The Magic of Forever

The Magic of Forever
The Day of the Wedding

“Kai, Kaiiiii-” Sterling called out to him across the groom’s suite.

Letting out a sigh, Kai turned to him, "Please don’t piss me off on my wedding day.”

Twisting his lips, Sterling avoided Kai’s already tinging eyes, "I’m not! I promise! You’re prepared to choke me for nothing!” Standing he walked over to Kai and helped adjust his suit, "I joke a lot, but I’m really happy for you.”

Taken aback by the earnest compliment, Kai embraced him in a hug, "Thanks bro.”

"Of course. I mean finding someone who can accept the fact that your breath smells like an old bus seat? That’s pure love right there-AHHH!” He let out a shrill as Kai’s embrace turned into a choke.

"WHAT DID I SAY?!” He shouted, gripping his neck harder.

"I WAS JUST PLAYING!” Sterling choked out, pouting to the others when Kai finally released him. Rubbing his neck, he jumped at the sight of George, 'I WASN’T BEING A LITTLE SHIT!”

George cut his eyes, causing Sterling to shrank. Looking around at the insane quintet, he folded his arms to his chest, "I need to speak to Kai alone for a minute.” Quickly taking the hint, the four left the suite to take their places on the stage. George placed his hand on Kai’s shoulder, "Relax boy.”

"I’m trying sir.”

"Trust me, all those nerves gonna go right out the window once you see her.” George lifted his head, remembering how big Diane’s smile was as she walked down to him, "Every bit of love she has for you, will be all over her face, makes a man feel good about the life he’s making.”

Kai smirked, "Never would have taken you for a romantic.”

"Don’t piss me off,” George responded, trying his hardest to hide his smile. Patting Kai on the back again, he looked at him,
I’m proud of you. This is the Kai I knew was there all along. The one I know who’s gonna handle his business like he was taught.”

The words sat on Kai’s chest and he embraced the older wolf, "That means a lot to me.” He said low.

George pulled away, "Mhm, now, you ready?”

He nodded, "Yeah, I am. You on your way over to Sabine’s suite?”

"Why would I be going over there?”

Kai eyed him, confused, "Because you’re wal-” He let out a groan, "She chickened out.”

"What the hell are you talking about?”

"Sabine wants you to walk her and Blaise down the aisle. My guess is she chickened out thinking you’d say no.”

Processing the words, George shook his head, "Beemo is already out there, you gon’ head and join him. I’ll be out there soon.”

----------------------------------------

"Sabine, I’m TELLING you, George adores you, he would have said yes.” Alexus said, rubbing Sabine’s shoulder, "Terrence walked me down after my father passed away. He was happy to do it, just like I know George would be happy to do the same for you and Blaise.”

"R-really?” Seeing the sister’s nod, Sabine fidget with her fingers, "He can be alittle intimidating I-I guess. Although, I know he's really loving, I've seen it."

Blaise leaned against her, "Let’s just ask, the worse he can say is no.” He coaxed.

"Which I wouldn’t have,” George said, his eyes gleaming at Sabine in her dress as he entered the open suite door. He smiled warmly at the white owl whose white bow tie sat snugly clipped to his chest. "Look at you two-” He stopped and tilted his head at the loose white garment Sabine wore, "Um it’s uh-” He heard Diane laugh as she emerged from the bathroom.

"It’s charmed to surprise Kai. Trust me, Annie did no wrong.”

Grabbing her in his arms, he kissed her cheek, "You look beautiful Di.” He said as his eyes roamed over the soft pink dress she picked out for the wedding.

"Thank you.” She responded meekly. Turning her attention to Sabine, she nudged her to speak.

Sabine sighed, "W-well it’s just that you helped me so much with Rising Sun, and uh-saving Kai and you’re really close, and he said he’s your box of rocks. I-I’m not quite sure I understand what it means, but I do know that he wouldn’t be here without you, and I wouldn’t have been able to keep him safe without your plan.” Looking up at the older wolf, she watched a smile spread across his face.

He grabbed her hands and stood her up, "You gots to learn that you’re just as much family here as Kai. Not because you’re together, but just because. I’d be honored to walk you down the aisle.” He turned to Blaise, "You too.” The grin that broke out onto Sabine’s face, made him chuckle, "Lawd I ain’t even seen the dress yet, and I know he’s going to piss me off with how dramatic he is.”

Sharing a laugh, everyone slowly made their way out of the bridal suite to help a beautiful Supreme and her beautiful white owl, marry the loves of their lives.

------------------------------

"Beems” Kai whispered on the stage, trying his hardest to get Beemo’s attention. "You good?”

"I’M LOSING MY SHIT” Beemo growled a little too loudly as he swatted again at his white bowtie. "I’m about to throw up.”

Kai stifled his laugh, "Please don’t. I doubt Blaise will ever let you live that down.”

