CHAPTER 23

We have expended all our time in school today keeping eye on Morris as well as Ashley and we have got our plans right in capturing them. Mathis has planned to deflate the car tires so by closing time they won’t have a choice but to walk home and then we can kidnap them on their way.

Our plan worked well and now we are all inside my Dad’s old pathfinder jeep that he had abandoned at home for a while. We tracked Morris and Ashley on the way as planned and we were able to force them into the car after little drama and due to our numbers.

We drove straight to Fed and Mathis’ old apartment where we have planned to use.

“Get down bitches” Bran scolded them Fed pushed them out of the car while Kiki and I step out from the other side. We dragged them inside the abandoned but very beautiful house from which Fed and Mathis's family memory has almost fade away.

“Why are we here you demons” Morris yelled “shut the fuck up bastards” Kiki yelled back at her making her to shake “your mission here is just to answer questions and you will get going” Mathis explained “We won’t answer any question from you” Ashley replied looking so angry “Then we will leave you to rot here” I replied

“where is Kia” Bran asked as soft as ever Morris and Ashley looked at each other before they burst into laughter while we stare at them “and what is funny here,” Fed asked throwing his hands in the air to shut them up.

“Where is KIA!!” Bran yelled with veins showing on his neck which made everyone to tremble “He is a mad dog, and we don’t fuck with him” Ashley quickly explained “will you talk, or we should do you as we like” Mathis asked aggressively “he comes and go, and we don’t know anything about him, but only Kyle and Leon can answer what you have asked us,” Morris said I looked at Bran and he shrugged his shoulder.

“Are you sure you know nothing about him” I asked again “We don’t, bitch” Morris replied looking me dead in the eye.

“Fuck you Morris because I won,” I said before giving her a heavy kick in her stomach.

“Let them go” Mathis ordered while Fed released them, and we watch them leave.

“Now how do we get to Leon,” Kiki asked.

“we will surely find a way” Bran replied “since Leon will know about him, then Kyle should also” I suggested while others nodded.

“Then let's pay a visit to Kyle in the Jail” Fed suggested “When will that be?” Mathis asked “what about we stab school one of these coming days and do that” Kiki replied while we nodded in agreement.

We left the abandoned house and go to our different houses.

I woke up to the sound of a message notification from my school PRO telling us it is time to start applying for university. I closed my phone back and started thinking about which university to apply to. I wish I can still be with my friends so I think I should hear from them before applying. I picked my phone again and texted Kiki I will be coming over to her place.

I entered the bathroom, I did my laundry and had a very nice bath, I washed my hair, shave and I left to my closet where I picked a navy-blue skinny pair of jeans and a grey sweater with a pair of Nike canvas. I dried my hair with a towel and styled it in a very neat bun. I went downstairs to warm my yesterday chicken and chips leftover then went back to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

I finally picked my car key and drove to Kiki’s place in my red Range Rover.

“Hy Candy” Kiki greeted as she opened the door mimicking my parents with the nick.

“Come off it, bitch; the nick isn’t for you” I replied jokingly while I stepped inside We went to the sitting room to take a seat while we watch BBC news.

“Did you receive a message from the PRO” I asked

“Yes, I did, so which school are you planning?” Kiki asked beating me to it “I honestly want to be with you guys, so I want to gather your choices first” I explained

“Harvard? Oxford? or we go outside the country maybe to Africa, Nigeria?” Kiki said counting her left fingers with the right “Africa is a big NO,” I said laughing “Why?” Kiki asked looking serious “We can’t decide to go too far” I explained while she squeezed her face.

“I want to explore the world girl” Kiki replied “But you can always do that nevertheless you can decide to school in Africa if that is your dream,” I said assuring Kiki I have her back.

“I have read a lot about that place and I would like to see it for myself someday” Kiki replied “Yes darling, probably on a vacation, tourism tour and all” I responded while she snorted.

“Let’s do a video call with the boys and hear their opinion about the University of their choice” Kiki suggested as she picked up her laptop from the table and open it.

“Norah” Fed shouted as he picked the call “call others to join you,” Kiki said while he obeyed “So why calling instead of coming over” Mathis asked “Which school did you guys decide on?” I asked leaving Mathis unanswered “Harvard” Bran said after seconds of silence while others nodded in agreement “Harvard it is,” I said before dropping the call.

