sam’s car. The need to return home more important then grabbing Mia’s car. Her car not super important and one I can easily replace should it magically get towed. Alyssia more important, and the main focus in terms of rescue, because the longer we waited, the longer it took in getting her back.

Alyssia

Daddy… where are you? I wonder slowly to myself. The van in which I’m in silent. Too silent. Except for the two men sitting upfront. One being the man who called me little mouse. Neither one talking which only made the silence feel worse. Way worse.

My body currently huddled within the van in an attempt to play small. A piece of me hoping that by playing small that they’d some how forget about me and I’d be able to sneak away. My arms soon wrapped around legs in an attempt to huddle while listening to those around me. The driver soon speaking. His voice low yet still rich like the one who managed to grab me within the alley. “Boss… what shall we do? She’s with child? Do we really want to.. you know.. kill her?”

“No. We won’t kill the little mouse. Instead, we setup a ransom. We ask the person in charge for more money.”

My mind suddenly racing upon hearing the news. Ransom? To whom? Zac? But that can’t be true. They said person in charge. So who ordered the hit in the first place?

The van soon coming to a complete stop in which I then realize we’re at an unknown location. The van parked as the two men exit the vehicle before opening the side door. The man from earlier now speaking. “Okay little mouse, end of the line for you. Time to go.”
