Rain's POV.
"You know, it still surprises me how you managed to hide your true self from me, Rain, despite all I did to trigger you..." Mr. Hanks says, coming closer to me.
The wave of anger I feel deep inside me as I stare up at him causes me to spit on his face. Mr. Hanks's eyes darkened. Slowly, his fingers creep up his face and he gently dabs at the slimy liquid.
The guards tighten their hold on me, waiting for an order from the mayor. The rest of the Slayers bash me with hateful glares, I feel it dribbling down my joints.
Veering my eyes back at Mr. Hanks when I hear him laughing, my lips curl downward.
He doubles over again, laughing harder. My face turns beet red as I wonder the reason for the laughter. When he ceases to laugh, he pierces me with his devouring gaze.
"This...is such a deja vu moment, Rain." He boisterously says, throwing his hands up.
"What do you mean?" I growl, fighting against the bruising hold of the guards.
Mr. Hanks heaves a breath and then hums, "Yulia did exactly the same thing you did now the day I caught and took her to the sacrifice ground..."
Another wave of hatred for the man swims inside me. I can't imagine how my mother suffered at their hands. It's so unfortunate I'm about to face the same fate.
"You're such a vile, evil dickhole!" I howl, fighting the surging heat of anger. "You and your kinsmen will die such a horrendous death!"
He only smiles at my curses, looking at me with a detached expression. It takes a moment before he begins that tirade that chills me to the bones.
"You know, I literally loved your mother. I mean out of the hundreds of women I married since being immortal, she's practically the one that snaked her way to my heart."
Anger surges at his story. I can't believe I've been deceived all my life.
"I never wanted to kill her like the others. She was such a pretty woman with a voice as soft as the birds' chirp and being in her arms felt like being wrapped in the wings of an angel. She was an angel. She lit my dark, vile world, you see..."
"Stop talking about my mother," I bark, bucking against the men's hold on my arms. I call on Riot to lend me strength that I can use and gouge out his filthy eyes but my lycan is totally weak.
"Oh, I will. You only have to listen, Rain!" He retorts, his voice deep like the chasm of death. He plunges his face so close to mine and spits out, his hot breath wafting over my pursed lips. "She was my world. But everything crumbled the moment I discovered her obsession with werewolves."
"At first, I was intrigued, thinking it was just ordinary research she was conducting. But everything changed when I read her journal and found the Sai." A beam lit up his dark eyes. "I knew then she was a lycan. And a cheat. SHE CHEATED ON ME!!!!!!" He roars the last part, making me cower.
Panic ticks my muscles as my eyes round. I see raw madness in his gaze when I look into his eyes.
"She fucking cheated and brought you piece of trash in my house under the guise that you're my daughter!!!"
I gasped hearing what he just referred to me as. I've always been a trash to him. He knew all along that was why he kept me close to punish me for the sins of my mother.
To sacrifice me just like he did her.
"I pray the goddess shrivels your fucking cock!" I slam, bucking against the tight hold on me. At my words, Mr. Hanks sends his fist across my cheek, slapping me so hard my head whips aside.
Blood dribbles from my nose and tears sting my eyes.
"I discovered the truth about Yulia right on time when we bargained with Sinai. Now, I discovered the truth about you right when I'm about to completely destroy werewolves from the surface of the earth."
It takes a while for the meaning of his words to hit home, and instantly, I narrow my eyes at him.
"What do you mean by destroy?" I rasp out.
He laughs hard again, gushing. "So eager. Always eager like your mother. But don't worry, you shall find out soon."
He turns to guards and orders. "Lock her up in the cell."
Mrs. Sinai steps forward and stops beside him. She doesn't so much as glimpse my way.
Mr. Hanks takes her in and utters. "Keep her healthy and strong before the wedding."
"What? What...wedding?" I blurt, breathing frantically. "I demand to know!" I add when no one responds.
The guards begin to drag me away. My feet scrape over the hot sand while I struggle. The waves ride high, its sound penetrating my ears. It should've brought me relief but it simply can't now.
Nothing will ever grant me relief.
The men take to one of the four buildings on the Island. I barely have the time to feast on the structure and facade of the buildings.
We go into one of the houses and I'm shocked to see practically everything in the house is pristine.
Does someone live here? I wonder.
"Move!" One of the guards nudges when I pause to gaze around the house. I whimper and saunter forward following them into the underground basement.
There I see two pairs of metal doors. My heart jolts as one of the guards tugs the metal door open.
"Here you are, little cunt," He rasps, giving me a chilling smile.
Darkness surrounds the place, making my heart shrivel.
When the guard behind me notices my backward movement, he grabs me by the waist and lifts me up.
"No! Let me...down!!!" I scream and kick my legs up in the air. Yet he doesn't listen.
The guard hastily storms into the darkness and dumps me on what seems like a cot.
"I don't spare time for bitches!" He hisses and steps away.
Instantly, they both tug the metal door close while I hurry up to meet them.
The chains jangle as they put it in the lock and it all feels like my heart has been taken from me as I watch the men go, leaving me in complete darkness.
A warbled cry plucks from my mouth and my knees buckle. My ass meets the dank, cold floor while shudders wrack my body.
I begin to rethink my day until this moment, but every other thing that precedes my kidnap becomes a blur.
All that rushes through my mind is my impending death. I don't know what these depraved men plan to do with me but I know it's something unconventional.
What did Hanks mean about marriage earlier? I wonder.
Hours sweep as I sit numb on the floor. Not a flicker of movement from me. I can barely feel my heartbeat. I guess it's somehow feeling numb too.
My gaze focuses on the dark room and by the time it adjusts to the darkness, I start to see the dried blood on the cot.
I rivet my gaze away from the gore, only for it to settle on the tiny steel at the foot of the cot.
Curious, I crawl over and pick up the steel and instantly, it all makes sense.
It's a ring. A female's ring.
I bring it closer to my eyes and look, wondering who amongst the women locked in here owned the ring.
At that moment, I hear the thudding of incoming footsteps.
My heart skips several beats as I rise to my feet, anticipating.
Mrs. Sinai appears before the metal doors and seeing her reignite my anger anew.
"The witch herself," I call, my voice holding an undertone of mockery. I don't dare look down at her hand. I only fix my gaze on hers. "Who could have thought the teacher of morals is this depraved?"
"I have no words for you, Rain." She grits out.
"Why would you? After deceiving me all my life?" I bark, my fingers curling around the bars. As I shake the door, the chains rattle in anger. "You're so evil and I promise you, I'll not make your death swift, Sinai!"
"Too bad, you'll not live to witness it, Rain." She gives me a nerve-wracking, creepy smile and then outstretches her hand to me.
In her hand lurks a vial and a cloth. A silky, transparent red negligee.
"Here, take the bottle of aphrodisiac and change into the dress. The draft will keep your thighs wet when they come. The Slayers love It when it's so wet..."
What does that mean?
My heart thunders at the meaning of her words.
"I'll never do anything you ask me!" I roar, fear creeping inside me on what lies ahead.
Sinai scoffs. "If you don't. It'll only make your punishment worse. Do not say I didn't warn you..." she says and begins to depart.
I fall to my knees instantly as fear abounds inside me.
They will come for me.
Those depraved, vile and evil men will...come for me!!!
