Logan's POV.
"No!!! No!!! Lo...gan!" Ivy belts out, her chest heaving as pain attacks her from all angles.
She refuses to speak up, and I refuse to stop inflicting the pain on her until she spills the answer I demand.
Matt squirms in his seat as he watches me rain hell on Ivy. Seeing her a squirming mess gladdens my heart. Somehow I feel whatever pain I dole out on her equals the measure of pain my mate is suffering.
Since I've known Ivy, I've never seen a smidge of scratch much less blood on her body until now.
It gives great pleasure knowing the all-powerful queen of the vampires is at my mercy. Blood dribbles down her disfigured eye. Hoarse cries vibrate into my ears.
Ivy has lost sight in one eye, nothing but the veins and tendons of what makes up her eye remain, coated in thick dark coppery liquid.
Matt pisses himself seeing the gory sight, he panics, attempting to tear the rope binding him to the chair away but Lester doesn't give him the chance.
My beta pounces on him. Gripping the dagger lounging on the coffee table, he digs it into his jugular.
Blood flows out, the tang assailing into my nostrils. Matt bleeds and weeps like a baby, tapping his feet on the wooden floor.
To keep him from arousing the attention of neighbors, Lester sinks the dagger into one of Matt's knees.
A bubbled wail of agony rises but Lester slams his hand over Matt's mouth, growling enough for him to hear.
"You'll do well to keep your mouth shut!"
"Hmmm..." Matt bounces on the chair, jerking his flailing head in a nod.
Turning my murderous gaze back at Ivy, I demand again.
"Where did they take her?"
She gushes a distorted laugh, blood spilling from her mouth in the process. "You think this...will make me cower?"
Her damaged eye is slowly starting to heal. The white sclera of her eye is reforming and appearing again. Vampires heal faster than us, and each healing they undergo makes them a lot stronger than before.
I can't let Ivy regain her full strength. At that, I squeeze out the wooden bullets again, watching the bullet dig into her breasts.
She falters, flopping back into the chair. A betrayed look crosses her eyes.
"Log...an..." She splutters, hoping her broken words will redeem me but she doesn't know I'm too far gone to be redeemed, especially when it comes to her.
The bullet slips from the mound of her breasts, penetrating her heart.
Aha! I've gotten her weak point.
Smiling sinisterly, I raise my hand, and holding her wavering stare, I sink my hand into her heart.
The organ, tender and pliant, beats fervently against the palm of my hand.
Ivy begins a rapid-fire cough, bouncing on the seat. She's finally at my mercy, and she knows.
For the last time, I growl again.
"Where did they take my mate, Ivy?" I spit into her face and she whimpers. I don't know if it's my hold on her heart or my saliva on her face that makes her jolt feverishly but I don't stop. I spew more threatening words. "You can help yourself by talking fast. That way I can guarantee you a swift and less painful death. But if you insist not to talk, then I'll make your death slow and painful."
Her disastrous cough fills my ears. An unwelcome answer to my question.
She struggles, sucking in ragged breaths. Eventually, she opens up as my grip tightens on her heart.
"They...she..." She breathes. "Seychelles,"
I reel back at her words, trying to interpret her incoherent words.
"They took her to...Seychelles?" I ask, pulling my fist away from her chest. Ivy bobs her head in a nod, uttering.
"Yes. That's what I heard them say."
Lester and I exchange a look. I don't exactly know where that is and from the look on Lester's face, he doesn't know either.
Turning back to Ivy, I hiss. "And where is that?"
"Somewhere...in Africa..."
Fuck!!
They took my mate somewhere that far? Pushing the thoughts aside, I beckon to Lester to finish the work.
I want to erase all traces of Ivy so that her people won't ever find her. Lester bustles around to find gasoline.
Latching onto it, he pours a considerable amount on Matt and Ivy, and then in the whole house up to the front door.
The moment we find our way out, I set the place on fire.
