Logan's POV.
Lester bustles into my hotel room, all fast breath and sweaty. His iPad rests in his hand. His muscled biceps flexes given how the sleeveless shirt he's wearing leaves his arms exposed.
I've just finished bathing, eager to prepare and dive into our next hunting destination. Days have bled into weeks with Lester and I searching for Ivy across the world.
The bitch vanished after her stinging betrayal, leaving no trace. Her right-hand man, Vistus, is the one running the diaries while Ivy jumps from one place to another.
She knows I'm hunting her, and I won't stop until I find her.
I gaze at Lester who mindlessly treads closer to me, blurting out.
"I guess I know Ivy's current location." Lester announces and hearing those words makes my belly summersault.
"How? Let me see," I dart close and snatch the iPad from him, zooming the screen to see the images lurking in it.
There's a male news reporter welding a microphone as he blabbers about the new death wave in their community. The victims are mostly males and females the human age of twenty and twenty one.
A few distance away from the news reporter's stead, I see Ivy. She's standing in front of a residential door, holding the door handle as if to lock it while cutting her gaze at the camera.
The resulting effect of spotting the bitch after searching for so long is chills enveloping my body.
"How did you come across this?" An unruly smile curls my lips as I bring my head up to stare back at Lester.
"I was just scrolling through the media and bumped into it." He took the device from me, tapping his fingers on it until he came across something. "I just checked the location now. Ivy's in Mexico."
My heart sings. Tapping my beta on the shoulder as a sign of appreciation, I zip across the room to the closet that contains my clothes.
"You need to dress up so we can go hunt her down before she disappears again.",I inform Lester.
He takes off across the room to the door, gushing. "I'll be ready in ten minutes," The door clings shut when he slips past it.
I quickly don my clothes and hurry outside to the valet lot. Once the Valet hands me my keys, I enter the car and lay in wait for Lester.
Where we are is not too far away from Ivy's. If I drive fast enough, I'll catch up with her in a few hours.
Lester hurries out of the elevator and into my car, slamming the door shut. Welding the wheel, I carve out of the parking lot and onto the road, heading to Ivy's location on the map.
Silence brims the car. My mind brew with thoughts about Rain and her current condition. After a long drive, we arrive at the location at nightfall.
The street is empty but all the houses here have their lights on, except Ivy's. Cautiously, I kill the engine and alight from the car.
Lester hurtles beside me as we head over to the door we saw Ivy coming out of earlier.
I pull aside, gesturing for Lester to pry the lock with his expert hands. It takes him a while but he eventually works the door open and we slip into the abounding darkness that is the house.
A strong scent of dried blood and musk files into my nostrils. The door clicks shut behind me as my beta tugs it closed. I flick on the torch on my phone, holding it down to make out the floor I'm walking on.
The almond wooden floor gleams with blood, both dried and fresh, as I maneuver over it with my beta. Ivy always wreck havoc wherever she goes. No wonder the death toll in the community has increased, and she's careful enough to ensure no trace leads back to her.
She's been feeding relentlessly which means we'll only find the Vampire queen at her strongest tonight. I'm usually no match to Ivy, hence, we draft a plan and await her return.
Lester and I go into hiding, checking the time while we wait for her to return. About two hours later, the door opens and a man shoves in with two girls.
Their lips and hands are locked, and he doesn't bother to turn on the light. My brows furrow as I grow flustered.
I thought it was Ivy who owned the house.
The whimpers and moan coming from the living room has Lester and I looking out.
The two girls are stripping themselves bare while sharing a kiss, giving the beanpole of a man a spectacle to watch. When the females are completely bare, he snidely ties them up to the arms chairs, darting his hands between their spread thighs to cup their sex.
I wonder what he's doing.
My frustration mounts when it's obvious this isn't Ivy's place. We prepare to leave but pause when the man dials a number, Informing the person he's gotten supplies for them.
At that moment, everything else makes more sense. The man is the one that brings these humans to Ivy. The girls' whimpers echo, fear assailing their bodies. They probably thought their night would only end in sex but the reverse is the case.
Lester sneaks up to the door in the abounding darkness, hiding beside it with a club in his hand. Then I hide behind the couch, waiting for the big fish to arrive.
Moments later, a knock lands on the door, and Ivy's voice rings out.
"You are so great at this, Max. I always have you to count on."
"I'm glad you like it...," He replies and a groan rips from his mouth as Ivy pecks his lips. I wait for Lester to launch an attack but he stalls which worries me.
Is he afraid of Ivy and is delaying launching an attack on her?
I mouth a curse under my breath, preparing myself to attack Ivy. Her voice is clouded with satisfaction at the sounds of the girls' whimpers.
I heard her suck in a breath after getting a whiff of the girls' blood.
"Oh, I'm certain these two will taste just like I expected." She says, sniffing the scent again. Then she leans down, ready to sink her fangs into one of the girls.
Before then, Lester strikes out, knocking the club's spiked edge over Ivy's head.
She groans and leans back, cradling her hurting head.
"You!?" She yells at the sight of Lester, willing to attack but I slip out of my hiding place, growling. "Logan..." She trails off, gasping when she sees me.
"Hello again, Ivy," I hum. The females seated over the chair whimper at the unfolding event. Ivy's male had gone up to his room to shower, unaware of the tension clouding this living room.
Ivy, seeing my advances towards her, bolts for the back door. She moves with speed, rushing to open the door but I step in and pull her away from the door.
She goes flying in the kitchen, growling until her back hits the island. A bone-cracking sound blares, coming from Ivy.
She spit curses under her breath and rises. The moment she finds her footing, Ivy attacks me. I dodge her first attack, and now she goes into a frenzy, kicking and aiming at me.
I tumble on the floor a few times and each moment I fall, she rushes to the door, trying to escape, but forcing myself back on my feet, I chase after her, ripping her away from the door.
I'll be damned if I let her escape again. In the middle of the chaos, the guy, Matt, comes down only to see the fight going on.
From the corner of my eyes, I see him rushing back upstairs to flee but Lester nabs him, tackling him on the floor.
"Who the hell are you!?" Her cries, bucking beneath Lester.
"No one you need to know," Lester growls, tucking his meaty hands over the man's nape. The two girls watch us, hope in their eyes. Tears on their cheeks.
As I fling Ivy over the Island again, she knocks her head on the sharp edge and keels over, unconscious.
That's when I get the opportunity to tie her to the armchair after freeing the girls and using mind control on them to forget what they saw.
Lester ties up Ivy's partner while he bucks and whimpers.
I take some time to gather my strength before launching into this interrogation. Knowing Ivy, she wouldn't yield easily and I braced myself for the difficulty that would follow.
After a while, Lester hands me a bucket of water and I splash it on her face, waking her.
Ivy stirs with a groan slipping from her mouth. Her fanned-out lashes flicker before her lids open.
Revulsion shines in her depths when she sees me and curses, spitting at my feet.
I reach her in one stride, sink my hand into her scattered hair and pull. A cry shoots from her mouth as her scalp burns.
I tilt to her ear level and growl, "Where is she, Ivy?"
She chuckles, sneering at me. "I don't know. Even if I do, I'm never going to tell you shit."
Ahh, I was right after all. We lock eyes briefly while I grin darkly at her.
"I expected that much from you," I tell her as she tracks my movement across the room while I try to show her the special gift I bought her. Clasping my hand over the gun with wooden bullets, I dart her a look.
Ivy's eyes widen as I step closer to her, bearing the gun. She cries out when I release one of the wooden bullets into her right eye, demanding.
"Where did they take Rain to?"
TBC.
