Chapter 164 Chapter 164

Chapter 164 Chapter 164

After arriving home, Kai carried Amelia back into the house and brought her to their bedroom on the second floor. His steps were hurried, yet still careful, as if the woman in his arms was something incredibly fragile that could shatter at any moment.

Slowly, Kai laid Amelia down on the bed. His hands moved gently as he removed her shoes, then pulled the blanket over her body neatly.

After that, Saga sat down at the edge of the bed.
His gaze never left Amelia’s pale face. The face that once always looked cheerful now only showed wounds and exhaustion she could no longer hide.

His hand slowly reached out, wiping away the remaining tears still dampening Amelia’s cheeks.

“Forgive me… I’m truly sorry for everything that happened,” Kai whispered hoarsely, his voice filled with regret.

Amelia remained silent with her eyes closed.
“I didn’t know what really happened that day,” Kai continued softly. “Ezra accused Tania of making you fall… but Tania said you slipped because you didn’t want to talk to her.”

Kai gently fixed Amelia’s slightly messy hair. His fingers trembled faintly.

“If what Ezra said is true…” Kai’s jaw tightened, “I will never forgive Tania. I’ll take revenge on her myself.”

The room fell silent again.
Kai let out a long sigh before lowering his head to kiss Amelia’s forehead and cheek gently.

“I love you, Amelia,” he murmured sadly. “I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. But you never realized it.”

Kai’s gaze drifted far away, returning to an event four years ago. To the first day he met a girl named Keysa Amelia Rose.

Flashback on

“Good afternoon…”

A soft female voice made Kai, who had been busy playing with his phone, immediately lift his head.
A girl in a gray school uniform stood at the entrance of Uncle Jordan’s living room.

For a moment, Kai froze.

The girl had a beautiful face with shoulder-length hair falling neatly around her lovely features. Her skin was fair and flawless, and her petite figure only reached about Kai’s shoulder.

"Beautiful…" Kai thought unconsciously.

“Good afternoon,” everyone in the living room greeted back.

“Amelia, come here!” Uncle Jordan called. “Let me introduce you to Uncle Osvar and Aunt Miranda.”

“Yes, Uncle.”
Amelia walked closer politely.

“This is Amelia, Kiara’s younger sister,” Aunt Maura added with a smile.

Amelia politely shook hands with Osvar and Miranda. She also shook Kai’s hand courteously, as well as Ezra’s. To the second son of the Maheswara family, Amelia also extended her hand to introduce herself.

So her name is Amelia, Kai thought again.
A strange feeling suddenly filled his chest the moment the back of his hand brushed against Amelia’s soft hand.

“Amelia has grown up now,” Miranda said admiringly. “She’s so beautiful and polite.”

“Yes, very beautiful,” Osvar added. “The last time we met, she was still little. If I remember correctly, she hadn’t even started school yet.”

Miranda smiled warmly. “What grade are you in now?”

“Twelfth grade, Auntie,” Amelia answered politely. “I’m about to graduate, just waiting for my exam results.”

“Are you sure you’ll pass?” Ezra suddenly asked.
Amelia immediately shot him an annoyed look. “Of course I will,” she replied shortly, sounding slightly irritated.

“Cute,” Ezra whispered while chuckling softly.
Kai immediately shook his head slightly. He knew his younger brother’s personality very well. The moment he saw a pretty girl, he would instantly start teasing her.

“Don’t do anything weird,” Kai whispered as a warning to his brother.

But Ezra only grinned mischievously.

“Amelia, go change your clothes first. After that, help Mom prepare lunch,” Aunt Maura instructed.

“Yes, Auntie.”
Amelia immediately headed upstairs to her room.

Once Amelia left, Jordan began explaining that Amelia was not very close to her biological family because she had spent most of her childhood living with him instead.

He also explained why Amelia had not attended Kai and Kiara’s engagement party. He said Amelia had gone home early because of school assignments.

But of course, that was a lie. The truth was, Amelia had gone home after arguing with Kiara. And as usual, her mother defended Kiara more. Upset, Amelia chose to leave before the event began.

Not long after, Amelia came downstairs after changing clothes. This time, she wore a simple T-shirt and casual pants. She helped her mother prepare lunch, then returned to the living room to accompany the guests while waiting for her father and Kiara to arrive.

But time continued to pass.
Lunch hour had already passed, yet Harri and Kiara still had not arrived.

“Should we eat first?” Jordan suggested awkwardly because his guests had been waiting so long.
“Harri and Kiara can join us later.”

“It’s alright,” Miranda replied kindly. “We’ll wait.”

“Yes, and if possible, I’d like to see the garden too,” Osvar said as he stood up. “It’ll help pass the time while waiting for them.”

“Of course, of course.”
Gladly, Jordan and his wife brought Osvar and Miranda to see their garden.

Now only Amelia, Kai, and Ezra remained in the living room.

Kai was still busy with his phone, though occasionally his eyes glanced toward the two people in front of him who kept exchanging displeased looks.

“Why are you so different from your sister?” Ezra suddenly asked.

“Of course we’re different. We’re not twins,” Amelia replied casually.

“Oh…” Ezra nodded as if he understood. “I thought you were twins. Turns out you’re not, that’s why you’re different.”

Amelia immediately glared at him irritably.
“Next time, if your eyesight is bad, wear glasses,” she mocked casually. “So you won’t mistake people.”

“Wooow… so you’re feisty too?” Ezra rested his chin on his hand while grinning mischievously. “What do you eat? Your mouth is so spicy.”

“Twenty kilos of devil chili,” Amelia answered carelessly. “So I can spit fire at crocodile playboys that escaped from captivity.”

“Ha… ha… ha…”
Kai, who had been trying to stay quiet the whole time, finally burst into loud laughter while clutching his stomach.

“You’re pretty funny too,” Ezra said while leaning forward slightly. “Want to marry me?”

“No,” Amelia answered immediately without thinking.

“You do want to,” Ezra teased while wiggling his eyebrows. “My life would definitely be more colorful if I married you.”

“My life would definitely become miserable if I married you,” Amelia replied with a faint smile.

“HAHAHAHA!”

This time Kai truly could not hold back his laughter anymore.

While shaking his head, Kai looked at Ezra mockingly.
“Looks like your charm doesn’t work this time, Ezra.”