Ivy's howls of pain are directly accompanied by Matt's. They writhe in eternal agony as the fire licks them up, skin to skin.
I leave with the faint smell of their burnt flesh lingering in my nose. My heart saturates with momentary victory as we pull the car out of the community.

I drive into the pack house with resolution scored into my veins. The morning sun has drawn its orange hue across the cobalt-blue sky. It warms my skin, chasing the cold that comes with the fear of Rain's condition down in Seychelles.
On our way back, Lester did some research and found out the place is an Island country in Africa.
I thought I had traveled the world but I was sorely mistaken. I haven't explored places such as the Island country.
According to Lester, there's a private Island in the east of Seychelles. He tapped into the modern technology and scanned the area, only to discover the four identical buildings sitting on the Island.
Four identical buildings mean...the four Slayers.
My pack members halt the activities they have going on at the screeching sound of my car tires. The training recruits pause.
All eyes zone in on us as we alight the car, slamming the doors shut.
As I pause before the crowd, brows pinched, everyone realizes something is going on.
"Alpha...?" They chorus, looking at one another.
Gathering my strength, I boom. "For a while now we've prepared ourselves for war. A war of vengeance, retribution, and reclaiming what was ours. We feared that we were not ready enough to take down on the people that brought us disaster in April 1858 in Oakdale."
"We fear they have advanced technologies and we have none. But those are the most deceitful words we've told ourselves."
Everyone hushes, listening to what I'm saying. The pups amongst them peer at each other, yet sealing their mouths, knowing this moment is what will determine their fate.
"The Slayers might have advanced technologies. Weapons. But we have 'us'. We've each other, united as one family. We have the goddess as our support. And I, Alpha Logan Pierce, believe the goddess will give us victory!!!"
At my last words, they all roar. The males tap their chests with fierce determination marked on their faces. The females hoot, chanting words of praise to my name and to the goddess.
"Today, we declare war on the Slayers!!!!!" I declare and thunderous roars echo. Most people shift into their other forms, bouncing into the woods and back.
It dawned on me at that moment that my people are ready for war as long as I am.

A few hours later, I set up my war cabinet. We begin an intense discussion on how to take down the Slayers and their depraved empires.
"The first squad will storm into Oakdale with the renegade soldiers through the east," Tiago sputters, pointing somewhere on the map. "That way, they'll take the patrollers unaware in their base."
"Then what about those going for the Slayers?" Someone asks from the table. I raise my head, surprised to see Esau talking. Esau was among the teens who lost their parents after the last attack from the Slayers.
"I've selected a team that'll fly down to Seychelles," I answer him.
Esau storms to his feet, blurting. "I want to be among them, alpha."
His eyes are strung with indisputable determination. I've never seen a teen so eager to see the success of our pack's course. That has me nodding my head at his request.
"Fine, you will join us."
We discuss the remaining details and everyone else dismisses to prepare for the invasion both in Oakdale and in Seychelles.
My beta arranges a truck that will carry the troops to the tarmac.
My gamma leads the squad in charge of storming into Oakdale whereas Tiago drives the rest to the tarmac.
The flight has been prepared and my men all file into it. I take the stairs, hoping to join the others until I see figures shoving out of the woods.
My spine freezes. I turn with a gaped mouth watching the least people I expect to be here shoving forward.
The witches.
As they draw to a halt before me, they bow their heads. Aphrodite steps out through the crowd acknowledging me.
"Alpha." Her golden brown eyes shine with resolve. A firm, knowing smile tips up her lips to reveal her pearly white teeth.
"Aphrodite...you've come..." I trail off.
The woman grins, nodding. "We'll take this fight with you. We're ready to take Sinai down for you to win."
Hearing that, my heart surges. With a wolfish grin, I spew. "Come on, let's go on a killing spree,"
Exchanging glances, the witches file into the plane and we depart for Seychelles.
To end it all.
To save my mate. My luna.
