Chapter 26 SLOANE

Chapter 26 SLOANE
Chapter 26

SLOANE

It’s been two weeks since I last saw Xaden. He didn't visit the studio and he didn't come home either. His mum said he went on a business trip but I knew it was an excuse because of the little kiss I placed on his cheeks.

Ah!

My fingers ran through my hair, whimpering. I was too excited. I forgot how to stand and just pressed a kiss on his cheeks because he looked so cute struggling not to give in to me.

So he ran away again? Why is it that every time we kiss he always seems to vanish?

Ah whatever! He can rot wherever he is for all I care. I have his studio to myself. I have everything I need to practice my painting skills and perfect molding too.

I was stunned when he bought me all those things. I had been using the school facility to practice but since everyone was always using it, it was hard for me to explore and use it to my content.

I had been saving money from my online part-time jobs to buy myself the basics at least but my billionaire off-limits best friend's older brother spoils me too much!

I have everything I need, so I rarely even attend practice with my friends. I wish I could bring them to the studio but I like how this place is just for Xaden and me. A place for just the two of us. I like the thrill of going to a place where I can be free with him. I like the thrill of sharing a space with him, eating the space with him. Watching him paint with that tattoo spread on his body, begging me to take a bite.

“Sloane!” Rave voice reached out for me as I walked into the class. I waved at her and made my way to join them.

“Our score will be revealed today, do you think he would give us a green pass?” Daisy asked as I sat next to her.

Oh right, Hanson.

That man is unhinged. He is literally a thorn in my flesh. Ever since I spoke back at him, he has been, weird. He didn't pick on me anymore and even allowed me and every other girl in class to answer questions.

In my department, it’s rare to find a dumb student. I know, the coincidence of having smart people in the same class is surreal but we'll, we beat those odds and Hanson has no reason to fail anyone from my class but then again, he is unhinged, he can do whatever he wants.

Today is the day.

He finally walked into the mansion. “Hello, class.”

“Hello Sir!” we all chorused.

“I see you are all excited for your result.” his lips curled into a smile. It’s a shame a good-looking man like him has such a shitty attitude.

Every one of us sat still, probably breathing faster than a speeding bullet even though our faces were composed. I had spoken back at Hanson the first time he introduced himself. He hates me and he hates women. He believes we use our pretty faces to get what we want rather than working for it.

It was finally today, the last day of his lectures, what will he do? Will he live up to his reputation?

Our results were handed out. And as soon as my hands touched the card, I already knew I had the red one… he obviously failed me.

But he didn't.

It was a green card.

And it wasn't just me. Daisy, Raven, and a few other girls in the class got a green card.

He… He gave us the pass card?

What's gotten into him?

“It was nice teaching you this time. A lot of you proved yourself, especially those I underestimated. We might have started on the wrong foot but.. I hope this opens a new door for us. With that being said, enjoy the rest of your day.” Hans muttered and stepped out of the class almost immediately.

What the hell?

I should be thrilled.

I put a lot of effort into this class. As I said, Hans was a great professor, everything he taught was perfect. His explanation made some of my designs better and I enjoyed his class if I should be honest.

I really studied for his class because I wanted to prove myself but a part of me still believed he was going to fail me because of his hate towards women but… This is different.

“I guess the rumors were true.” Rave muffled.

Huh?

“What rumors?” I asked.

“I heard that someone had threatened him,” Rave whispered.

“Threatened? Was it a student?” I asked, leaning, eyes widened with curiosity.

“I don’t think it was a student. Allegedly, the scale was too large for a student… I’m guessing someone who has a grudge on him or something.” she shrugged.

Right in that moment, someone crossed my mind. The man whose eyes darkened when I lamented to him. The man who wanted to take things into his hands even though he is not related to the Mafia.

Xaden?

Did he do this?

“Guys, I have to go home!” I waved at them, grabbed my bags without waiting for their response, and dashed out of the class.

“Sloane! Where are you going?” Daisy called after me but I was too eager to get home.

Did Xaden really threaten him?

Shit! I still don’t have his number.

I grabbed a taxi and drove home.

I got out of the car and dashed towards the front door.

“You’re back! Come eat lunch with me.” Jasper’s voice roared through the living room and I froze.

Shit!

When did he get back?
