CHAPTER 22

Dang! Dang!

I heard the doorbell and I immediately knew it was the guys at the door. I have fully prepared myself before their arrival and don’t be surprised it was fast because I only washed my face and dress up. I am wearing a ripped blue mini-skirt and a yellow crop top. I tied my hair with Bandana and allowed it to flow down on my shoulder.

“Good morning the star girl” they chorused as I open the door with a big smile on their faces “Welcome to my galaxy” I replied sarcastically I went upstairs to pick my bag and we all moved out.

“Bran and Norah will take his car while I, Mathis, and Kiki will take Norah’s car” Fed explained “I can go with Fed” I replied not wanting to be alone with Bran “Nope, we are following Fed’s arrangement” Kiki responded as she made her way to the car and the twins followed her leaving me with Bran.

“I will drive” Bran offered as he jumped into the driver’s seat and gestured to me to enter.

We drove out of the compound, and we both have been mute since the beginning of the whole drive. No music nor radio, we just left it boring, or no one wanted to make the first move. I can feel Bran watching me and whenever I look over to him, he would have turned away which I so much appreciate as I don’t want our eyes to meet either.

“You did really well yesterday” Bran finally broke the silence “I was surprised I did too” I replied smiling and I immediately remembered Jason. I wonder how he is now as he didn’t even make the first round of the competition and how it would have made him happy if he won. I felt pity for him but then I didn’t deserve to lose either.

“I know you would do well” Bran commented winking at me which made me blush obviously The chat with Bran continued and it was really fun with him, we both forget the awkwardness between us and felt like friends again and we were really happy to have a time with each other after the breakup.

“I always belong to you Norah either we get back or not,” Bran said as he pulls up behind Feds and we stepped out of the car “Thank you, Bran, but you are free to live your life” I replied and walked past him to meet others.

I must admit the whole shopping thing was really fun and I had the best day after weeks, everyone was happy, I bought a lot of things and we all made sure to get each other secret Christmas gifts. We later moved to an eatery to have lunch and I paid for the bills to celebrate my big win for my friends.

Happy new year!!!!!!

I woke up to the voices of my parents which made me flinch at first then jumped on them after regaining myself.

“Dad, Mom” I screamed hugging them so tightly.

“We have come to celebrate this new year with you, so make an activity list for today and tomorrow,” Dad said

“This is a good year,” I said while they laughed and went back to their rooms.

I called Kiki who told me her parents are around also and she is having one of the best days of her life with them. I called Bran, Fed, and Mathis one after the other to wish them a happy new year and told them I have them included in my list.

“Dinner is in an hour, see you soon,” I said before dropping the call with Fed I went back to my closet to continue dressing up for the dinner which I organized arranged to include my parents, Kiki’s parents, and the guys. I am wearing a long pale blue gown with silver patterns on it, so long that it was covering my ankle with a Silver four inches heel and a tiny necklace with its matching earrings and bracelet. I braided my hair into four and left the remaining flowing down my shoulder, I applied little makeup with a black smoky eye.

My door opened revealing Kiki, she is looking extremely gorgeous in her black flared gown and a pair of silver heels as well. She is putting on light make-up with a nude smoky eye like mine, her hair was packed in a messy bun leaving few strands dropping by the sides of her face.

“Happy new year and you look so beautiful,” Kiki said as I pull her into a hug “you look gorgeous too” I replied before letting go of her.

“Everyone is waiting,” Kiki said making me realize it is time already.

We went downstairs and I was so happy to see the guys dressed so handsomely and responsibly. We hugged and we all settled around the table for the candle dinner. We have a great time with our parents and after it all, Kiki and her parents left for their house and so did Bran and the twins.

I woke up to the sound of the alarm. Today is the first day back to school and I feel so excited to get back to school after the long holiday but the thought of how to handle a lot of attention that I will start getting from everyone is making me want to skip school for days. I went into the bathroom and had a long bath, I washed my hair and air dried it as I pick my outfit for the day which are black leather trousers, a white tank top and a black leather jacket on it with my wine ankle boot. I quickly got myself ready and went downstairs to make smoky Jollof rice and salad for breakfast after eating I grabbed my backpack and my bike key to wait for Kiki outside.

“Good morning,” Kiki said as she approaches me “Back to school, girl” I replied while she smiled. We hugged and went to the parking lot “This one that you didn’t keep me waiting shows this school year will be great” Kiki teased while I smiled “Let’s go finish high school” I screamed as I started the bike and ride out of the compound.

We got to school and everywhere looked so different, we parked the bike beside Bran’s car and entered the hallway. We started working towards our locker and I can notice everyone looking at me.

“Hi ladies” Mathis greeted waving at us They are standing behind the wall in the hallway and greeting almost everyone passing “Are you waiting for us?” Kiki asked as she jumped on Mathis who hugged her tight in return I hugged Fed and Bran before we went back to our lockers to pick everything needed for the day. It is the last year in school and we all are going to be having all our classes together except sport.

I got to my locker to see STAR GIRL boldly inscribed on it which melts my heart at the sight. I stroll my hand on the graphics for a while before opening the locker and dropped somethings. I turned back to see a pool of people behind me including my friends, the teachers, coach as well as the Principal clapping for me.

“You don’t have to do this” I whispered smiling as my face turned red “you have done so well Norah and you have brought back our long-lost pride of over thirty years which was the last time our school won a swimming competition,” explained the principal as he patted my shoulder and put a gold medal on my neck. “Thank you, sir and I dedicate this award to coach Bianca,” I said raising the award while the whole school cheers again and coach walked up to me to give me a very big hug.

“You will also have this award from the school and the competition plus other prices which is for you will be added” the principal further explained as he gave me a very beautiful glass award.

“Thanks so much for making me proud Norah” coach said as she raised my hand and camera lights flashing everywhere.

It was indeed a very great morning for me and probably it will be nice last days in high school.

It was a very bright Saturday morning and Bran called us to meet at his place claiming he has something important to tell us. So, we were currently in his place waiting for Kiki to join us but at least we are all seated having a coffee prepared by Fed.

“Kept you waiting I guess,” Kiki said as she entered carrying a pack of something in her hand “what have you brought for us” Bran asked grabbing the box in her hand Bran opened it to reveal pieces of well fried Prawn Crackers.

“You are the real MVP,” Fed said happily as he threw one in his mouth and crunched “so, we can take this while we talk,” Mathis said as he fetched tea from the dispenser “Now let’s get to the point of the matter,” I said as I crunched a cracker while others nodded “I have been having sleepless nights for days now and I won’t have a rest until I find Kia and know what led to my Mother’s death in detail,” Bran said as water started to mass up in his eye.

“He has been wanting to go on with this on his own for days, but I thought it won’t be good if we left you guys out” Mathis added Kiki and I exchanged glances before Fed speak up “We really have to help him guys,” Fed said while Mathis nodded “I can do this alone; I don’t want these ladies to get hurt because of me” Bran pleaded “That isn’t right besides we are all going to be there for you and support you Bran” Kiki replied “Yes Bran, we have to find out and end the beef with the Werewolves once and for all,” I said while others nodded.

“Here is the analysis, we will start with Morris and Ashley and see if we can get anything from them” Mathis suggested “You are right; they must know something” Bran added We agreed to get Ashley and Morris to start our investigations with and know the stated of things in their gang about us.
