Chapter 33 Meeting the wizard
Chapter 33 Meeting the wizard
Alpha Elijah Alastair - POV
“Where were you all night?” Zane questioned as I walked into the packhouse, exhausted.
“Did you encounter an issue with something?” I asked him as I walked past him.
“No, but I was a little worried when you were not in the pack. You know there has not been a single attack from the Eclipse Moon pack. And I have a feeling that they are planning something bigger.” Zane voiced out his concern as we came to a stop in front of my office.
“Maximus is too busy tending to his mate. I don't think he is planning anything regarding us just yet.” I asserted as I walked inside and made a beeline for the coffee machine. “Did you find a witch?” I asked him just as the machine finished pouring the coffee.
“I worked all night and found a contact. But I am not sure if he is still in that location.”
“Did you try to contact him?” I asked as I took a sip of the coffee, which tasted like heaven after the ordeal I went through all night.
“He doesn't have a contact number,” Zane explained.
“Are you sure he helps werewolves?” I asked him when he nodded his head.
“Many werewolves go to him. But his services are a little expensive.”
“I don't care how much it costs. Is it possible to meet him today?” I asked Zane while my eyes drifted to the calendar.
Twelve days more.
“We can go and check at his shop," Zane told me. I drank the rest of my coffee in one gulp and placed it back on the table and grabbed my coat.
“Then let's go,” I told him. We walked out of my office, and as we walked out of the pack house, I saw Zane’s car parked in the driveway.
“Where’s my car?” I asked him with a frown.
“You look tired, Elijah. I think it would be best if I drive. It is a three-hour journey.” Zane suggested it, and I didn't even argue as we got in and soon drove out of the pack. “Elijah.” I felt Zane shake my shoulder when I woke up. “We are here," he told me as he turned off the engine and got out.
I looked at the deserted town when I grabbed my phone and got out as well. The air felt dry while the sun burned my skin as I wore my sunglasses and looked around. There were a lot of dilapidated buildings, and not many people were around.
“This is a fucking ghost town.” I commented when Zane stood beside me.
“It wasn't like this eight years ago.”
“Where is his shop?” I asked him when I saw Zane look around.
“The name of the shop is Rocks and Mugs.” Zane told me, and I began looking around as well.
“Should we ask someone?”
“I think that sounds like a better idea.” Zane told me when we spotted an old woman walking about from a grocery store. Zane walked to her and began to chat, and a few minutes later he came back.
“She told me that it's a few blocks down this road. But the place is always closed.”
“Well, let's give it a try.” I told him as we started walking.
“I think this is it.” Zane said as we stopped in front of a small shop with a glass window. The building looked like it had seen better days, with the paint peeling off while the glass had a crack. I walked to the door when I saw a closed sign hanging inside.
I stepped forward and knocked on the door. For almost five minutes I didn't hear anything when I finally heard footsteps approaching the door, and the door flung open. “What do you want? Can't you read the sign?” the man yelled at me. He looked like he was in his early forties with salt-and-pepper hair and a permanent scowl etched on his face.
“Are you Osborn?” Zane asked him when a frown appeared on his face.
“Who are you?” he asked with suspicion.
“I am Alpha Alastair. I want your help.”
“I don't offer help, son. I offer services," the man retorted.
"Okay, I want one of your services.”
“That might cost you some money.”
“I don't care. I need to know a few things about spells. I will pay the amount you ask.” I told him when a gleeful smile appeared on his face.
“Come in," he said as he opened the door wider and allowed us inside. The place was a mess with paper scattered on the floor, and the shelves had collected so much dust you couldn't tell the color of the wood.
Osborn led us to a room at the back, and we walked in; the atmosphere was completely transformed. This room was spotless, with a bookshelf in the corner that had various spellbooks and a large tea table in the center.
“So what do you want to know?” he asked me as soon as we took our seats.
“I want to know if there are any spells that can alter a person’s appearance and scent." I asked him.
“Of course, there is one spell. But not all witches could do it. That is one of the most difficult spells, and no one performs it nowadays.” Osborn explained when my eyes brighten with hope.
“How long would that spell last before the person’s original face comes back?”
“That depends on how strong the spell is, Alpha Alastair. But usually twenty-four hours or two days," he explained.
“Is there a way to force someone to change back into their original self?” Zane asked him when a thoughtful look crossed Osborn's face.
“There is one particular potion I can make that would force the person to turn to their original self. But it's not that simple. I need three days to get the potion ready.”
“Get the potion ready; I will come to collect it in three days.” I told him and got up from my place, but before I could leave, Osborn spoke.
“What about my payment?” he asked me with a nervous smile on his face. I took out a wad of cash and placed it on the desk.
“Get it ready.”
