Chapter 104 Help
Chapter 104 Help
Soraya
“There are different kinds of demonic beasts,” the professor started, and I began asking myself why the hell I was actually taking this class.
Everyone paid attention, and I just kept chewing on the bottom of my pen. I looked around the class. Bianca wasn’t here, which was odd. It wasn’t like I gave a damn about my sister, but she prided herself on always being in class, the one who pays attention and whatnot, making my parents think that I am just here for fun.
But she wasn’t here, and it’s been more than three days now. I haven’t seen her. Was she fine? I asked myself, but at the same time, did I care? No, I didn’t.
The professor kept talking. Then she turned to the board.
“Rabid wolf.”
Why does that name sound familiar?
She talked about how it was a demonic werewolf spirit that possessed vulnerable hosts. It corrupts them and makes them kill.
Well, I wouldn’t want to be a host to a demonic creature.
I didn’t know why, but today I felt good in a way. I felt excited, happy. Well, Evander was to thank for that anyways.
As I continued writing, I looked out the window, and there was a swarm of bees.
What the heck?
I got off my seat slowly.
“Oh my God.” I said, “they were at the window, and it looked like they were about to break in.” It made the class look a little bit dark—well, not a little bit, very dark—like it was about to rain. It blocked out the light.
But the professor was still teaching. Everyone was still paying attention. It was like they couldn’t see what I was seeing.
“Miss Reagan,” I said, lifting up my hand and pointing at the window.
“What?”
“Look!” I said, and everybody’s eyes fell on me immediately.
I pointed at the window. “There’s a swarm of bees.”
I was shaking in my seat because I have always been afraid of bees, and I wasn’t ready for them to sting me.
“Soraya, what the hell are you talking about?”
She walked to my seat, and I kept pointing at the window. “I can’t see anything.”
“What?” I turned to look at her. She had a frown on her face.
“Look. Why can’t you see it?”
Everyone began laughing.
No, this isn’t right. There are bees on the window, and they are going to break in.
The sound from the bees, the buzzing, it was deafening. I placed both hands over my ears, trying to block it out.
“Miss Reagan, we have to leave now.” I held her hand.
She quickly freed herself from my grip.
“What the hell are you talking about, Soraya?”
I saw the glass crack.
Oh no. Oh no.
I got off my chair. “They are coming.”
The glass cracked further… and it broke.
I covered my face with both my hands, expecting the worst—but nothing happened.
I slowly moved my hands away from my face.
Everything was back to normal.
The glass was intact, and there were no bees.
“Sit your ass back down. If this is a charade for you to get out of my class, believe me, it is not going to work. You are going to be here till I am done, am I clear?”
I didn’t sit back down. I ran outside the class. It buzzed, and it was still ringing in my ears. My body felt weird, like there were things creeping all over me.
What the hell was happening?
I ran to Evander’s office, but when I pushed it open, he wasn’t there. Only Milo.
“Where is Evander? Where is Evander?” I asked, panic rising in my chest. I wasn’t even sure what the hell was wrong with me or why I was looking for him. Would he even have a solution to my weirdness?
“Soraya,” Milo said, standing up and walking toward me. “What’s going on?”
“Milo, the bees. Can’t you hear them?” I said, closing my ears.
“What bees?” He looked around, confused.
“Milo, the bees. They’re in my head. They’re in my head, Milo. The bees,” I said, restless. I took off my blazer and began unbuttoning my uniform.
“Soraya, you need to breathe, okay? Calm down.”
“Milo, the bees,” I said. I took out the scrunchie in my hair. “Where is Evander? Where is he?”
“He’s not in school right now,” Milo said.
“There’s something wrong with me.” The sound became louder, and it felt like something was screeching in my brain. I closed my ears, trying to block out the sound, but nothing was working.
“Make it stop,” I cried. “Make it stop.”
I sat down and covered my eyes. When I opened them again, the bees were everywhere.
I looked up. They’re coming for me.
I screamed, unable to contain myself anymore. “Make it stop. Make it go away, please. Please. The bees. The bees.”
He looked at me, confused. “I can’t see them.”
“Can’t you see?” I was pointing in every direction because they were everywhere in Evander’s office. But I was the only one who could see it.
“Soraya,” he said calmly, “I can’t see anything.”
“Your tie,” I said. “Your tie. Take it off.”
He took it off quickly.
“Give it to me.”
I tied it over my eyes so firmly.
Immediately, the buzzing stopped.
Milo knelt in front of me, his tie over my eyes.
“Soraya,” he said calmly, “what the hell just happened?”
“I don’t know,” I replied, shaking my head. “The sound… the bees…” I cried.
“You need to lay down. I’ll call Evander, okay?” I said slowly. He helped me.
“Soraya… Soraya.” I began hearing my name. I shook my head, tightening my eyelids. The noises in my head—it stopped for a while, but it started again, and it felt like I was going insane.
“Make it stop, please, make it stop,” I cried, placing both my hands over my ears. “Milo, please make it stop.”
But there was no response.
“Milo,” I called his name again, rolling off the couch and falling to the ground. Pain shot through my body.
I was so afraid to take off the blindfold because I knew the bees, the bees were everywhere, and I couldn’t handle seeing them again.
I crawled on the floor, not knowing the direction of the door. The sound in my ears became louder. If I didn’t use my hand to cover them, the noise could kill me.
“Please somebody,” I said, my body felt weak. “Help me, I cried. Anybody, please help me.”
“Soraya…” The voice that called my name didn’t feel distant. It felt close but not in the same space as I was, like it was in my head.
“Help me…” The voice said. “You are the only one who can help me.”
I screamed. “Stop! Make it go away, please!” I cried in the empty room as I crawled on the ground, like my life was being drained out of me.
Suddenly, I couldn’t move anymore. My body felt paralyzed.
“Milo,” I said his name weakly, hoping he would hear me. “I am dying.”
“Evander… I don’t want to leave you. Please, I love you.” I whispered into the air.
I felt my soul being pulled into a warm hole. Somebody help me…
Slowly, the noise began to die down, and everything started becoming quiet, but I still felt my soul being pulled out of my body.
“Help… help me… please.... somebody..... anybody help me I don't want to die”
