Chapter 5.
ZENEVIEVA......
My two eyes opened slowly and I could tell that I was lying down on a bed because I was feeling the softness of it.
Awww! It's been a while, I've been lying on bare ground covered with grass for almost a year now, and I'm used to it already.
The woods turned out to be my home and I could tell that I survived there because of the abilities I possessed, because I've passed through the hell that no wolf would pass through and return.
I finally sat on the bed and began taking a good look at the room that I found myself in.
It was beautified like the others, turning to my left side, my eyes fell on the king's lover. My mate's lover.
She was leaning on the wall with her two hands crossed against each other.
"Finally, the bitch is awake." She referred to me.
I shrugged my shoulders and tried getting down from the bed but I felt something at my back. My hand reached out for my back for me to find out that I was bandaged.
"Do yourself a favor by leaving this pack after you're strong enough. I hate you damn much and wouldn't want to be setting my eyes on you." She threw hateful words at me.
I only knitted my eyebrows and stepped out of the bed.
"Feel free to kick me out if you don't want to be setting your eyes on me, I was brought in here by the prince and not by you." I retorted so she wouldn't feel like I'm dumb.
I hate talking because it hurts my mouth, and then, I love action a lot more than speaking.
"Did you just talk back to me?" She moved closer to me. "You shouldn't make that mistake or I'll order the guards to give you strokes of the cane, don't forget that I'm a beta while you're a gamma." She reminded herself and not me, I don't care about status.
I smiled at her so she was confused. "Not a Luna yet and you're trying to exercise a fucking strength. You're nonchalant." I cursed her.
She bit her finger. I can say that she's annoyed by my words because she wasn't expecting that.
"I should refer to you as a nonchalant, how dare you come into this palace to take away my Alpha prince from me?" She threw an unreasonable question.
I smirked. "You should be ashamed of yourself that you had to turn your back on whoever is your mate just to become Luna. Do you even realize that you're standing in the presence of the Alpha prince mate?" I startled her with my heavy words and she stepped back a bit.
"Look, I think you should stop thinking that being his mate will make him yours. I am going to be Luna, and I'll make you suffer in my hands." She referred to me.
That was a bit awkward, I still can't tell why I'm so concerned about staying with him as his mate when he hates me already.
Uhmmm! Maybe because I need an adobe to always rest my head.
"You're a mother fucker for thinking that I'm that easy to deal with." I retorted.
She lifted her right palm to hit me, but I held them in the air.
"Stop risking your life, I am not who you think." I pushed her so hard that she hit her back on the wall.
"What's going on here? Marcella." I heard a feminine voice barge into the room and moved to her.
It was the Alpha princess.
"Hey! What did you do to her? You shouldn't dare lay your filthy fingers at her or you'll be thrown into the dungeon." The princess screeched at me.
I only stood watching both of them, but I didn't care to say a word.
"You're strong now, you're lucky all thanks to Luna or you would have bled to death and no one cares." Marcella began running their mouth again.
But I owe the Luna gratitude for saving me, though I'm quite sure that I'd have survived it.
"You're awake." A masculine voice echoed, and then I lifted my face to see the Alpha prince.
He moved to me glaring into my eyeballs, and Marcella rushed to him and got on her knees.
"My prince, remember the promises we made to each other. Please don't leave me to this asshole." She uttered, staring into his eyeballs.
Gosh! She just called me an asshole, and I'll show her how an asshole behaves.
I moved to her and dragged her by the hair, I yanked it so hard and then pushed her that she fell to the floor.
"That's how an asshole treats people," I muttered to myself.
"Who the heck do you think you are to lay your hands on my lover?" The Alpha yelled at me with so much anger.
I smiled at him. "I am Zenevieva, a rogue, a gamma, and your mate." I kept smiling sheepishly, but only the moon goddess knows that it isn't from the depth of my heart. "Should I also remind you that you'll soon be the king and I'll be your Luna?" I narrowed my eyes with my gaze focused on him alone.
"Don't be deceived, you will only be my Luna for just ninety days." The prince announced.
My eyes flew open for a while, and then I narrowed them again. I guess I enjoyed them being that way.
"Ninety days," I mentioned and took a deep breath.
On hearing that, Marcella stood up from the floor and held his shoulder, the princess as well moved closer to us.
"My prince, you mean she will be your Luna for just ninety days then I'll take over. Is that right?" Marcella questioned him curiously.
He nodded and held her waist. "Once I'm crowned the king, she has just ninety days to live here with me, then I'll reject her and throw her out of this pack." The king narrated further.
"Isn't it better you just reject me now?" I interrupted his fucking thought.
He turned to me.
"You're a disgrace to be my Luna, no mating ceremony will take place. Just our coronation which will be a waste soon." He smirked his face. "You should be glad that I gave you the opportunity of ascending that throne for a while, but Marcella will be my forever Luna." He added.
I let out a devilish smile.
He wrapped his arms around Marcella's waist, while the princess placed her arm on his shoulder mocking me with just her stares.
I felt the ground would open and eat me up when I watched him kiss her passionately in my presence.
The pain was worse than being rejected by him.
