“And… I’m not sure if Geoffrey’s kindness to her stems only from gratitude.”
Katherine understood: “Andrea’s been playing both sides all these years, surely because of Geoffrey.”
“She’s his first love too. Men never forget their first love. Just let it go. Once you’re pregnant, we’ll leave. Who cares if Geoffrey’s being deceived?”
Katherine secretly hoped Geoffrey would discover the truth at his proudest moment–realizing he’d been played for a fool by a woman, drowning in regret.
“Mm.”
After their talk, Maureen washed up and prepared to leave, only to find the Maybach parked at her doorstep.
Inside the car, Geoffrey sat in the back seat.
Last night, he’d sat in the car all night without getting a single call from Maureen.
Seeing Maureen walk out, he rolled down the window, exhaustion written across his face.
“Get in.”
Maureen thought he’d just returned to confront her, so she stayed put.
“Say what you need to say right here.”
Weariness shadowed Geoffrey’s features. “Two weeks left. We’ll keep trying.”
A flicker of surprise crossed Maureen’s eyes before she got in.
Geoffrey didn’t mention last night’s incident with Andrea. Maureen didn’t ask why he’d only just returned.
The driver started the engine.
“We’re heading to the old estate today.”

Geoffrey stated.
Maureen frowned. “Why the old estate?”
“The Harvest Festival’s in a few days.”
Geoffrey paused. “Didn’t you always say you wanted us to live there together?”
Maureen stayed silent for a beat.
Truth was, back then she’d wanted the old estate not for the place itself, but to be with Geoffrey.
But after all this time, none of that mattered anymore.
The two of them… impossible.
Last night, she’d thought it through.
Even if she didn’t conceive this time, she already had Geoffrey’s sperm. Plenty of chances left.
As for Steven, she already knew the map of Springwood and had a way to get him out.
Her only worry was that Geoffrey wouldn’t give up easily–even if she and Steven escaped, he’d hunt her down again.
So she could only force herself to nod in agreement: “Alright.”
At the old mansion.
From the servants to the masters, no one respected Maureen.
Geoffrey never knew Maureen hated this place most.
Drizzling rain veiled the world in mist.
Following Geoffrey out of the car, Maureen gazed at the endless Sutton estate, feeling only oppression.
Seventeen more days…
A bodyguard held a black umbrella as she trailed Geoffrey inside in her high heels.
The butler Jonathan had long waited with maids. Since delivering flowers to Pearl last time, his impression of Maureen worsened, though outwardly respectful.

.:.
Beside him stood his daughter Jessica, dressed impeccably.
Maureen instantly noticed the woman’s poorly concealed admiration for Geoffrey.
“Master, your rooms are prepared. Jessica will attend to you and Ms. Ramirez during your stay.”
After instructing, Jonathan reminded his daughter before leaving.
Jessica stepped forward cautiously.
“Master, do you require anything else?”
“No, you can leave now.”
Geoffrey disliked the crowded servants in the old mansion most, which is why he moved out early to live alone.
Jessica left somewhat awkwardly.
After she left, Maureen and Geoffrey quickly reached his room. The room was uniformly black and white, just like Geoffrey himself–meticulous, with no extra colors.
Maureen changed into a pair of shoes and entered, reaching out to pat the water droplets on
her coat.
The man’s tall figure suddenly blocked her way. Before she could react, Geoffrey directly picked her up.
“Did you forget something today?”
They were face to face, and Maureen smelled the faint scent of tobacco on the man.
She knew he had started smoking, but these days, she had hardly smelled it.
Was it from last night or early this morning?
Seeing Maureen still dazed and unresponsive, Geoffrey could no longer hold himself back. He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her hard.
Maureen’s breathing grew labored.
The thought that Geoffrey might have kissed Andrea last night filled her with nausea.
Her back pressed against the cold wall, she shoved him with all her strength.

Geoffrey felt as though claws raked his heart, tearing off his coat in one swift motion.
“No…”
Maureen knew his intent and frantically resisted.
Geoffrey mistook her struggle for coyness, continuing to peel away her clothes.
Cornered, desperation stained the corners of Maureen’s eyes crimson.
She sank her teeth into his shoulder.
The man groaned, halting to stare at her in disbelief:
“What are you doing?”
“Put me down!”
Maureen’s eyes slightly reddened.
Geoffrey cupped her face: “Never.”
Realizing he dismissed her protests while claiming her lips,
Maureen’s mind flashed to last night–had he held Andrea like this? Her fingers dug into his shoulders like talons.
The man seemed impervious to pain.
“Geoffrey, put me down!”
He refused relentlessly.
These days, her resistance and coldness only fueled his obsession-
