Chapter 197
**Elizabeth's POV**
Why were Francis, Dylan, and Louis here? Why did all nine of them appear before me together?
Was I dreaming?
My wolf saw them and made an excited sound, "Mates..."
At the same time, I heard their response, "Mates..."
The resonance in our souls made me suddenly realize that these nine men, all of them, were my MATES.
They were my mates...the fathers of my children...
Did the moon goddess orchestrate my encounter with them? Was I fated to go through all that?
Was this a reward or a punishment from the Moon Goddess?
Tears fell from my eyes.
A sharp pain came from my belly. Damn! My water broke! I'm going into labor early!
I collapsed to the floor in pain, spasming, rolling, and hissing. Am I going to die?
I saw my nine partners running toward me, but my consciousness drifted further and further away.
Their running figures swayed and swayed before my eyes.
I suddenly felt like I was back at the age of 8. I had always lain carefree in my room, watching the leaves being blown by the wind in front of the window.
The leaves swayed and swayed before my eyes.
At that time, I did not know what it meant to be afraid and what it meant to be desperate.
Even the dark shadows of the leaves on the windows, I could imagine them as a brightly colored fairy tale movie.
But my life is not a fairy tale movie, it is a documentary of hell.
Why do I have to live such a miserable life?
If I could, I would rather never have known my nine mates in return for not experiencing those heartbreaking pasts...
In a burst of intense pain, I slowly closed my eyes and lost consciousness.
I don't know how long I was unconscious. I heard a voice calling out to me.
"Elizabeth..."
It was a female voice. That voice made me feel very close and very familiar somehow.
"Elizabeth...come here..."
I saw a woman calling to me from ahead, wearing a light blue dress with something shining on it.
She was calling to me, "Come here..."
Her voice gave me a sense of trust and security, and I couldn't help but walk towards her.
As I got closer, I could see her face clearly. She looked surprisingly identical to me, and she was wearing a dress made of Merman scales exactly like mine.
"Who are you? Why do you look exactly like me?"
"I'm Isabella. I'm you from 10,000 years ago."
"You're...me?"
I looked into her eyes and felt that her eyes looked more mature than mine.
I could tell by her eyes that she had been through more than I had.
"Where is this place? Why are you here?" I asked her, then added, "Dylan has been trying to resurrect you. I thought you were still in the Forbidden Valley."
Isabella said, "Half of my soul was trapped in the Forbidden Valley by Dylan, and the other half has been reincarnated into you. So you weren't born whole, and you don't have full control over your wolf."
It explained the matter. She answered the confusion I had been having.
"We are in your mind. From the moment you opened the crystal coffin, I knew it was fate that brought you to find me. Since then, I have been inside your body, slowly merging with your soul."
"Now, what you see of me is the last trace of the soul belonging to Isabella. Soon, I will completely fuse with you. Isabella will disappear from this world, and you will become the complete Elizabeth."
I couldn't take in such a large amount of information quickly. I recalled my past experiences while understanding what she said.
"So...that mysterious power that has been protecting my child, is it you?"
I remembered that ever since I entered the sea, my belly would no longer be pierced by swords. I had never thought of the reason before, and now it sounded very much like Isabella was protecting me.
"Yes, it's me. In a sense, it is also my child."
Isabella finished with a sudden sigh, "I don't have much time left. There are very many things that I can't tell you in detail. I can only tell you that what I experienced 10,000 years ago was very similar to what you experienced in the past. I can completely understand you. Can I ask you a question?"
"What question?" I looked into her eyes, which were filled with sadness and tears.
"If you had a power that could destroy the world, would you use it to destroy the whole world and kill all the people?"
"Why would you ask that?" Her seriousness scared me a little.
"Don't ask why. Answer me. After all the pain, betrayal, abuse, torture, and despair you've experienced, would you hate the world and want to kill all the greedy, vile, and stupid people?"
I remembered that before I fell into a coma, when I was auctioned off as a sex slave, I did have a surge of anger that wanted to destroy the whole bad world.
But...but...
But then they appeared.
The encounters with them all started with pain.
After my parents were killed, I met Austin and Brandon.
After I was disfigured by fire, I met Caleb.
After I was sneakily assassinated, I met Elroy.
After I was restricted in my freedom, I met Isidore.
After I was taken hostage and dropped into a valley, I met Julian.
After I was sent as a sacrifice to the monster, I met Francis.
After I was dragged into the darkness of the sea by the waves, I met Dylan.
After someone tried to cut open my belly to take out the baby, I met Louis.
However, it wasn't all pain in getting along.
I can't forget Brandon's kindness hidden underneath his indifference. The three books he gave me are still engraved in my mind. I will never forget it.
I can't forget Caleb's patience and gentleness and tolerance. He always believed in me and chose me, no matter how terrible I was. And his sister, Carolina, the deaf-mute who was too soft to protect herself, who always tried to protect me.
I can't forget how Elroy doted and favored me, how I fought alongside Isidore, how I talked about our dreams with Julian, how Francis cried and asked me, "Are you the legendary Moon Goddess? You're here to save me from my terrible life, right? "
Even the paranoid Dylan and the eccentric Louis had saved me and unleashed their goodwill on me.
Those good memories were like stars shining in a dark sky. Few, but beautiful.
