The Hidden One-The End or the Beginning?

The Hidden One-The End or the Beginning?
Two Years Later

” When you get there don’t stop. Don’t speak to anyone that’s not them. They’re the only ones who can help you and if you fail, you fail us all.”

” Can’t you come with me?”

” Sabine no. You have to take this journey on your own. I shouldn’t even be talking to you.”

Sabine sat on the greyhound, her head against the window. Mind full of thoughts, her determination directed to one place.

"NEW YORK ONE MORE STOP! EVERYONE OFF FOR A BREAK!”

Sabine sighed. She was nervous. Would they remember her cry for help? Clutching her bags close, she exited the bus. Her stomach growled and though she didn't want to, she needed to eat.

Okay we have about fifteen minutes…I can hurry up and grab something and make it back in time.

Everything was so much different than what she was used to. The bustling streets, the tall buildings. She wasn’t even in New York yet, but she was already overwhelmed. Spotting a small café, she quickly entered and made her way to the counter and flagged down the waitress.

“How can I help you?”

“A coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant.” She looked around.

Even the people here are different.

Different shades, different ways they dressed, so much more free. She found herself envious. How freeing it must be to be able to look like and be who you want to be? She sighed and closed her eyes.

It doesn’t matter….Rising Sun needs a leader…and I need to stop having these thoughts.

“You ruded me”

A husky voice spoke in her ear. Sabine turned and her lips parted at the man who sat next to her. Chocolate skin, hair that seemed to touch the sun, full lips and a beard that was equally groomed. He smirked at her.

“I’m Kai and again, you ruded me.” She rolled her eyes though she couldn’t help but stare at his tattoos and piercings.

“I didn’t see you.” She finally muttered and Kai eyed her over.

She was beautiful but there was something more, she looked almost surreal. Her short-cut hair, her big hazel eyes that seemed to have flecks of purple. He found himself looking at her the same way she’d looked at him. He pulled his hood tighter over his head.

“That doesn’t change that you cut in front of me.”

“Well, how do you suppose I remedy your irritation for my infraction?” He cocked his head back in thought.

“How about we flip a coin. Heads you get your croissant and I stop bugging you.”

“And tails?”

“You sit and with me and wait for me to get my order. We chat and you finally tell me your name.”

He smiled at her, and Sabine immediately liked the way it looked. Kai pulled out a quarter and flipped it in the air. It landed on heads and he sucked his teeth.

“Too bad.”

Sabine knew the warning that was given to her, but there was something about Kai. She inhaled sharply and flipped the coin over to tails and his eyes gleamed. He ordered his food and extended his hand.

“Kai for the second time” She laughed.

“I’m Sabine Witchcraft” He scrunched his face.

“Beautifully unique name.” He saw her face flush. He folded his arms to his chest.

“So are you from around here?” She shook her head no.

“I’m on my way to New York.” His smile brightened.

“Really so am I…business of pleasure?”

“Definitely business.” He shook his head and then smirked.

“Too bad…though maybe you’d be willing to do a little bit of both?”

Kai didn’t usually flirt. His status didn’t allow it, but the way Sabine looked at him it was clear she didn’t know who he was. It was refreshing and so was she, and before he knew it, an hour passed and they were deep in conversation. She looked at her watch.

“OH NO! I MISSED THE GREYHOUND.” She jumped from her seat, and he grabbed her arm.

“It’s my fault….um, what if I drop you off? I really don’t mind.” She shook her head no feverishly and darted from the café.

“FUCK FUCK FUCK!” She screamed and covered her mouth. “Okay…think…think! Let’s see if I can exchange my ticket!” She raced to the greyhound bus stop. After exchanging her ticket for the morning, she asked the greyhound attendant if there was a hotel nearby.

Quickly making her way, she checked into her room and found herself sitting on the bed.

“I messed up.” She said covering her eyes.

There was a soft rap on her door and her brow raised. She walked slowly to the door and opened it and her mouth dropped.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?! HOW DID YOU FIND ME?!” She screamed.

“I-“

Kai reached behind him, and she jerked her hands forward striking him with her powers. She watched as he hit the wall and his body collapsed. His hands shaking he held his chest.

“I-I... you left your purse…” He pushed out, his heart beating profusely. “I-I asked the greyhound person…he told me-to try here…” Kai struggled to breathe. “I-I asked the front desk..they gave me yourrr room.” Sabine's eyes widened.

“NO! NO! NO!” She grabbed onto him. Pulling him inside her room, She dropped down and held his head. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you…please don’t die.” Kai's body thrashed. “I-I can call someone…I can fix this…do you have family?! Who can I call?!"

“AHHHH!” Kai screamed loudly as her powers course through his veins. Hands fumbling, she grabbed his bag. Searching for his phone or anything she could find, she grabbed onto his wallet and quickly opened it. Her eyes locked onto a picture, and her hands shook in terror. Sabine eyes shot to him, as his breath shallowed. She looked back to the picture of the three sisters.

“Oh my god….”

She looked at the first with the lime green hair. The one who stole the heart of a Beta and became one herself. The eldest of the sisters who was known for her strength, who Sabine had hoped would help her learn to be strong. The middle sister, who had two mates both Alpha’s, making her Luna. The one Sabine wanted to learn from how to rule. And the last who was equally as qualified as she was betrothed the infamous Primus. She was the one who Sabine was the most excited to see. The one who could possibly help her lift the curse.

Sabine shoved the picture in Kai's face. “HOW DO YOU KNOW THEM?!” He writhed on the floor.

“They don’t know…they don’t know…” His body in shock, he screamed in agony as his brown eyes tinged.

Sabine saw flecks of purple and she backed away.

“Oh no…”

She’d messed up worse than she thought and she watched the sparks shoot from his fingers. His eyes stared at her, as he held on for his life. She whispered low.

“Please…tell me how do you know them…” Kai looked at her teary eyes, and even in his pain, they pulled at his heart. With his last breath before collapsing, he spoke to her.

“I-I was on my way to tell them….they’re my little sisters.”
