Chapter130
Maureen brushed it off as paranoia and didn’t dwell on it.
Unbeknownst to her, a man in a baseball cap–posing as a taxi driver–had been watching her relentlessly for days.
With either bodyguards or drivers constantly around
Maureen, Frank found it impossible to approach her. He could only bide his time.
Today was no different.
He followed Maureen’s car, contemplating how to strike.
Earlier, he’d texted Andrea:
“Andie, I told you I’d protect you, and I will. Trust me–I’ll wipe out all your threats.”
Andrea was mid–facial treatment when Carl Clark’s message flashed on her screen, accompanied by a photo.
The image showed a sleek Bentley parked ahead.
Her eyes turned cold as she typed her reply:
“Do this, and I’ll return to Los Angeles with you.”
With that promise, Frank would give his life without hesitation.
He pressed the accelerator, heading straight for Maureen’s car when the road was empty.

Maureen and the driver sensed something wrong.
The driver swerved desperately to avoid it.

But the taxi charged at top speed, impossible to dodge.
Crash!
The violent impact dented the entire car body, flipping it over.
The driver lost consciousness instantly.
Maureen’s head bled, yet she remained aware, seeing crimson stain her vision.
Summoning all her strength, she struggled to open the door and crawl out.
Then a man in a baseball cap with stubbled beard loomed over her, wearing a twisted expression.
“Help..me..”
Still thinking it an accident, Maureen pleaded weakly.
Without hesitation, Frank slammed the door shut, staring coldly.
“I’m not here to save you.”
Maureen’s pupils contracted, ears ringing.
Frank added: “I’m here to end your life!”
Stunned, Maureen whispered: “I…don’t know you.”
Her memory held no recognition of this man–why would he want her life?

Frank sat leaning against the window, blocking her escape.
“Want to know why I’m harming you?”
Maureen nodded with effort.
Frank didn’t mince words: “Blame yourself for bullying Andie.”
Andie…
Andrea…
“What are you to her?”
Maureen refused to die without answers.
“I’m the man she loves. Her man.”
Frank enunciated each word deliberately.
Those words made Maureen recall Andrea telling Geoffrey days earlier about a stalker visiting her home.
She ventured cautiously: “Are you her fan?”
She knew some fans turned dangerously obsessive.
Frank snapped: “Fan?
I’ve been with her since before her fame.”
“I was her first. Her boyfriend, Overseas, we were inseparable,”
Maureen froze in fresh shock.
She knew Andrea’s past wasn’t as clean–cut as she claimed.

But meeting an ex–boyfriend from abroad?

Her mind raced for escape routes. Seeing his obsession with Andrea, she decided to deliberately provoke him.
“How come I heard her tell Geoffrey that you’re… her crazy fan?”
“You’re lying!”
Maureen forced herself to ignore the pain and continued: “Don’t you know? She’s going to marry Geoffrey.”
“That’s nonsense.”
Frank had investigated–Geoffrey never intended to marry Andrea.
“How could I lie? You know me. You should know I’m Geoffrey’s wife, right?”
“She’d do anything for Geoffrey. Didn’t you visit her recently? She claimed you assaulted her, then ran to Geoffrey crying about some pervert showing up at her place.”
Maureen spoke while watching his expression.
Right after the car flipped, she’d pressed the emergency device on her hearing aid.
Gareth had installed it years ago, fearing she might face medical emergencies. One press alerted Justin to her danger.
She prayed Justin would send help soon!
Frank adored Andrea too much to believe Maureen’s words.

“You’re lying! She loves me. She just promised we’d go to Los Angeles together.”
Maureen realized Andrea had played him completely.
“You poor thing. Why would she abandon her comfortable life to flee abroad with you? If I die, she becomes the rightful Mrs.
Sutton.”
“And you aren’t far from prison yourself.“‘
Frank jolted awake at those words.
He slammed his fist against the glass.
Maureen flinched backward, feigning composure: “Don’t believe me? Call her. Tell her I’m dead.”
Without hesitation, Frank grabbed his phone and dialed
Andrea.
Frustration surged–the call wouldn’t connect.
Andrea had blocked him…
“Seems she’s afraid of being implicated with you.”
“Get me and the driver out now, and I won’t press charges. At worst, it’s an operational error caused the accident. No
casualties, no criminal liability.”
Frank’s mind was in turmoil, uncertain whether to trust Maureen.
Maureen’s voice grew faint, her strength clearly fading.
Sudden commotion erupted nearby. Whatever Frank saw

Maureen’s vision blurred, a tall figure swimming toward her through the haze.
Darkness swallowed her before she could identify the man.
This is feeling the man’s shoulders were broad and warm.
Hospital room.
Geoffrey’s tall and slender frame stood on the balcony, cigarette glowing. Scratches covered his hands, the bones of his knuckles starkly distinct.
He was about to light a cigarette when he glanced back at Maureen lying in the hospital bed and crushed it instead.
