Making New Memories
Alexus yawned for the eighteenth time making Demetri laugh. “I told you that we should have gone to bed.” She rolled her eyes.

“I wanted to go to bed after round two, but you popped up like the energizer bunny.” He shrugged.

“I blame the red latex.” She looked out the window of the jet, her eyes widening when she saw the beautiful water.

“Wow….”

She was in awe. Demetri pulled her close and kissed the side of her temple.

“Welcome to Bali Little One.”

Alexus shrieked jumping up and down. He'd mulled over where to spend their honeymoon for some time. He thought about the Maldives often, but it just didn’t feel right. It was her memory with her family, and though he hoped that one day they could return, he also wanted to make new memories with his bride.

“I googled places with the bluest water and put the names in a hat and well-“ Her eyes gleamed and she leaned in and kissed her husband.

“You amaze me every day.”

“I’m glad you’re happy we’re here.” Alexus shook her head.

“No I really mean it Demetri, you really do amaze me every day.” The genuine look in her eyes pulled at his soul. He thought about Mavier’s slip of paper.

"I am an amazing husband"

He pulled Alexus’ close. “I love you.” He whispered and she smiled.

“I love you too.”

Demetri and Alexus soon found themselves at their resort. Putting on his glasses, he reeled off the list of things they could do to start their week. Alexus scoffed.

“I’m vetoing that, at least for today. I’m hungry, horny, and sleepy in that order.”

Demetri tossed the list and turned to the mortified staff attendant. “You heard my wife. In.that.order.” He handed the man a crisp hundred dollar bill and whispered. “I’m so sorry… I wish to appear relaxed for our honeymoon, but I’m as mortified as you are about that.”

Good food, great sex, and a long nap left Alexus and Demetri much more energized. After showers, they decided to head down to the beach. Alexus arched her brow.

“Ummm Blue Eyes…are you sure you can surf?” He looked at her in disbelief.

“I guess someone forgot about the sponge in the sink?!” She shook her head.

"Yeah…but you were on a sugar high AND you were a bat…it’s a little different.” He glared at her.

“I have scaled walls Alexus. I have swam shark infested oceans. I think I can handle this-“ He flicked his board. She shrugged.

"Whatever you say, He-Man.” And laid back onto her towel. Demetri made his way down to the water.

“Hey man, you surfing too?” He heard beside him. He looked down to see a man smiling up at him.

“Yes, hence the board. What an unnecessary question to ask another person.”

“Oh cool! Let’s go out together! Surfing buddies!” Demetri’s eyes widened to the size of plates.

“WE ARE MOST CERTAINLY NOT SURFING BUDDIES!” He shouted, stalking away.

Demetri began to slowly paddle out into the water. He tried to stand, but large legs couldn’t manage the board.

“YOU GOTTA LEAN INTO IT MORE!”

“YOU LEAN INTO IT MORE!” He hissed back to the man and tried his best to concentrate. The first wave hit him, and he immediately flipped on his side.

“OHHHH WIPEOUT!” The man cackled and Demetri pulled him from his board. He seethed.

“GET AWAY FROM ME YOU CANCEROUS-OWWW!”

Demetri felt a sting on his leg. He picked the man up by the throat and glared at him. “YOU ATTACK A PRIMUS ON HIS HONEYMOON…FINE BRING IT ON! I WILL DROWN-OWWW” He screamed again feeling another sting. “HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY THREAT YOU-OWWWW!”

Demetri flung the man, smiling as he saw him hit the water hard a few feet away. “FUCKING MUTINY I TELL YOU-OWWW!” He stared down at the water. “What water wizard has clasped onto me?! Unhand me!”

Seeing Demetri fight and shout expletives at the beach, Alexus shook her head. She stifled her laugh as he came stalking from the water.

“Are you alright?” He shook his head.

“I’VE BEEN ATTACKED BY A WATER WIZARD ALEXUS! I THREW HIM AND HE HAS SOMEHOW MANAGED TO HEX ME STILL!” He pointed to his leg and she arched her brow.

“I think you were stung but a Jellyfish-WAIT DID YOU JUST SAY YOU THREW SOMEONE?!”

His face reddened and he turned to look at the man storm from the water. Demetri turned his head to the sky.

“I have done it again. I have accused someone of wizardry.” He looked down at her in horror. “BLOODY HELL DOES THAT MEAN WE HAVE TO BE FRIENDS?! I DON'T WANT TO BE SURFING BUDDIES! HE'S MORE ANNOYING THAN NON-SORCEROR SCOTT!”

Alexus doubled over in laughter, it growing the redder Demetri’s face became.

“Come on Blue Eyes…let’s go take care of your stings.”

Aside from his initial hiccup on the beach, Demetri and Alexus spent an amazing time in Bali. Touring the multiple temples, always finding themselves back at Tanah Lot to watch the sunset by the sea. Alexus saw yet another side of her husband. He made sure not to overdo things. Though she wasn’t even showing, he took the fact that she was pregnant very seriously. He made sure she was never hungry and allowed her plenty of rest. Though often times they winded up finding themselves entangled in one another. Ubud’s Monkey Forrest, where the animals took immediately to Demetri.

“LOOK EVERYONE WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND NOW!” Alexus squealed.

“OH HAR-HAR-HAR!”

Nightlife, where they both enjoyed dancing and engaging in sober fun. Alexus’s hips grinding on Demetri quickly became his favorite addiction. And the feel of his strong frame behind her, always made her feel so safe. Night flights for as long as their wings would carry them, trips to the Art Market and failed attempts at painting.

Alexus and Demetri laughed with one another and found more and more things they adored about their spouse. Perhaps the thing that Alexus loved most, was what Demetri did when he thought she was sleeping. She could hear him whispering to her stomach, talking to their child.

“Hey in there, so today we went watched this outstanding dance and your mother-“

He would go on and on, updating the baby on his day and how Alexus had made him smile.

“And I know I say this a lot, but I can’t WAIT for you to meet your mom. Then you shall see why I talk your head off about her so much.”

And on the night before they were scheduled to leave, Demetri overhead Alexus while she’d thought he was still in the shower.

“Your daddy always seems to forget to mention to you how awesome he really is. But I’m not worried because I know you’ll fall in love with him the moment you two meet.”

Demetri exited the bathroom and scooped her into his arms. He kissed her passionately and she laid on his chest. “You really are an amazing husband Blue Eyes and you’re going to be an amazing dad too.” Demetri kissed her gently on the top of her head and he made a mental note.

I am an amazing husband

He would add it to his list when they returned.
