ALPHA TYSON
CHAPTER 6
ZENEVIEVA
"Get up Zenevieva, Luna wants to see you."
One of the maids told me and disappeared quickly. I left the scrub on the floor and wiped my wet hands on my clothes to meet Luna.
I wonder what I've done this time around or what Tyson did.
I had barely made a step when I heard a scream that made me flinch.
"How dare you present your filthy self to the royal chambers!!"
Marcella shrieked and I hissed in frustration. Her eyes glinted in disgust and her neatly packed hair made me want to sink my hands to scatter it.
I seriously wasn't ready for her bants right now!
I ignored her and stepped forward into the passageway that led to the queen's room when I got a fierce hand on my hair.
Collette gritted her teeth and reached out for my hair, yanking it backward and raising her hand to slap me but we both shook at the impact of the authority that echoed suddenly.
"Try it!!"
A voice said and we both whipped our directions to face the Queen.
"Just hit her, Collette! I'm sure to give you a double dose."
She released my hair at once and bowed, vibrating as she spoke.
"M.. mum… She's not supposed to be here."
"But you're standing right in my face to spew nonsense right? Almost beating the Alpha's mate, Are you insane? Why are you here in the first place huh?
If this ever repeats itself, you will see the dark side of me."
She threatened harshly and turned to face me, flipping her hair. It makes me wonder why Luna was strict with her children. Every mother would side with the children whether they were right or wrong but it was the reverse case for this pretty soul.
"Come over hun, your coronation is In a few days. You need to wear something spectacular." She grinned and I almost rolled my eyes mannerlessly.
These sons and daughters of Jezebel were bound to make life difficult for me and they might just dress me off before I even reach the coronation.
"Okay, Luna." I bowed and followed her inside.
Piles of royal attires were already neatly laid on the bed. From the finest silk adorned with beads to the most expensive cottons made for royals which made me gulp.
We argued to and fro on which attire to wear till we finally settled for a blue strapless gown with sequence arrayed nicely by the Bridge of the breast side.
"Perfect choice." She grinned and I smiled, bowing respectfully and hurriedly taking my leave with the clothes.
I have like five floors to scrub before the day runs out and I need to start immediately. I was so lost in thought, lost in my predicament that I wasn't seeing straight.
Boom!!
I wasn't looking straight and I bumped into something hard and the look of these things tells me that it will end badly from the growl I'm hearing.
"Are you blind?" He growled with authority oozing from his throat but I just bowed which made me receive a hot lashing slap on my face and I winced.
"Why will you even step your feet Into the royal chambers? When will you learn to know your place?" Tyson cowered, his tone filled with irritation. His attire portrayed a rare beauty that had my heart leaped but was quickly replaced with a fit of overwhelming anger and hatred. Why does he hate me so much, is he truly my mate?
"The fact that I respect you as the future Alpha doesn't give you the right to hit and talk to me anyhow, you won't like it if my little strings of respect are being loosed." I rebuked him and he reeled back with shock.
"Did you just refer to me that way?" He asked to make sure but I retorted harshly.
" Except you're invisible! I beg to take my leave!" I bowed and took a step but he growled and stood before me.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? You dare to barge in here to challenge me?"
"Are we going to repeat this lame dance, Alpha Tyson? Isn't it obvious I'm your mate no matter how you blame nature and the moon goddess? I remained stuck here, dear Alpha.
You should prepare for the ceremony, it's lurking around too soon."
I winked at him knowing how disgusting that may seem to him, I might not have any power to display to cause anyone pain but my words could do, without waiting for his next response or reaction, I left only to face another hullabaloo of accusations and workload.
"And where do you think you're coming from, abandoning your work out of the blue?"
The head maid asked the moment I came to resume what I was doing.
"The Luna sent for me, I deeply apologize."
A hot slap landed on my face unexpectedly the second time and I reeled in shock staring daggers at her.
"What sort of an expensive lie is that, You silly rogue? Why will the queen send for a riff Raff like you?"
I fumed so deeply but kept my cool.
I already have five large floors to scrub, I don't want to invoke anyone's wrath to double it.
"Sorry!" I said and bowed, bending down to scrub the floor.
"I know who Luna will send for, not a weak rejected slave like you. Do you know you just insulted her?"
I rolled my eyes and scrubbed the floor while she continued her rants.
She could talk for all I care but that's least of my business.
"When you're done with the floors, you will clean the Alpha's room."
I gasped.
"Why me? I had barely finished my chores!!" I yelled.
"Look here!! Don't you ever tell me what duty to assign to you? The Alpha’s room needs to be cleaned up by sunset and failure to do that will warrant you being thrown to the dungeon for flaunting orders."
I couldn't endure the partial treatment anymore, my wolf growled within and I didn't know why I was holding up this much. Many would have been dead by now, one word and they could have felt a snap on their neck but I'm trying to protect my stay here. I can't risk that.
"Your wickedness will save you some space in hell!!" I told her with a voice that scared me but she smirked instead.
"I know, and If you don't finish up real quick you will never get to feed that pathetic stomach of yours." She fired at me and left, making me grit my teeth hard.
I abandoned everything and headed for the Alpha's chambers. I could scrub the floors the whole day but it won't be the same for his room.
I need to go there and get done with it so I will meet up with other chores.
The guard pushed me away with full force at the entrance of the Alpha's room.
"You can’t be the maid to clean his room, you reek of filth."
He said and I bit my lips, losing patience with them.
"I was asked to clean his room as soon as possible, not to stay here to banter words with you!"
"Leave!" They thundered and I was very sure that the stupid lady would return me if I stood before her and gave excuses.
I stretched my lips and bit them, totally ignoring them and trying to maneuver my way in when one of their hands almost grabbed my arm but I held and twisted it with force, releasing a hot slap by the side of his left cheek.
They were too stunned and gasped in awe and I didn't give them time to stare at me in awe.
I dashed inside at once and released a shaky breath.
“You're going overboard Zenevieva! If you continue this way you're going to expose us.” My wolf warned but I rolled my eyes and focused.
"Those men want to drain the little energy in me.. besides, you were equally angry at the way I'm being treated," I muttered back and got ready to start cleaning when I saw the Alpha seated by the windows.
He looked a little frail and was coughing out terribly.
I was about to bow when his gaze met mine sharply.
I opened my mouth to greet them, but his eyes flew to the brush and towel in my hands, looking utterly displeased.
"Who the hell sent you to clean my room!"
