Confession

Present..

“What is your problem Betty? What do you want from me?!” Ives yelled at Betty, grabbing both her shoulders and shaking her up.

“Chill.” Betty said, carefully pulling her hand from his grip.

“It’s not like I like doing this.” She moved slightly away from him and leaned on the railing that was before them, overlooking the car park.

“It’s all our parents idea.” She said, taking a deep breathe.

“I don’t understand, how is that possible?” Ives moved closer to where she stood.

“After the first council meeting, both your mother and mine met. Bringing up their children’s situation, they became fast friends.” She chuckled.

“Your mother whined on how she was scared that you’ll end up with a beta who wasn’t worth it and weaken the kingdom’s strength when you become the alpha of the pack, as she said she felt it in her gut that you’ll be chosen by the moon goddess.”

“Okay?” Ives was already getting impatient.

“I’m the only pup of my parents and as much as they’ve been trying to get another, all their efforts have been proved futile. And you know, I’m not fully inclined your way.” She gave him a sad smile.

“I don’t understand, what do you mean by being inclined my way?”

“I’m bisexual.” She deadpanned. “And I’m more inclined to my gender than yours. So mother could not take the risk of me ending up with a female, and not being able to provide an heir, when I get to be the alpha of the pack, thus having the throne taken from us to another.”

“So how do I come in, in all this?” Ives quirked a brow at her.

“Are you slow minded? Or you’re just dumb?” She turned to face him, shaking her head.

“Just get on to it already.” He said, not hiding the impatience in his voice.

“Alright, alright. Their plan was to get us mated before the blue moon, so whoever would actually be our mates, it’ll be too late to be with them, and they’ll be no other option but to reject them.”

“What the fuck!” Ives exclaimed in shock, pacing around disturbed, before coming back to where she stood. “And you agreed to it?! You said yes to that sick idea?! Are you crazy?!” He glared at her. If his eyes could actually bring out lasers, they’d have been two large holes in her head already.

“Like I had a choice.” She rolled her eyes. “Mother threatened to disown and totally cut me off everything, if I didn’t agree to it. I had no other choice.”

“What would my mother gain from this?” He pondered.

“Power.” She said. “If we get married, both our kingdoms would be merged and you’ll get an edge over any other werewolf kingdom. But if you get married to someone else, who isn’t an alpha or has a pure royal bloodline, you’ll be just like the other alphas. Basic and nothing significant to distinguish you. Betty explained.

“What happened to earning your respect as an alpha? Who said I wanted it the easy way?!” Ives fumed out, clearly pissed at what was just spilled to him.lgc

“Tell that to both our Luna’s.”

“Was that why you moved over her and switched schools here?” Ives asked.

“I needed a break from them.” She said. “They became too overbearing. Plus they were so ecstatic when I suggested it to them, giving them the reason that I wanted to stay closer to you.” She chuckled.

“So what are you going to do now? She asked about the obvious.

“What is there to do? I’m putting an end to this nonsense.” Ives stated.

“No! We can’t do that now.” She said, clearly terrified.

“It’ll complicate things.”

“Does it look like I care about what happens to you? You’ll go sort your shit yourself. You agreed to it.” Ives said, about making his way out.

“You’ll put Hazel in danger.” Betty deadpanned, halting Ives in his tracks.

“What do you mean?” He turned back to face her.

“She’ll be their target. They’ll want to do all they can to get her off the picture before the blue moon. She stands as a threat to what they want to achieve. Revealing to them that you’re now aware, will make them act on quickly.” Betty explained.

“So what do you suggest we do?” Ives asked, frustratedly pacing around.

“I can’t concentrate and think of anything if you keep moving around, you’re disturbing my train of thoughts.” Betty said, heaving out a sigh.

“Okay fine. I’ll stay still.”

“I think we should act like we’re now together, till we can figure something out. Probably act this way till the blue moon when you can claim your mate.” Betty said.

“No! I can’t stay away from Hazel that long. What if she gets claimed by another?” Ives exclaimed.

“Calm down. I don’t like the situation as well. Not like I like being around you. You’re so over bearing and a typical big baby.” She rolled her eyes.

“So why did you seduce me the day before I left for the woods?”

“Cause it was your mother’s idea, to probably hasten the process. Not like I enjoyed your stuff stuck up my hole. You’re bad at it though, but I’ve had worse, that’s why I stick to the females.”

“Whatever.” He felt his ego wounded, but he didn’t let it show on his face.

“Maybe we could pretend we’re still together, but Hazel needs to know that it’s just a charade and nothing real, so I don’t loose on both ends.” Ives suggested.

“I really don’t think it’s a good idea.” Betty shook her head. The chemistry between you both will give it away.

“Oh men.” Ives ran his hand through his hair. “I should get going. You have a ride back home?” Ives asked, as he started making his way to his car.

“Nope. I’m joining you.” She followed him.

“I didn’t offer to give you a lift.”

“You don’t have to. It’s your responsibility now, if you don’t want to get discovered.” She wiggled her brows as she got into the passengers side off his car.

