Chapter 150
Maureen froze slightly.
It seemed he hadn’t remembered a word she said.
She dodged directly.
Geoffrey’s eyes opened slightly, filled with confusion. He grabbed Maureen’s chin and kissed
her.
This time it wasn’t gentle at all. Domineering and rough.
Maureen pushed against him with her hands, trying to dodge, but she couldn’t escape.
Just as Geoffrey was about to go further, a rapid phone ring sounded.
He frowned.
“What now?”
He reached for the phone. It was Maureen’s call. He glanced at the note: Katherine.
Unhappily, he handed the phone to Maureen: “Your friend.”
Maureen said nothing. She took the phone, got off the bed, and walked to the balcony to answer the call.
“Katherine, what’s wrong?”
Katherine didn’t know Maureen and Geoffrey were in the same room. She immediately told her about today’s events.
“Do you think Sean has a problem with his brain?”
After hearing this, Maureen also found it strange,
Katherine thought for a moment, then asked: “Katherine, that kid he mentioned… it couldn’t be Jacob, could it?”
The only child around Katherine was Jacob.

“Little guy?”
Katherine looked stunned. “Right.
I forgot to tell you something. Last time I picked Jacob up from kindergarten, Sean happened to be grabbing him. Good thing I was there…”
Katherine felt a chill.
Maureen couldn’t believe it either.
Why would Sean keep targeting Jacob? Was it really just because Jacob accidentally bumped into him at Nicholas‘ 70th Birthday Bash?
She knew Sean held grudges, but surely he wouldn’t go after a child like this.
“Katherine, do you think Jacob’s hiding something from us?”
Maureen always trusted Jacob – he acted like a little adult.
Jacob rarely lied, unless… unless he was afraid of getting hurt…
“What could a four–year–old possibly hide?”
Katherine’s brain froze for a second. “Reenie, don’t overthink it. I won’t take Sean’s money.
Screw that kid nonsense.”
“Mm.”
Maureen paused before asking, “What about your dad?”
“Stalling. He can’t exactly drag me to the Robsons, can he?”
Katherine sounded puzzled. “No clue what Albert sees in me. We’ve never even met.”
Scott wasn’t Noelle. Maureen knew deep down he still cared about Katherine and wouldn’t
force her.
Just didn’t know what would happen with Sean…
While talking with Katherine, Maureen kept watching Geoffrey’s movements inside the floor- to–ceiling window. The man lazily gazed at her, noticing her prolonged call, and began rising.
Maureen hurriedly asked Katherine to help watch over Jacob these next few days before

hanging up immediately.
Geoffrey approached Maureen in his black robe.
“What did you talk about?
Chatted that long, then hung up when I arrived?”
As he spoke, he reached for Maureen’s phone.
Maureen quickly pulled it behind her back.
“Everyone has secrets, right?”
That simple motion made Geoffrey more determined to uncover what she hid from him.
Noticing his stare, Maureen added: “I told her you ditched me yesterday to see Andrea.
Happy now?”
Geoffrey caught Maureen’s unease from the corner of his eye and didn’t press further.
Maureen took a step back, evading his intense gaze.
“I’m going to wash up.”
She’d barely taken two steps when Geoffrey seized her wrist, pulling her against his chest. His breath came ragged against her ear: “Let’s continue.”
Maureen went rigid in his arms.
Before she could refuse, his lips were already tracing her jawline, trailing down her neck…..
“I don’t want-”
Maureen pushed against his chest.
Geoffrey stilled, breathing heavily.
Ever since their first time, resisting these urges grew harder–his craving for her only deepened.
“Why?”
The man’s voice scraped raw.

Not waiting for an answer, he demanded: “If you didn’t want this, why come back to me?”
“What do you actually want?
Tell me!”
“Anything within my power–it’s yours.”
Never had Geoffrey felt so utterly at a loss. He’d investigated Maureen’s past, uncovered her overseas work, knew she’d lived with Gareth for
years.
Yet her sudden return–her presence here–remained a mystery.
Maureen winced as his embrace tightened, pain blooming across her shoulders.
“Let me go.”
Geoffrey refused. Releasing her felt like inviting her disappearance–again.
While the two were at a stalemate, the doorbell rang downstairs, interrupting everything.
Geoffrey changed his clothes and went downstairs.
Heather was already waiting downstairs. Seeing him come down, she hurried forward.
“Geoff, no matter what, I want you to bring that child to see me today.”
A few days ago, after learning Geoffrey had brought back a child, she sent someone to investigate. But Geoffrey’s secrecy was too good; until now, she hadn’t been able to find out
about the child.
After learning her purpose, Geoffrey said coldly, “The child isn’t mine.”
Heather’s mind went blank.
“What did you say?”
She had longed for a grandson for so long, and it turned out not to be.
“Then whose child is he?”
