Mental scream!

FIFTY-FIVE

LEONE

I couldn’t even imagine how Lynn was feeling. But, I wanted nothing but to make her feel safe. I was so scared that something had happened that would make things worse for her. I couldn’t imagine if that were to happen, and I decided that I would be a bit more careful with her. She didn’t deserve to be so frightened, and I honestly wished I could be able to go back to the school, and beat up those boys, but I couldn’t .

With a sigh, I helped her into the car, and then called the house. I informed one of the maids to help me get Isabella from school. Honestly, I didn’t need to bring her from school, but I had volunteered since it had been so long we had spent time together. Though, I was regretting it a bit now, but it was what it was.

The drive back home was silent, and even though I wanted to ask Lynn how she felt, I didn’t have the courage to her. She looked like she was traumatised, and that made my heart clench. The worst thing to happen to a girl child was being bullied or molested. I didn’t even want to imagine what could have happened if I had not come when I did. It would have been a disaster that I didn’t wish to happen.

“I…” she said suddenly as she broke into tears.

I cursed silently, manoeuvring the car over to the side of the road. I killed the damn engine, and looked right at her. Her nose was red, and she was crying profusely without a pause. It was so disconcerting to see, and my heart shattered. Without thinking twice, I pulled her from the passenger seat, and straddled her on my thigh, holding her close to me.

“It’s going to be fine, baby. I’m here for you,” I said softly, stroking her back repeatedly.

Her tears made my neck and shirt wet as she cried on me, but I didn’t mind it one bit. Instead, I embraced that. I wished for her to cry more of those ugly tears on me more often. I wanted to take her pain and sorrow together as one, and I wished to be able to take good care of her, in a way that she would never lack in her whole life.

“It’s not fine,” she contradicted as she leaned back on the steer wheel.

I softly pulled her hair behind her ears. There was no way in hell that I would gaslight her feelings because it does matter. I would have to make sure that she was able to express herself, no matter what it took.

“The boys… they ganged around me, and I felt at a horrifying moment that I wouldn’t be able to escape. Gregory started it, you know. Maybe, I shouldn’t have hit him, but I was doing it to defend myself. I couldn’t let him walk all over me. I had to do something, so that things wouldn’t get worse. Was I wrong?” She asked in a timid voice.

I stroked her cheeks softly. “You weren’t wrong, Lynn. I didn’t realise you would be in so much danger with them around. I would have…”

She placed a finger on my lips, as she used the other hand to clean her tears. “There is nothing you could have done. I’m an artist and you can’t follow me around all the time,”she said softly.

I held her finger, and kissed it slightly. Then, I released it as I looked right at her. I could feel the emotions that she was trying to hide, but failing to do that, and that made me slightly emotional. I didn’t want her to feel pain.

“Maybe, you’re right. But, I would have to take more care to protect you now. I promise I wouldn’t go lax when it comes to your wellbeing because you mean the most to me. I want you to understand that I would always have your back no matter what happens because you’re so important to me, and I wouldn’t wish for anything less.” I gushed.

She higher me hard as much as the carseat could allow. I held her just as hard, feeling like my emotions was purring in currents. Despite the fact that we were out and anyone could see us through the car windows, I couldn’t stop myself as I pulled her neck backwards, only to kiss her like my life depended on it.

In a way, my life depended on her because I loved her more than I could put into words. Her fingers delved into my hair, pulling, twisting as we fought with our tongues and teeth. It felt so good to finally do something like this, and I couldn’t help but squeeze her ass as she ground her hips to mine in a type of lap dance.

Time seemed to stop, but finally we pulled apart for breath. Her face was flushed and suddenly we were laughing. I had no idea, and I knew she also had no idea why we were laughing, but it felt good, and I couldn’t stop it. I didn’t want to stop it actually because it was so nice to be able to be so careless about everything.

I pulled her forehead close and it rested on mine. Our laughter slowly died down, and all I thought about was how lucky I was to have Lynn in my life.

“We would talk about this anymore. I would solve everything that is needed to be solved. You would only have happiness in our lives. Those types of fools needs to be beaten and punished, not to be feared. You have done nothing wrong, Lynn. You only need to believe that I am saying the fact, and it would get easier to got through your academic journey. Don’t cower for anyone. I will always be here for you,” I said fiercely as I rubbed out nose together.

She sighed in contentment, and that made me feel so much better. “I know you would be,” she said softly.

We stayed like that for a few seconds, and I finally let her move to the other side of the seat. We straightened up quickly, but repeatedly looked at each other. It honestly couldn’t be helped. I just wanted to look at her face repeatedly. It would make me feel so happy, and full.

The ride back home was in that atmosphere. I knew that it would be impossible for her to forget what had happened, but I wanted her to realise that she was not alone, and I was by her side. I didn’t fight to have her attention for nothing. I loved her.

At some point, I used just one hand to drive, and the other to hold her hands in her thigh. It felt so warm, and like home. She was truly irreplaceable, and I had no idea what I would do without her. I loved her more at each point.

“We are home now,” I said softly.

She nodded with a small smile. I drove in front of the mansion, and we scampered out. Without thinking, I tossed the car key to the nearest guard. I was itching to hold Lynn’s hands in mind but I tried to control myself.

She was my step-sibling right now. There were rules to follow.

We slowly made our way inside the house, and I noted that things were a bit chaotic. There were a couple of people around carrying balloons, pillars, and some weird posters. Dad was at the centre of it all, barking orders, and snapping at the works. The maids was also in a frenzy. It was a bubble of energy that made me blink a bit.

I turned to Lynn, but she shrugged. She had no idea what was going on too. With a sigh, I walked over to father. He was in the middle of arranging one of the balloons in order, and I noticed that he was at the point of snapping at someone.

“What is going on, dad?” I asked calmly.

He turned to me, and his face registered that he had just noticed that I had stepped in. “We are having the annual business dinner with the socialites and my business friends. I have no time to talk now, son,” he said stiffly as he barked another other to a maid. Then, he turned back to me. “I think you should make yourself presentable,” he added and walked off.

I inwardly groaned.

This wasn’t what I was aiming at. Ugh! Shouldn’t it be at another timing? I turned to Lynn, and she made a sign that she was leaving. I mentally screamed. I couldn’t also be with Lynn too. It was so annoying when these things happened.

I hated these dinners, and meetings. It was not because of the socialites, but their daughters were a nightmare to handle. I was definitely not looking forward to this one.
