Daddies Or fathers?
That night, Anna once again slept peacefully between the twins, and Marcelo woke up the next morning to see two familiar older men before him.
Of course, he was able to instantly recognize them as his fathers after the painting, and the fact that Jacob had shaved off his beard that morning made them easier to identify.
A small smirk raised on his lip, and Jacob almost cracked up in laughter. “Did he just smirk at me?”
“I think it's a good start.” Jackson asserted humorously, looking at the little boy, who was now climbing from the bed that he was sure he didn’t sleep in.
“I want to see mommy.” Marcelo said to the twins, his little voice was energetic and clear.
Jackson and Jacob shared a smile as they heard their son’s voice for the first time.
“Did you know who we are, little man?” Jacob asked as he squatted to Marcelo’s height.
His dark eyes roamed the boy’s face and he felt
a strange feeling in his heart before he heard Marcelo’s little voice again.
“My daddies?”
Jackson and Jacob laughed after hearing his words of acknowledgment, “don’t let your mommy hear that.” Jacob let out and they laughed again.
Marcelo pouted after listening to them laugh at him repeatedly, but when he remembered that his mother had called them his fathers, and not daddies, he corrected himself.
“Good boy.” Jackson stroked his rough hair and Marcelo beamed happily at them.
“Let's go and see your mommy.” The twins said in sync and the little boy left with them.
It was the next morning, around 11 am, but Anna hadn’t woken up yet.
Yesterday was a major turning point in all their lives, especially Anna, and she could finally rest, as she had confronted everything she had once been terrified of for so many years in just one night.
When the twins arrived in the master room with Marcelo, he was slightly shocked that she was still fast asleep. “Mommy?” He had to rush to her to believe that she was actually sleeping.
With the arrival of Rose, of course, there would be changes everywhere in Jackson’s simple mansion, especially his empty kitchen.
Immediately she woke up early in the morning, she had called the head of the chefs from the main house to report to Jackson’s house. She ordered her to come with, and also buy on her way more than enough foodstuff, as she wasn't really a fan of takeout like her sons.
This was when Luciano found out everything and also Marcelo’s existence. Over the night, he had greatly missed his wife as this would be the first night he would be sleeping alone, making him reflect on his previous actions.
“If not for you, Mr. Walton would probably be in the house, drinking his alcohol and not dead, you know this,” Rose said to her husband on the call, and he sighed heavily.
Last night, he had realized so many times, and one of it was that he was getting old. He might still have the eagerness to run everything like he was a youth, but he didn’t have a new-age intelligence and also strength anymore.
“I apologized for everything already, Roseline.” He admitted his guilt again, his voice on the phone showing every bit of remorse that he felt.
“Apology must be given to whom it is due. You should apologize to Anna, her sister, and also your sons. You can’t do this on the phone, you have to come down here and do the necessary, so Jacob would still allow Marcelo to call you grandfather.”
“I doubt that.” Luciano said as he chuckled softly as he heard his wife’s last words.
“Anyways, get here as soon as you can.”
“I will be on my way.”
After Rose dropped the call with her husband, she turned to see Rhoda and Christian behind her.
“I presume that's uncle,” Rhoda said to Rose, her composure was a bit better than yesterday.
She had heard about David and the unexpected arson that had claimed the lives of his sister, and his father.
She had thought it was just an accident, but Christian had told her that it was arranged by Jacob.
“Hello, Rose.” Christian greeted calmly with respect.
Rose smiled warmly at him in reply and then at the grown woman beside him, who she had practically raised like her daughter. “Amore mio.”
“Aunt, I can't believe you are actually here,” Rhoda flew into Rose’s hands and they both embraced each other affectionately.
“I also need to apologize to Anna and my brothers,” she said to her aunt-in-law and Rose gently patted her hands.
She had heard from Jackson about Rhoda’s contribution to all of this but she couldn’t blame her.
Rose was also aware of what Rhoda had to sacrifice to finally marry the man of her choice, and everything she had to endure after her honeymoon, so she understood her perfectly.
“I’m sure they will be out soon.” Rose asserted before leading them back to the living room.
“Hmm…” Anna rubbed her hand on her closed eyes as she gradually woke up from sleep.
Her half-closed eyes falling on Marcelo, she grins before pulling him to her gently. “Marcey baby, why did you wake up so early today.” She grunted softly as she sprayed peppered kisses on his gorgeous face.
“Mommy, you are the one that slept so long,” Marcelo replied, before pointing at Jacob and Jackson that had been along with him for Anna to finally wake up from her long sleep.
The last time the twins had seen her sleep so long was after that night they had come back from Sodom when she got divorced by her ex-husband.
“Uhm,” Anna’s body shuddered as she watched the twins approach her with their eyes filled with love and adoration in their eyes.
Her eyes moved back to Marcelo, who also had a huge smile on his small face. That was when Anna knew that she had gotten everything she had ever wanted, and more, and if there was anything in the future that would terrify her, she would easily overcome it with these three men beside her.
The End.