"Fu-” He stopped himself, "How the hell are you so calm?”

Watching his sisters and brothers walk down the aisle towards him, Kai shrugged, "Oh, I’m not. I'm definitely losing my shit too.” He inhaled sharply,

I hope you’re right about this George.

He hated that he was nervous, especially because inside of those nerves, he was beyond happy. The thought of marrying Sabine and the day their child would be born was something that made him smile even when he didn’t realize it. Still, he didn’t want to admit it, but he half expected her not to show. That she would start to replay the memory of the ugly that he once was.

Kai felt his breath catch as a slip of wind seemed to lay on his shoulder. It danced around him as if it was embracing him in a hug that he didn’t know he badly needed. And knowing without knowing who it was and why, Kai nodded his head, and felt a little more of his worry slip away. He inhaled deeply as he watched the guest stand in preparation for Sabine and Blaise to enter. His head tilted in slight surprise when he saw the simple white dress she wore. Her smile brightened at the sight of him, and immediately he understood what George meant. He looked down at Beemo whose face said the same as his, no longer worried, just excited for what was to come.

"Look at his face,” George murmured under his breath to Sabine, trying not to laugh. "Smitten and confused as hell.”

Sabine's smile widened, "And downright adorable.” she said back, her eyes still locked on her fiance.

She looked down to Blaise and gave him a wink, before looking back up at Kai who she fought the urge to run to. Because at the end of the aisle waited for her someone who found the small glow inside her, that others made her hide out of shame. There, stood a man who took that glow, ignited it, and turned into the burning flame that he refused to ever let anyone temper again. She loved him so much, the more she looked at him, the more she no longer needed to spin to produce the magic of the dress. The more she soaked in the pure love in his eyes, the more she felt every part of her come alive. Slow gasps filled the room and she watched Kai's eyes widen, as her once simple dress shed its camouflage, and turned into the stunning emerald one that matched Blaises no longer camouflaged bowtie.

Her thoughts traveled to the day that a game of chance led her to make the first decision she’d ever made for herself. The day she talked to a stranger whose kindness was the first she’d known in a while. The same stranger, who’d give her more family than she thought she’d ever have. And no, their story may not have been as many would expect from a Supreme and a man whose painful voice can resonate into anyone's soul, but the fact that it wasn’t what was expected, was what made it like everything around them, magical. Her Paramour would never truly know that she called him Trouble, not because he was a bad influence, but because of the way he turned everything she ever knew, upside down. He matched every bad memory she’d ever had with something even more beautiful. He tore inside every ounce of pain she’d experienced and healed her to her very core. He exuded a love into her, that made him her safe space, and she knew, as long as she was with him, she would be forever home.

Kai felt his heart beat out of his chest and before he could process what was happening, the first of his tears fell. Because walking towards him, was someone who found the small glow inside him, that he made himself hide out of shame. There walked towards him a woman who took that glow, ignited it into a burning flame that she refused to ever let him temper again. The pure love written on her face left him speechless. Because as someone who once needed the love of millions to attempt to fill the void of what was his heart, the day Sabine gave him her love, he realized she would always do what millions never could. She poured a love into him that ripped into every agonizing memory he’d ever had. A love that breathed life into a hope that he’d thought died long ago. His Supreme would never know he called her Doe, not just because of her beautiful eyes, but because she came to symbolize peace to the torment he thought would never leave his heart. And because of this, as he wiped his eyes and slowly grabbed her hand, Kai stared intensely into the eyes of the woman who came to be his forever home.

"You are beautiful Doe.” He said and Sabine let out a small giggle.

"Back at you Trouble. You look absolutely stunning.” Her face shortly flushed, as he continued to stare at her, "I-Is something wrong?” She asked hesitantly.

Kai's eyes shifted, and he gently caressed her face, "You are beautiful Doe.” He repeated as the gentle zaps of his magic permeated her skin. Her eyes glistened as she processed every bit of emotion he’d felt for her since they’d first met. Like a picture reel, each showed emotion, correlated to a different moment between them, some good, some bad, and some ugly, but all a part of what was their story. And as the intensity grew, Sabine’s lip quivered, and she reached up and caressed his face,

“You.are.beautiful” she said, and his eyes turned almost pale as her magic poured into him. Her emotional story much like his, except now enhanced by another. Kai pulled her to him, and he heard her voice crack, “I’m so proud of you. For learning to love yourself...so you can love us.” Wiping his eyes, she smiled small, "Now, what do you say Blaise? You ready to start the rest of our lives with these two?”

Before Blaise could say anything, Beemo made a flirtatious swipe at him. "Well looky looky at the kitties pretty birdie. You better answer yes, I wore the bowtie like you asked, don’t give me a hard time,” Blaise shook his head, and the two shared a small laugh.

Looking up at Sabine, Blaise nodded, “Absolutely.”