“Doesn’t mean we are friends now.” He got into the drivers side.

“You have no say in it.” She laughed, as he drove off.

Ryan had stalled a bit, driving around in circles, just so he could spend more time with her. He finally dropped her off at the mansion’s entrance, and made his way off.

Hazel, who was about getting in the building took a pause on seeing Ives car drive into the compound.

She thought of having a talk with him and probably clearing the air, since she didn’t like the tension that went on between them. Though she still felt hurt over the fact he choose Betty over her, somewhere in her heart, she felt a glimmer of hope.

“Hey.” She raised her hand to wave at Ives, who got out from his car, just to take her hand back down immediately she saw Betty come out from the other side.

“Hazel.” Ives who had noticed the gesture, started walking towards her, when she turned her face and abruptly left, without a backward glance.

“That’s weird.” Ives looked at her retreating figure and back to Betty who came from behind him. “I mean, she just called out and she angrily leaves when I approach her?”

Betty chuckled, shaking her head, as she walked pass him into the building.

“Women. What exactly do women want?” He shook his head and followed suit.

“I can’t believe I almost embarrassed myself out there.” Hazel muttered, pacing around her room.

“Arghhh!” She picked up a pillow and flung it the opposite direction.

“Why would I do that.” She scolded herself, sitting on the edge of her bed, clearly unease.

“What’ll he think of me? Arghh.” She slumped back to the bed, shutting her eyes, when she suddenly felt a presence in her room.

“What do you want?” Hazel asked unperturbed and still on her bed.

“That’s not a nice way to welcome a visitor.” The moon goddess tsked, taking a sit on the chair by Hazel’s window.

“You’re no good news. Why do I even bother.”

“I want to show you something.” The moon goddess stood to her feet, and walked to where Hazel laid. “Hold my hand.” She stretched her hand to her.

“Just go away, I’ve had a long day already.” Hazel whined, turning over to her side.

“Grab my hand now Hazel.” The moon goddess said in a demanding way.

“Alright, alright.” She reaches out to the hand of the moon goddess.

“Woah!” Hazel screamed, as she was suddenly whooshed into thin air.

“Where are we?” Hazel asked, looking around the strange room which seemed like they were in constellation space.

“How’s this even possible.” She looked up at the twinkling stars overhead which felt so close that she could reach her hands to them.

“Are those real?” She pointed at the shooting comets. “Are we like out in space?” She asked bewildered.

“So many questions, which do I answer first?” The moon goddess chuckled, moving two large plates which hung simultaneously, as though she was swiping through them.

“What are those for?” Hazel asked, moving close to where the moon goddess stood.

“Let’s say a window, where I watch you all.” The moon goddess gracefully moved around with a commanding aura.

“Woah! Like a television?” Hazel stared in awe.

“If you say so.” The moon goddess chuckled.

“How come they are three stands of this large plates?” Hazel asked, as she observed them, within a two meter distance from each other.

“This.” The moon goddess pointed at the first pair of plates, “Is a window to the past.” She walked up to the second pair. “The window to the present, and this finally, is the future.” She said, as she stood right before it.

“How does it work?” Hazel looked into both plates and saw nothing. “Or it’s just you, who can see it?” She quirked a brow.

“The inquisitive you is cute.” The moon goddess chuckled, gently pulling on one of the plate, while rearranging the other.

“I brought you here to show you this.” She swirled her both her hands above the plates, forming a clear light with her hand movement, as the light wave grew bigger, till it struck on the plate, giving out an hissing sound, as it twirled around the plate, finally settling in it, and clearing off. Showcasing a clear picture of earth.

“Woah!” Hazel stared wide eyes.

“Move closer.” The moon goddess beck comes on Hazel, so she’ll get a much more clearer view of what she wants to show her.

Hazel saw her city, where the werewolves resided, looking deserted and in ruins.

“What happened here?” She asked, recognizing her home.

“Keep watching.”

The few werewolves she saw, seemed like they were running from something, as they were all in a terrible state, with either a limb cut out or large wound slashed on them, with blood oozing out.

A group of werewolf soldiers appeared in another scene, matching to war. She watched how the demons who were extremely sleek and quick, slice through the werewolves, killing them like flies and barely anyone could escape the wrath of the devil.

She saw Ives being captured and brought to a deep hole, with demons all around.

She watched Ives struggle to fight for his life and his people, but it was all useless, as they finally succeeded to plunge a knife through his chest to his back.

Hazel screamed out, as Ives fell dead, but not without taking a whole lot down with him.

Incantations were made, as Ives was thrown down the bottomless pit, creating a blinding light, as all the demons fell on their knees.

As the light weared off, a demon which looked greater than any she had seen, came out.

Hazel gasped in shock as she saw the demon transform to herself with a crown, as she walked to the makeshift throne, with the demons all bowing at her feet.

“Only you have the power to change the future.”

Those were the last words Hazel heard before she saw darkness.
