Chapter 30
Isabella questioned, "Who the hell are you?"
Isabella was livid. A strange woman had just barged in and started attacking her out of nowhere.
She must be one of Matthew's flings, and a close one at that!
With that thought, Isabella didn't hold back.
The woman shouted, "You shameless tramp! How dare you pull my hair? I'll beat you to a pulp!"
The woman fought back fiercely.
Isabella's hair was still being yanked by the woman. She glared at her with fury.
Isabella said, "Not only will I pull your hair, but I'll rip it all out. Do you even know where you are? You're just some nobody, acting all high and mighty!"
Isabella tightened her grip on the woman's hair.
The woman screamed even louder, "It hurts! It hurts! You bitch! I'll fight you to the death!"
Isabella felt the woman's grip tighten and winced.
She scolded, "You're the bitch! And you're a shameless mistress. Matthew already has a wife, and you still cling to him."
The woman glared at Matthew, too angry to speak.
Isabella noticed her looking at Matthew.
What made her even angrier was that Matthew actually reached out to pull the woman away.
Isabella shot him a cold look and shouted, "Matthew! I'm your wife. Are you really going to side with this mistress?"
The woman was furious and questioned, "Matthew! Are you helping me or her?"
Isabella gritted her teeth and looked at Matthew with increasing hostility. Look at how arrogant this mistress was. She wouldn't dare act like this if Matthew hadn't given her the confidence.
Matthew frowned deeply. Isabella was clearly angry and probably didn't recognize the woman in front of her. He looked at the woman.
The woman shouted, "Matthew! Are you taking her side?"
Isabella bit out, "He's my man. Why wouldn't he take my side? You're young and not ugly, yet you choose to be someone else's mistress."
Matthew covered Isabella's mouth. Knowing her temper, she would definitely blame him once she knew the truth.
But she bit him!
The woman shouted, "You bitch! How dare you bite him? I'll bite you to death!"
The woman lunged at Isabella's arm to bite her.
Matthew quickly used his other arm to block her.
He was exhausted!
Isabella felt better seeing Matthew protect her.
Isabella shouted, "You're actually protecting her!"
The woman was indignant.
Isabella taunted her, "I'm his wife, the future mother of his children. If he doesn't protect me, should he protect some random woman?"
The woman shouted, "You're the outsider!"
The woman glared at Matthew, breathing heavily.
She asked, "Matthew, choose her or me? Make your choice!"
Isabella laughed angrily and said, "Matthew, you tell her."
She stared at Matthew, but her peripheral vision was on the woman. She was really seeing something new.
Matthew was relieved that they had stopped fighting and quickly took out his phone to explain.
Isabella frowned, not wanting to look.
But her expression soon changed.
Isabella questioned, "She's your sister? Your real sister or one of those 'sisters' you call during sex?" Isabella eyed Matthew suspiciously.
Faye Moore sneered at Isabella. "Your mind is filthy. Do you think Matthew is like those sleazy men out there?"
Isabella's face changed, still unwilling to believe it. She stared at Matthew.
Matthew continued to explain, "She's been abroad. She was supposed to come back for our wedding and Grandpa's birthday, but her courses kept getting delayed. She just got back now."
Faye met Isabella's gaze and sneered, "Even if you apologize, I won't accept it. You're not good enough for Matthew."
Isabella felt a bit guilty knowing Faye's identity, but remembering her attitude and words, she knew Faye didn't accept her at all.
In that case, she wouldn't bother trying to please her.
Isabella said, "Whether I'm good enough isn't for you to decide. We're legally married."
She tightened her grip on Matthew's hand, taunting Faye.
Faye stepped forward to pry their hands apart.
Isabella frowned.
Matthew quickly stepped between them.
"Matthew Moore! You've changed!" Faye was furious that Matthew was still protecting Isabella.
Matthew looked at Faye helplessly.
Isabella smiled lightly and said, "As Matthew's sister, isn't it inappropriate to call him by his full name?"
Faye shouted, "None of your business! Our family doesn't need your input!" Faye snapped at Isabella.
Matthew's face darkened as he glared at Faye.
Faye got even angrier seeing this.
Faye said, "You're glaring at me because of this woman? I'm telling Mom!"
As soon as she left, Isabella turned to Matthew and asked, "Did I offend Faye? Why does she dislike me so much? Are you sure she's your real sister and not adopted or something?"
Otherwise, why was she so possessive?
Matthew's face grew darker.
Isabella pouted, sensing the situation. "She's your real sister, and Mom is her real mom. Now you're protecting me. If she keeps causing trouble in the future...You share blood. No matter how much she causes trouble, you'll always forgive her. But eventually, you'll find me annoying."
Matthew patted her back soothingly. "No, I won't."
Isabella felt happy inside, but still looked up at him for a more definite answer. She questioned, "Really? But men can't be trusted."
Matthew kissed her lips.
Isabella gasped.
Matthew said, "As the future mother of my children, if you think I'm unreliable, you can have more kids. With the Moore family blood, they'll all stand by you."
Matthew's words made Isabella's eyes clear up immediately.
"You're shameless." Isabella pushed Matthew and tried to get out of bed.
Matthew chuckled and hugged her, his voice softening, "Alright, sleep."
Isabella frowned, making sure Matthew wasn't up to anything, then whispered, "Faye went to tattle. Can you still sleep?"
With Ava's protective nature, she might come over to scold her any minute.
She knew the difference between a biological daughter and a daughter-in-law, and her chest felt tight.
Matthew gently stroked Isabella's back.
He said, "I'm here. Sleep."
Isabella looked into Matthew's calm eyes, opened her mouth, and then closed her eyes. Fine, she wouldn't care anymore.
At worst, she'd be kicked out. But the bags and jewelry in the closet, she probably couldn't take them with her. She frowned.
Matthew reached out to smooth her frown.
Isabella quickly opened her eyes, glanced at him, then closed them again, a small smile playing on her lips.
Sometimes, Matthew was really good, making her feel at ease.
