Chapter 132

Melanie's POV

"I'm going to need a little more time to get used to that notion," I told him.

"You can take as much time as you want, little nurse," he said, then added, "Are you going to show me the things you bought?"

I smiled and shook my head. "You know I can't do that, yet. Presents are supposed to be opened on Christmas morning so be patient."

"Patience is not my strong suit, little nurse," he replied.

"Then you're just going to have to learn," I said. "Now I promised, Alice I'll help her bake Christmas cookies so put me down."

"No," he said, burying his face in my neck and breathing in my scent. "You smell so good, Tesoro."

"Thank you, baby but I really got to go to the kitchen especially if you want to eat any of them"

"Five more minutes," he mumbled, holding tighter to me.

I chuckled and snuggled into him. "Okay, baby. Just five more minutes though."

Five minutes turned into twenty more minutes because we couldn't keep our hands off each other and it turned into a full make-out session that had me grinding myself against his erection.

He finally let me go after I promised to make it up to him later tonight.

I didn't have time to put myself together before I rushed down to meet her so it was obvious what I'd been doing.

Alice of course knew what we'd been doing. I could tell by the coy smile she gave me.

"I was beginning to wonder if you'd still be coming downstairs," she said.

"Sorry, I got caught up," I replied.

"I could hear your raised voice all the way down here but I think it's safe to say that you were able to settle your issues," she added.

"You could say so," I responded. "It's just that I'm nervous about meeting his family."

Alice nodded in understanding. "I know why you might feel that way but as I'm guessing he already reassured you, let me put in my two cents and do the same."

"Okay, I'm all ears."

"Mr. Alfonso's family is the most loving and caring that I've ever met. I don't know if you have any more prejudice about the kind of work they do…"

"I don't," I cut her off.

She smiled and continued, "Good, then it won't be a hardship for me to say this. You're good for him. I know this, his sister knows it and that's one of the reasons why you're friends. Now hear me when I say that his family only need to take one look at you for them to know it as well so you have absolutely nothing to worry about because they are going to love you."

"Thank you, Alice you all have been reassuring me and I think I can finally breathe a bit," I said.

"Good, do you think we can get to these cookies now?" she asked.

"Yes, we can. I'm hoping we can do a large batch so we can share it with all the staff," I said.

"Lucky I bought a lot of flour. I think we might just be able to pull it off," she replied.

"Yes! The men in this compound are always looking so serious. They need some serious holiday cheer," I said.

"You make it sound like they're the Grinch or something," Alice commented.

"Could have fooled me. Especially, Ralph," I said.

"Rlaph is the sweetest," she said.

"I know. He just likes to frown a lot and keep quiet but deep down, I know he has a real soft spot for me," I added.

"I'm glad you know that," she replied.

"I also got, Ralph a Christmas present but I haven't told, Adriano about it," I told her.

"I don't think, Adriano is going to like that," Alice said. "You know how jealous he can be."

I waved her off. "Oh, he'll get over it. Adriano has a soft spot for me and he knows that I have a soft spot for, Ralph."

"If you say so," she acquiesced. "Do I need to call Katie and Joy to help out because it looks like we're going to be here a while."

I shook my head and said, "I don't mind the work, we can just put on some Christmas music and work to the tunes."

"Your wish is my command," she said.

For the next few hours, we got to work making batch after batch of cookies while dancing to some upbeat Christmas music.

We made Christmas tree-shaped cookies while I prepared the icing to decorate it with.

Adriano also came downstairs a few times to steal some cookies and I banned him from the kitchen for the foreseeable future.

We worked late into the night but it felt very fulfilling when we were done baking and decorating every single cookie.

"I think we did a good job, don't you?" she asked.

"I definitely do and it was all worth it," I replied. "Now we just wait for the cookies to cool a bit then we can pass it round."

"You need a jar for Adriano's batch?" she asked.

"Is it necessary?" I asked. "He can always come get some from the fridge."

"It's not the same for him and you know it. He has an obsession with the cookies you make that I can't seem to understand," she said.

Yes, he did and I secretly loved that he was obsessed with it. It made me feel good in a way that I couldn't understand.

"Fine. We can separate his batch," I said. "At least this way we can ensure he doesn't eat the cookies meant for others."

"I don't think that's going to stop him from doing what he wants," Alice said.

I shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

"Wait and see what?" a voice asked.

Alice and I turned to see Adriano walking into the kitchen.

"I thought I banned you from the kitchen," I said.

"When are you going to learn, little nurse?"

"Learn what?"

"That nothing can keep you away from me," he said.
