Chapter 193 193
Chapter 193 193
Alyna forced herself to remain standing even though fear had already spread through her entire body.
The stranger continued staring at her with unsettling intensity, as though he had known her long before this moment.
“Who are you?” Alyna finally questioned, her voice trembling despite her effort to sound firm.
The man tilted his head slightly.
“I’m Sarmon,” he answered calmly. “And I know you’re Alyna.”
The moment he spoke his name, Alyna felt her blood run cold.
Sarmon.
The very person they had all feared.
The monster hidden behind countless deaths and ruined packs.
Now he was standing directly before her.
“You’re mistaken,” she said quickly, taking another step back. “I’m not who you think I am.”
But Sarmon only stared at her as though her denial amused him.
“Those eyes,” he murmured darkly. “I’ve seen them in my dreams.”
A chill ran through Alyna’s spine.
His voice was unlike anyone she had ever heard before.
Deep.
Cold.
Controlled.
There was no warmth in it. No emotion. Every word that left his mouth sounded heavy with authority, as if he was someone born to command destruction itself.
Even his silence felt oppressive.
Sarmon slowly stepped closer, and Alyna instinctively realized why entire packs feared him.
He was terrifying.
Far more terrifying than she had imagined.
Asher carried authority.
Xander carried dominance.
But Sarmon carried something darker.
Something cruel and unnatural.
He stood much taller than most wolves she had seen, his broad frame almost shadowing the moonlight itself. Dark scars marked parts of his neck and hands, proof of countless battles survived. His black clothing blended with the night around him, while his sharp eyes remained fixed entirely on her.
Those eyes frightened her the most.
They were empty.
Not emotionless—but hollow in a way that made him seem detached from humanity itself.
As though killing meant nothing to him anymore.
As though mercy had never existed in his life.
“Alyna,” he repeated slowly. “I crossed oceans for you.”
The way he said it made her stomach twist painfully.
Not like affection.
Not like love.
Like possession.
As though he had searched endlessly for something that belonged to him.
Alyna immediately shook her head.
“I don’t know anything about you,” she whispered nervously. “Please leave us alone.”
But Sarmon ignored her plea completely.
Instead, he circled around her slowly like a predator studying prey.
“You have something inside you,” he said quietly. “Something valuable.”
Alyna’s breathing became uneven.
He knew.
Or at least suspected.
Her powers.
Her visions.
Sarmon stopped directly before her again.
“What do you know?” he asked.
Alyna remained silent.
The air around them suddenly felt suffocating.
“What did you see?” he questioned again, this time more firmly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she replied quickly.
Sarmon’s gaze darkened further.
“You’re lying.”
Alyna clenched her fists tightly.
Fear was consuming her, yet Vivi growled fiercely inside her, refusing to submit before this man.
“I said leave me alone.”
Sarmon took another step toward her.
“What do you hold?” he demanded. “Why were you shown to me?”
Alyna’s heart pounded violently.
Dreams?
What did he mean by that?
Had he truly seen her somehow before coming here?
The thought terrified her even more.
But she refused to let him see her fear completely.
Gathering whatever courage she had left, Alyna lifted her eyes and looked directly at him.
“I know one thing,” she said shakily.
Sarmon narrowed his eyes.
“And what is that?”
Alyna swallowed hard.
“That you’re going to die.”
Silence.
For one brief second, the forest itself seemed to freeze.
Then Sarmon’s expression changed instantly.
Dark fury flashed across his face.
The terrifying calmness vanished.
He stepped forward so quickly that Alyna barely reacted before a brutal force struck her violently.
Pain exploded through her body.
Sarmon kicked her hard enough to throw her across the ground.
Alyna gasped painfully as her body hit the earth.
Her vision blurred immediately.
Everything spun around her.
She tried to get up, tried to reach the hideout, tried to think of Leo, But the pain became unbearable.
The last thing she saw was Sarmon approaching her slowly.
Then darkness swallowed everything.
Somewhere far away, she vaguely felt herself being lifted into strong arms.
Carried away into the night.
