Signals

FIFTY

LEONE

At the safety of my room, I shook off all thoughts of dad and his new wife. I don’t think I would ever be able to see him the same way at all. Well, I can’t him dwell in my head for long. I walked over to the small desk at the side where my phone was charging up.

“If can get through to the orphanage now?”

As soon as I lifted the phone up, I thought against it. It was late, and knowing them, they would be majorly pissed off if I called at this time. I sighed as I walked over to my bed, tossing the phone beside me and thinking of ways to stem my excitement.

No-one would understand how happy I was right now. I could only imagine what mother was doing right now. She must be waiting for me. I would have to video call her or something. I would do anything to keep her close to me. She was my lifeline right now.

It was at that moment, that my phone buzzed. I picked it up, and noted it was Lynn. A smile involuntarily spread across my face. I loved the fact that she didn’t need to wait for my signals to come to me.

Lynn was freer now, and it made me feel at peace with myself. I wanted nothing more but to make her comfortable. She was the second most important woman in my life, and I loved so very much. I wanted her to be happy at all times, and to live her life without a care for the word.

Are You Asleep?

I checked. Did she just text me that? Lynn was the cutest human ever. I wished I could be able to crossover to her side of the room. But, that wasn’t so possible now. I had never made an effort to go to her room before, except that one time. And, it definitely didn’t count.

I Was About To Sleep Though

I hit send, and in moments, we moved through the stage of random texts to serious sex messages. I was the one who started it. I asked her if she wanted to see me topless, and she was so thrilled about it that she said yes.

I could just imagine her blushing.

We talked for hours into the night, and I ended up telling her goodnight, and she should dream of sexy dreams that had me at its centre. That seemed to make it all better. She sent something equally scandalous, and then, we were laughing. I mean, I knew it because of the emoji’s she kept spamming me with.

Good Night, Sunshine - I texted.

Good Night, Leone - she texted back.

It made me smile. We needed some pet names in here. She should have gotten one by now. I tossed my phone on the side, feeling my dick harden painfully. What I wanted was for her to love me like never before, but that wasn’t happening. I would have to sleep my hard-on off. The thought of that made me groan.

Fuck!

LYNETTE

“Lyn, pass me the mayonnaise,” mother said softly.

I absently did as I was told. We were at the kitchen with some of the maids because mom had decided that she wanted to prepare something for her husband. She was dying to show him her skills in the kitchen. The irony was that I would be the one to prepare the food.

Unlike what happened this past 2 weeks making Isabella’s food, nothing myst go wrong this time. Everything had to be perfect. It would be the only way to make up for the mess earlier.

“You see,” mother was saying as she helped to mix the bread crumps with the mayonnaise. “I believe my darling would really love this breakfast we are about to do for him. Well, I wouldn’t make it a point, coming to the kitchen after today, but I think it’s something I can be able to do for him. He would be thrilled. He loves his breakfasts. I think time of the day,” she bubbled on.

I rolled my eyes inwards. I honestly didn’t care about that as I whisked the eggs. It was too much information for me, and I still didn’t know what to make of the man. Plus, the issue with his wife had not redeemed him one bit. He wasn’t worth my time.

With a dreamy sigh, I thought on last night as went through my cookery tasks. It had been something else, and honestly, I liked it.

I had no idea if Leone was able to jerk off at the nonsense we were saying through text to each other. My cheeks flamed hot at the thought. Maybe, I would find a way to ask him? I don’t know. Since, we finally got to make love, and come back home, I thought everything look we through at each other was shouting what we did one at the hotel.

Damn!

I guess this was how people felt when they kept a secret. Maybe, I could distract myself by texting my new friend. I felt awful that I had not asked her where she was this time. She had been there for me subconsciously, and now, she was in trouble, I wasn’t that helpful. That was just too bad of me, and I would rectify it soon.

With a sigh, I poured the egg in the oil. She would have to wait. Leone said he was thinking of doing more dangerous things to me. It made heat pull in between my legs in desire. Damn it! What did he have in mind?

Mother snapped her fingers in front of my face, and I gasped in shock.

She gave me one of her intense stares, and it made me gulp. What was going on now? Did she know something that I didn’t know?

“Mom, please don’t look at me that way. What is happening?” I asked calmly.

She shook her hair at me, and she looked like a model out of a frictional character, no, a magazine to be precise.

“You look dazed,” she stated.

I shifted my gaze from her as I looked at the stuff I was cooking. Was it so evident on my face what I had been thinking?

“Mom, what are you talking about? I’m busy making this bread toast and expensive French bread. How would I be looking dazed?” I asked calmly.

She gave me a look. “I know what I’m saying. You finally have a boyfriend, don’t you? When would I meet this person, and how would I know if he is right for you? Ok, if that makes you uncomfortable, I would just need his name or maybe, a picture…”

“Mom!”

I looked around and the maids pretended that they were doing their duties without looking at us. I dropped the fork on the counter, and turned towards the washing area for fresh tomatoes, and onions.

“Why do you have to exclaim?” Mother said aghast. “I have a right to know these things.”

I swallowed the lump in my throat. “I know I told you about that party, but nothing else came out of it. Please…”

“Is the food not done yet?” Isabella’s little voice sprang up, saving me from resounding to mom’s comments.

She spoke to her, and sneaked some grandaunts in her hands. I tried to do my work quickly, and then, I looked up to find mother looking at me curiously.

Ugh!

Oh, Leone! When I get you, you would have to pay for making me look like a fool right now. I would really deal with you. I turned my attention to mother, and she was so focused on how she took good care of Isabella.

Isabella was a kid, and a good one at that. It was not so difficult to win her over if one showed her kindness. I doubt she even understood the relationship between mom and her dad, but she was willing to make it work, and she was so precious while at it.

“What are you thinking about, sister Lynn?” She asked suddenly.

Mother turned to me, and I knew she was thinking she had been right in the first place. I smiled tightly, and looked at Isabella. This was one problem I had with her. She always said what was on her mind, without any form of reservations.

“Eh,” I said as I tried to place the fried eggs in between two bacons. “I actually was thinking about how adorable you are, and how long this damn food will be done,” I blabbered.

Goodness!

I sounded like an idiot all right. Well, she wouldn’t notice it, right?

“Oh, I’m also starving. I believe this time we won’t need to order breakfast,” she said heartily, eying our work station.

A blush creeped onto my cheeks, and I turned my gaze to what I was doing. “That was all Leone’s fault,” I argued.

“You say?” Leone’s voice boomed from the doorway, making the pan clank on the tiles, and my breath catch in my throat.
