Seated in the luxury car, Sean’s peach blossom eyes reflected Jacob’s composed figure: “Didn’t expect me to snatch you from class, did you, brat?”
“If you’re scared, just cry. I won’t laugh.”
After all, he was his biological son.
If the boy got frightened, Sean wouldn’t mind comforting him.
Jacob’s obsidian–dark eyes locked onto him, and with just that one glance. Sean shivered involuntarily.
How could this kid’s aura resemble someone so much?
Sean hated being stared at like this. He reached out and pinched the boy’s cheek.
“Didn’t your mommy teach you how to please your own father?”
Jacob nearly rolled his eyes but played along instead.
“My mommy says I don’t have a father.”
Sean frowned, only to hear the boy declare with supreme arrogance: “My mommy said my dad died when I was born. That I jinxed him to death.”
Sean:
Katherine actually told a child such lies?
Knowing full well the man missed the curse, Jacob sweetly inquired:

“Uncle, are you really my birth father?”
“If you are, doesn’t that make you a dead man right now?”
Sean’s face darkened completely.
“You want me to rip your mouth off?

A flicker of mockery crossed Jacob’s eyes. “Uncle, are you really that petty?
Teacher always taught us only cowards use violence against those weaker. Especially children like me.”
Sean’s grip on Jacob’s cheek slackened. He then hauled the boy over his shoulder and stepped out of the car.
“You little menace. If I don’t teach you a proper lesson today, I’m not your old man.”
Jacob remained perfectly calm as Sean carried him over his shoulder toward the villa.
He scoffed, “Uncle, if you really are my father, aren’t you ashamed of yourself?”
Sean halted abruptly.
“What do you mean?”
“My mother raised me all by herself and never once hit me. Yet you lay hands on me the moment you find me. Don’t you feel guilty?”
Jacob’s large eyes radiated solemn conviction.
Sean froze, transfixed by the child’s striking, deep–set gaze.

Though uncomfortable being carried, Jacob maintained composure. “I always imagined my father was“-he paused, recalling Willie’s description-“a superman who saves the world.”
“He’d appear whenever I got bullied and chase all the bad guys away.”
“But I never dreamed the person hurting me would be the hero I idolized.”
A superman who saves the world?
Sean’s anger evaporated instantly.
Yet remembering Jacob’s earlier words, he hauled the boy into a children’s room.
“I’m not hitting you not because I lack courage. Today’s our first meeting as father and son–I don’t want things to get ugly.”
“Stay put and nothing unpleasant will happen.”
Jacob’s lips curved slightly, a fleeting flash of triumph in his eyes.
“Don’t worry, Mom taught me manners since I was little.”
Sean was speechless–since when was this kid polite?
If he had manners, would he dare to mess with me?
“Tell me,” Sean demanded, “that time at the hotel–when you dumped wine on me, then stole my clothes and phone–was that your mom’s idea?”
If Jacob said yes, Sean would have grounds to fight for custody.
Jacob wasn’t stupid. “No clue what you’re talking about.

Got proof?”
Sean felt this kid would be the death of him.
“Bad boys who don’t own up to mistakes get no dinner tonight!“.
Sean stormed out of the playroom and plopped onto the living room sofa. He had servants arrange an array of desserts in plain sight.
Jacob averted his gaze, busying himself with toys prepared earlier in the room.
Meanwhile, Katherine was nearly frantic with worry.
She’d finally tracked down the address Sean had mentioned last time- Seaside Villa–and urged her driver there immediately.
During the ride, she resisted calling Maureen, not wanting to alarm
her.
“Jacob,” she whispered, knuckles white, “please be safe. If anything happens to you… I wouldn’t want to live.”
Finally arrived outside the villa area.
Katherine hurriedly got out of the car.
But when she reached the main gate, the security guard wouldn’t open
it for her.
Unable to reach Sean on the phone, she had no choice but to shout at the gate: “Sean, you shameless scumbag, come out here or I’ll call the police!”
She didn’t dare actually call the police; if things escalated and Geoffrey

discovered something, it would be bad.
Sean was still locked in a battle of wits with Jacob, lazily scrolling through his phone on the sofa, when a bodyguard reported Katherine was making a scene outside.
“Chase her away. Tell her if she wants money or goods, she should list them on paper and exchange with me within days.
No extensions!
As for our son, tell her to abandon that fantasy!”
“Yes.”
After the bodyguard left.
Within ten minutes, Katherine was dumped in a desolate area.
