CHAPTER THIRTY ONE
CHAPTER THIRTY ONE
Asher's pov
Her hands were trembling and she was curved like a ball on the ground. I searched the room looking for something anything, shit why the fuck was I anxious. I approached her gently because I knew she was violent, especially when it came to me.
"Rosetta? Can you talk" I said crouching down beside her, her face was all sweaty, her mouth spilled blood and she looked like she was in so much pain, without thinking too much about it I picked her up, something was wrong with her.
She didn't weigh much so it was easy for me to pick her up and run, the halls were empty because everyone was gathered at the announcement hall, shit!
"Fucking get me an ambulance," I said to a camera down the hall. I still couldn't believe people were watching, I know there wasn't any camera inside the rooms but they didn't see her come out. Wasn't that enough to raise an alarm?
I picked up my pace and came out into the open area, a few guards walked around and I yelled for one of them.
"Get me a fucking ambulance right now!" I said and he scrambled away running towards whatever. I stared down at Rosetta and she wasn't looking good, she was turning purple.
"Shit! Shit!" I yelled, so confused I didn't know what to do so I just ran towards the direction of the gate. I guess somebody had been alerted because everyone was outside watching, there was no time to look around and see who had a grin on their face.
I had seen a lot of poisonous substances affect people to tell that she was poisoned, she turning purple was practically the last straw, fuck how long has she been suffering? Because it took a great deal of minutes to get to this stage, her breathing started dropping and the moment I noticed I started yelling at everybody and everyone around.
"Fucking do something or I am going to shoot you in the fucking head!" I said and surely they knew I wasn't bluffing. I took out my gun and pointed it at anyone and everybody, they didn't have a gun so a lot of them backed the fuck away.
I was sweating by the time the ambulance arrived, "the fuck took you so long" I yelled at the woman who was checking her pulse, she looked scared to death but I didn't care. I couldn't understand why I was on my toes and bothered about Rosetta when I hated her.
"I don't want to ask you to leave the back of the ambulance if you're going to stress out my co-worker," the man beside me said and I didn't bother looking at him, guess he had no idea who he was talking to so I didn't reply, I just kept squeezing Rosetta's hand, I don't know what type of injection they give her but her color was already coming up, but the frown on her face wasn't going away.
"I am going to ask you a few questions while we pump her with fluid, she has been poisoned. I need to know what she ate" the man said and I tried to rack my brain, uhh what did I see when I searched the room?
"Uhh sandwich," I said guessing, I couldn't tell what she had had but the crumbs meant it was bread, and we had a sandwich for breakfast so It was ideal that she had eaten a sandwich and it was given to her because she didn't come out for breakfast today, by who?
I pondered on that question, who could have poisoned her, was this still a plot to get her out of the competition, if it was then that was shitty!
"Are you sure it was a sandwich? Cause I need to be precise in my report" he said and I frowned, he was pissing me off, if he wasn't the one who could help her I would have snapped his neck.
"It fucking is," I said and my phone rang, I didn't check the caller ID and just placed it on my ear.
"What?" I said, hostility in my voice but I didn't care.
"Is she fine?"
It was Doom, his voice laced with concern, sighing. I rubbed my forehead and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"I have no fucking clue and these fools aren't doing their job right," I said and the man looked at me with a frown, the lady just eyed me bashfully and I scoffed.
"They are medical professionals, you need to be patient with them," he said and now he was beginning to get me pissed. I was about to tell him to fuck off when another call came in, and without so many words I ended his call.
"What?"
"Boss, I heard, where are you?" My underboss Xavier said and I didn't even know what to say, how he knew where I was at all times still amazed me but he was good.
"Heading to the hospital, meet me there in five, looks like we are out of the competition," I said staring at Rosetta, it was the truth though, it was an automatic disqualification for leaving the competition premises, it wasn't important to me at all but I wonder how she was going to feel about it when she woke up.
"Her vitals are becoming stable, we can't yet tell how bad the poison had affected her until we get to the hospital, we would need your number for follow-up," he said and I stared at him like he had crap on his face.
"When she wakes up ask her for information, I just helped her, don't know who the fuck she is," I said and he looked at me like I had two horns, it was the truth though. I had no fucking clue who this woman Rosetta was, I don't even know her last name.
"Do you at least know her name?" He asked cautiously and I nodded.
