Chapter 26 Two can play

Chapter 26 Two can play
Ryder's POV

I didn't want to attend this party.

But then Peter told me that the nerds were invited and Mica set them up.

It piqued my interest immediately.

Now, I wasn't going there because I wanted to party.

But because I wanted to see what was going to happen.

And now, I regret it.

Things took a U-turn so fast.

"Look at those nerds." One of the girls that draped on my thigh said, eyeing Uriel and her friends when they walked in with their robes.

They looked so funny at first

But that didn't last long.

My blood boiled when people began to make snarky comments.

How stupid could she even be to not take the bait and go home?

Her friends looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there.

It looked as though Uriel was the one making them do whatever they were about to do.

In a swift second, they headed to the pool. Unlike me, I followed the crowd to watch.

Uriel was a very interesting character.

And unpredictable too

You would think you know how she'd react and then she reacts the exact opposite of what you thought.

Like that moment

My eyes hardened when I got a glimpse of her skin before she dived into the water.

I'm sure everybody did too.

Fuck.

They were so smooth.

I imagined running my fingers on her skin. What it would feel like.

Then the song began to play and they began to perform, I was toasted.

They were fucking naturals at it, like they had practiced it over and over.

I was sure Mica would be fuming in anger.

Nice one, Kinky.

I praised her in my head.

When they finished and she got out again, my blood boiled. My pulse quickened.

Just like before, I was mad at her for wearing bikini.

Didn't she have shame for herself?

To help myself from not snapping at her, I went back to resume my seat.

She wasn't my priority.

She could do whatever she pleased.

I didn't know I was going to be eat back those words hours later.

My legs bobbed up and down as I counted every second and minute that led to 7 minutes.

"Are you good, bro?" Peter asked me quietly, looking at my leg and then my face.

The girl that sat on my leg had gone for a refill.

Good, because if she didn't stand up... I would've fucking pursued the bitch.

"Ryder..."

"Seven minutes. Go fucking knock." I glared at Peter.

He stood up, going to knock.

He knocked first but no response.

He knocked second

Before he would knock for the third time, I stood up. My jaw ticked as I marched down to the door but stopped halfway when it opened.

"Ouuuuuuu." People cheered.

Before Chase would tell us whatever or give us some evidence of proof, I attacked him.

I pushed him back by his chest, glaring at him.

"What the fuck, man?"

"Are you fucking stupid?" My voice was hard.

The crowd gasped

"Ryder." Mason came from beside me, placing his hand on my chest. I swatted it off me, pushing him away.

"Why? Are you jealous?" Chase stood tall, pushing his chest out.

Jealous?

He wished

"I'm not fucking jealous or whatever. You should be ashamed of yourself!" I yelled. "She's a fucking minor."

I pointed at Uriel

Her eyes grew dark, her nose flared up.

"She consented." Chase eyed me up and down.

"Fuck this. There's no need explaining shit to you." I grabbed Uriel's hand, dragging her away with me amidst her protest.

"Let go!" She kept of yelling, trying to pull her hand away from my grip.

When we got outside, to a corner, I left her hand.

"What the fuck is your problem?" She frowned at me, folding her arms.

"You should leave." I nodded at her. "Party's over for you."

"What are you? My father?" She scoffed, anger laced in her voice.

"Call me whatever you want but you're not getting in there, Uriel. Don't test me." I warned, my voice dangerously low

"Watch me." She tried to walk away but I caught her arm with ease, pulling her back effortlessly.

She huffed, pushing my hand away.

"Look, I'm not going to repeat myself." I told her, my eyes darker than before.

"Or else what?"

"Does your mother even know you're in a party? You know she'd be fucking mad at you!" I yelled.

"How about we leave my mother out of this and talk about you." She challenged, walking close to me.

"What about me?" I leaned down, my eyes holding onto her furious gaze.

"One minute you're ... you're touching me and treating me like you want something more with me and the next minute, you're being a total dick, treating me like a child!" She sneered.

My mouth fell open, partly.

I did all those?

"Seriously, you need to stop giving me mixed signals, Ryder." She poked my chest.

"So that's why you threw yourself on Chase like a slut? To get back at me? To teach me a lesson?" I took a step closer, covering the space. Her eyes fluttered. "Did you come to this party to rub yourself on different boys so you can get to me?"

I leaned down, holding her chin.

"Well, you failed. You only proved to me that you are no different from -"

She raised her hand, smacking it across my face.

My face turned to the side, my eyes shut instantly. A dirty smirk appeared on my lips. I turned to face her.

"Did I strike a nerve?"

She eyed me in disgust. "You're no different from them either. At least Chase is human and way better than you."

My jaw ticked, my fist clenched.

"You did not just compare me to Chase? Why because he gave you your first kiss?"

She opened her mouth to say something but then paused. She looked me up and down, taking a step back.

"It's my life, Ryder. You have yours." Then she stared directly into my eyes. "And I'd date whoever I choose to date, even if it's Chase."

She wouldn't dare.

But if she did.

Two can play.

"I dare you."
