Chapter 30
"Stay away from me. Sylvie pointed a finger at Lana. She tried so hard to fight it, but the tears were finally coming down.
"I've never liked you and I know you don't like me either, but I've never done anything to be in your way, have 1 I've always med to avoid you, yet you wouldn't let me be. Why You keep jeopardizing my projects, stealing my clients, and now this? This embarrassment She sniffed, shaking her head. Tll not let it go, Lana. For what you did today. I'll make sure you pay?
"You liar! What're you talking about? I didn't do anything" Lana yelled tearfully
Sylvie said nothing else as she turned around and left.
Yeah, to hell with work. She was done for today.
Lana felt embarrassed. She was furious. Although, Sylvie had taken her by surprise and a lot of people had seen that, it wasn't a good thing she got beaten by that bitch in front of so many others. She hoped Rage would be doing something about it
She could barely control her anger as she followed him into his office after he asked her to. She figured he was trying to apologize and get her to calm down
What really happened?" He asked, as soon as they were in his office.
Lana her hands crossed below her chest, exploded.
"Why? Isn't it clear enough? The bitch attacked me! I was just on my own, speaking to Tom when she came out of nowhere like the fucking ghost that she is and hit me! I barely even had the chance to retaliate Her chest burnt with the recollection of how Sylvie had humiliated her.
Kage, hunching over his desk asked. "She said something about you making her lose clients and all. What was that about?" Lana scoffed in disbelief. Why was he questioning her like she was the culprit? "Well I didn't do such a thing. Kage! There are all lies, obviously. It wouldn't be the first time she'd be lying, would in
Rage looked away, his hands clenching into fists. Something about the way Sylvie cried didn't sit well with him. Hold on Lana went closer. You're not trying to fault me, are you? Tell me you're not taking that bitch's side."
"She's not a betch" He snarled, thumping his fist on the desk.Text © owned by Nôdaisynovel.com.

Lana con bebeve it. Everyone new Kage was rude. He was rude to her most of the time, but this. He was fighting for Clupter 36
He gathered his things and left the office, leaving Lana behind.
Stephanie wasn't home when Sylvie arrived. She cried some more, wishing there was someone she could talk to She tried calling Westley, but his number was busy.
After a while, she managed to get some friends to go drinking with. Its been pretty long since she visited a bar.
One of the things Sylvie's doctor had advised her to avoid while pregnant was alcohol. But the concluded a cup or two wouldn't hurt. She's missed having it, and after that night, she wasn't going to take any more
Besides, she really needed it, considering what she had gone through for the day. Plus, her tolerance level
was way below one percent. Half a shot and she could already be drunk. She just needed something to distract her from the pain from the embarrassment she had to endure that day.
She wore a short jean skirt and a big top - big enough to shield her bump. Then, she and two of her friends went off to Haven Bar and Grill - their favorite.
There were a lot of people there already, drinking, dancing and making merry. Sylvie and her friends sat at a counter and ordered some shots. And while Sylvie's friends took several shots, she kept herself to one-which she still hadn't finished.
In no time, her friends were drunk and left her to join the dance floor
Sylvie took another tiny sip from her shot glass. Of course, she was tempted to have more, but she worried for her babies However, when she thought more on the ordeal of the day, she felt so much pain that she felt the strong urge to drink more The disgust on the men's f She downed the rest of the drink in her glass.
"One more," she waved at the bartender.
He smiled as he took the empty glass from her. "Of course, pretty
One more shot and she was high as fuck. Whatever the bartender had given to her was pretty strong.
She wasn't the best person on earth. She should be thinking of the babies. Hopefully, after tonight, she was never going to get drunk, ever again.
"Sylvie, come on! You're missing out on the fun!" Cindy returned to grab her hand.
Sylvie was already chuckling. She figured she could indeed, use some dance moves. Happily, she stood up and blended into the crowd.
'How did I get here?' it was the one question Kage couldn't stop asking himself as he walked into Haven Bar and Grill with three of his friends.
It wasn't his first time visiting a club, but it was his first time being in that very club. Usually, he did classics. The type where you'd hardly find so many people because the bouncers did a lot of screening. If you didn't look rich enough, you wouldn't be let in. You'd hardly find people dancing on the floor due to the fewer numbers. Over there, strippers did the entertainment.
But tonight, Kage's friends managed to convince him to go to Haven Bar and Grill. His friends were filthy rich which was the only reason he considered it and convinced him it was better in such places. But stepping foot in it already, he wanted to go
back out.
There were too many people. He didn't like being in the company of people who weren't worthy to be in his company Imagine one of them bumping into him and telling him to watch it. On a normal day, a miscreant like him wouldn't even the chance to be near his company "I don't like it here. Kage mumbled as he and his friends took their seats at the VIP' corner. Even what they referred to as the VIP corner was still a joke A lot of people could still have access to them.
VIP was at the top of the room, giving them across to everything below, where the dance floor also w
Relax, K. We just got here," Abel chuckled.
Drinks were served, and while Kage's friends seemed to be having a really good time, Kage was counting his seconds out of there.
The air smelt dirty-to him. There were too many people, and if there was one thing he hated, it wes crowds. In a matter of minutes, he'd be out of there.
Some girls - almost naked - came over to their table. His friends didn't waste any time in grabbing their asses and doing as they pleased, but there was none of them that attracted Rage.
His mind drifted to the reason he'd agreed to hang out with his friends in the first place. He had been restless after the scene at the company, seeing Sylvie cry and in so much pain. It wasn't the first time he was seeing her cry, yet that had hit differently.
He had asked around and gotten answers in what happened at the meeting. Instead of her sketch showing up on the projector. there had been porn images instead. He could imagine how embarrassing it must have been for her, considering the fact that she was asked to unhealthy reason, they made him feel pity for her.
Her tears made more sense. And for an unh
His thoughts were distracted when someone touched him.
"Now, why's the most handsome sitting alone when I can do a lot of things? A lady leaned and whispered into his ear so he alone could hear.
Her hand was still on his shoulder, moving tenderly on him. She was halfly dressed - just like the others and gave Kage a beckoning smile. Staring at her hand, it irritated him.
"Take it off, the ice in his tone was enough for her to flinch away.
She was displeased but didn't dare utter a word and just walked away.
Kage went back to staring into the distance, only this time, his gaze fell to the dance floor where someone gripped his
attention.
It took him a moment to recognize the face, and when he did, he was taken a
abacked.
"What the hell?" He mumbled. His friends couldn't hear him over the loud music.
On the dance floor was Sylvie, wearing something really short, her big top contrasting.
Her hair was styled into tow ponytails kke a high school student. She was drunk- obviously - because she kept jumping and laughing like some kid.
But that wasn't what surprised Kage the most. It was how comfortably she danced with the men. She kept moving from one man to the next, and he didn't know if she was just damn stupid or she couldn't feel the idiots touching her butts,
What in God's name was wrong with her? Wasn't she supposed to be home, sober and all? Here he was, feeling pity for her, and there she was, having fun like a nine year old.
He didn't realize his hold around his glass cup was too tight until his friend tapped him on the thigh.
Man
you cool?" He asked.
Grunting, Kage dropped the glass and stood up. "I have to go now."
He took his car keys- his phone was already in his pocket and left
