Chapter 39 SLOANE
CHAPTER 39
SLOANE
“You have got to be kidding me!” Rave gasped, her mouth opened wide as she looked up at one of the biggest museums she had ever been to, and she was not the only one. I suggested Sky Art because I follow them on Instagram and they look great and they show up in our books and I believed it was a great museum but the videos I saw on Instagram and the pictures did not do justice to how enormous and gorgeous it looked.
Rave wasn't the only one with her jaw dropped. Isaac, Daisy, and I were just as stunned.
“I will be your tour guide for today. Friends of Mr Xaden is a friend of ours, please make yourself comfortable but please refrain from touching any of the artwork.” The man said standing in front of us with a pleased smile, looking like the professional he is.
I can’t believe Xaden even hired one of the managers to escort us.
Xaden didn't come with us.
“You’re not coming?” I remember asking as we walked out of the house. He stood, his shoulder leaning on the door frame, holding a cup of coffee and his other hand in his pocket.
He shook his head. “I have been to that place more times than I can count. Besides, this is not a vacation it is a school trip. You guys are going there to learn.” he said, sounding like a daddy.
He has been acting all daddy-like since yesterday and it’s only making him hotter and sexier which is doing me no good whatsoever.
He threw his car keys to Isaac, “Drive safe. If you need anything, call me.” he said.
I know he said he didn't want to come but I know how much he loves art. I am sure the reason he didn't come was that he didn't want to create any misunderstanding with Jasper later on. He might not show it but I know he is worried.
I can’t believe he has to hide to protect my friendship with his brother.
“Sloane, are you listening?” Isaac whispered behind me. Shit. I was lost in thought. I didn't hear any of the things the tour guide said.
“I have a copy, you can get it after the tour but please do not insult these arts by ignoring them. Live in the moment. Xaden is home waiting for you. He is not going anywhere but these arts… You do realize if it wasn't for Xaden we probably would not have this opportunity.” Isaac scolded, glaring at me.
I want to refute but he was right. These arts are too beautiful to be ignored and Xaden put effort into getting us to come here. I should enjoy it.
And I did.
The tour was perfect. Everything was everything it needed to be. The paintings were beautiful. The sculptures were amazing. I wish the day wouldn't end.
“Thank you for visiting Sky Art Museum. I hope you enjoyed your tour.” The man said sweetly.
“Are you kidding? We love it.” We chorus then laugh at our sync.
“Thank you for having us,” I said softly.
“Of course, anything for the boss’s friends.” He added.
“Boss?” we chorused again.
“Yes, Mr Xaden is one of the owners,” he revealed.
“What?” once again, we chorused.
Just how wealthy is this man?
Being one of the owners of Sky Art Museum means he could quit his job and would never beg for a meal… he is loaded… ugh, why am I even surprised?
“I can’t believe, Xaden is one of the owners.” Isaac muffled as he drove us back to the villa.
“Me neither,” Rave added.
“I knew he was rich but dang!” Daisy added.
For the rest of the drive, we talked about the arts, the sculptures, and how we can use them as an inspiration for school work. Right in the car, we picked out a theme for our project, came up with designs, and even settled on a name.
“This is why artists go to Museums and Galleries, they end up with a mountain of ideas.” Daisy cheered.
Isaac got the door for us and we made our way in. Xaden was in the living room, legs crossed, hands on his tablet. His anti-blue glasses are sitting on the bridge of his nose as he is solely focused on work.
“Yes. Thanks, Jane. You are the absolute best.”
Jane?
Who is Jane?
Daisy waved at him, forcing him to peel his gaze away from his tablet. He smiled and waved back without uttering a word to us. He seemed really busy.
“Jane, come on. We already talked about this and it’s finalized. You are just being difficult.” Xaden said, talking to whoever Jane was.
“Hold on, are we still talking about work?” That is not a professional voice. That is a very friendly voice. Whoever Jane is, she is not just a work-related person. She is his friend.
“Glaring at him will not let you figure out who Jane is,” Daisy whispered.
Shit!
How long have I been staring?
Ugh! That is embarrassing.
“I wasn’t glaring!” I lied, walking upstairs.
“Sure sure..” she laughed.
“Guys I have an idea.” Rave burst the door open, her eyes shining.
“Uhm… okayyy.” I dragged, Daisy sat next to me, eyes on Rave, waiting for her to tell.
“Do you know there is a beach behind the villa?” she asked.
“A beach?” Daisy and I asked in unison.
“So I thought, why don’t we have a little bonfire. A little beach picnic. It would be fun. We have to go home tomorrow, we can’t leave this place like this… who knows when we are going to visit a place like this again?” she pouted.
Daisy rushed over to Rave and turned to me, “This is a great idea. I’ll meet with Isaac and we will get the snacks and drinks. Rave will set up while Sloane will go down and use her pretty face to get Xaden to approve and join us.”
These girls are evil!
No matter how hard I refused, I gave in.
Xaden tilted his head. His eyes were on me, brows slightly arched, waiting for me to talk.
“Sloane, is there something you want to ask me?”
I slammed my eyes shut and took a deep breath, “ We want to have a bonfire by the beach, will you come join us?”