I left Kiki’s place in the evening after we have applied for Harvard and Oxford, but I can sense Kiki wasn’t so happy with the idea of not going out of the country to study. It has always been her dream to live among people from an entirely different culture and origin.

It is Tuesday morning and we have decided to stab school again to go and see Kyle. We were all in a single car with Bran at the driver’s seat, Fed sitting beside him and the rest of us at the back.

We did all the necessary things to see Kyle after getting to the prison and after minutes of the prison warders moving from one point to another, they finally allowed us to see Kyle.

Kyle is wearing the Prisoner’s orange suit and a rubber slide, he looked thinner than usual and a little bit unkempt and all that is expected of a prisoner. I met eye with him, and he immediately turned down his face before taking his seat “What have you come to do” Kyle asked

“To ask a question from you and we would appreciate your sincere answers” Bran replied “what do you know about Kia?” Fed asked with a very low voice

“Why don’t you meet with Leon?” Kyle questioned looking so innocent

“We know you have information about Kia and that is why we have come to you,” Kiki said “For the sake of Norah here, I will tell you all you want. Kia is an informant or an errand boy to a group of Big boys” Kyle said looking down his feet “Who are the big boys” Mathis asked “the one who killed your parents?” I said making him to flinch on his seat “I got to know after my arrest Norah, please forgive me” Kyle pleaded “You betrayed my trust and also wanted to kill me, Kyle, you grew up to be heartless,” I said as water started to pile up in my eye.

“time’s up,” one of the wardens said as he pulled Kyle up and dragged him back to his cell.

We left the prison and went straight to Bran’s place to restrategize and think about our next move.

“who are the big boys?” Fed asked carrying the same confused look as the rest of us.

“maybe we have to get Morris and Ashley again,” Bran said as he picked his car key and went out while Fed followed him.

The rest of us exchanged glances and we decided to wait for them and see the outcome of their sudden outing. Mathis and Kiki decided to prepare us something to eat while I went upstairs to Bran’s room.

I entered the room, and I will admit I missed the room so much, I sat on his bed and spot my picture on his bedside table. It was a picture of me during the competition and I checked the back of the picture to see the picture of all of us that we snapped after the same competition and everyone with a big smile. I looked over at the edge of his bed to see my Hoodie and I picked it up on the bed.

“He had decorated his room with my memories,” I said to myself before I heard the sound of his car entering the compound. I quickly left his room and went downstairs before he got to know about my presence in his room.

“You miss him, right?” I was taken aback to hear the voice immediately I open the door and I turned around to see Mathis “Maybe not” I replied before walking past him.

Bran and Fed entered with worries shown all over their faces. Fed took his seat while Bran continued to pace around the sitting room.

“Will you tell us what it is or not” Kiki uttered breaking the silence “Ashley told us to look for a guy named Jason, she said he can help us with information regarding Leon” Fed explained.

The name rings a bell in my head, and I keep wondering where I know someone named Jason.

“Jason” Kiki murmured to herself, but I bet we all heard her “Jason without a location or anything” Bran complained as he keeps pacing “Are we going to give up now?” Mathis asked which led to a quick change in Bran’s face “I won’t give up on knowing the cause of my Mother’s death Mathis” Bran yelled “I know a Jason,” I said making everyone to direct their attention to me “I met a Jason at the competition but since then I haven’t heard from him” I explained

“no contact, nothing?” Fed asked looking at my eyeball like he was expecting me to say something.

“He gave me his Facebook details,” I said making everyone sigh happily.

“try and remember please” Kiki pleaded looking at me I wondered and started flashing back to our conversations

“Dalton Jason” I finally remembered after

Mathis and Bran went to check then name and do some things

“We found him” Mathis exclaimed “He has all these details here including his house address,” Bran said happily as he took his seat.

“So, what next?” I asked looking at Bran to say something “We can’t just go to his house and attack him; he is a cultist and will surely have weapons,” Fed said “I knew him, let me do this” I offered standing up “Are you sure you will be fine?” Kiki and Bran asked in sync

“Yes, don’t worry but be on alert in case I need you guys” I confirmed while they nodded.

“see you in school tomorrow,” I said signaling to Kiki to let us be on our way.
