Chapter 8 : The Legend Of Rivera
“Dear diary,
A lot of unexplainable stuff is happening in my life and I got no idea what is happening. When I think about it, I got trained to fight only the basics but I can literally fight a vampire even Steven!
I don’t know how long is it gonna take for me to understand what’s happening with me or who I am. I can fight and kill a vampire even without a stake, I can heal quickly? How is that possible?
I can do things that are impossible for a normal human..! Am I gonna be the end of my friends?
If that’s the case then I won’t be existing in this world much longer… I can’t live another second after finding out that I killed all of my friends… If it comes to that point… I’d kill myself before they find that out!”
Kate sighed and closed the diary. Her eyes were trickling down tears and she stared out the window lying on the bed. Since she was so busy thinking about her dreadful future and a glimpse of something that might be her past, she forgot to cover herself up with her blanket and she drifted off to sleep…
Meanwhile, Damon caught up with Steven on the football court and threw a ball on Steven, which hit his head … a perfect shot..! “Ouuu…. Hey,” Steven turned around… “What… now you feel pain?” Steven stared at Damon. And he kept rubbing his head… “What? Seriously? You feel pain?” He was almost completely done with Steven and was about to leave but then he replied, “Yes” Damon stopped in his steps. “What?” He turned around in disbelief.
“I feel pain.” He looked up to the ceiling. “What are you talking about? You are practically invincible and now you feel pain?”
“Do you remember the time when I showed you the legend of Rivera?”
“Yes, and you told me about the incessant witch that created you and her but both of you had no idea about each other?” “Yeah… but she knew who I was and I had no idea that she was the reason behind me being weak!”
“You being weak? Why am I knowing about this now?” Damon was going for an outburst when Stefan suddenly joined in... “Well, that might be because you were on a “Humanity-less Damon rampage” Stefan smiled. “Wha” Damon was interrupted by Stefan again. “See you were trying to kill everybody including me and our family so I asked Steven to never talk about this cause you might go looking for the Rivera that’s reborn.”
“Wait… She can be reborn?”
“Well, I think that this time she is actually reborn.” Steven smiled and stopped rubbing his head.
“Wai… what? Is she?” Damon pointed up as if he is pointing at Kate who is sound asleep and cold.
Stefan was surprised at that conclusion though. “So you are saying that Kate is Rivera?”
“I’m afraid so…” He took the ball and started walking out of the football court. “But the thing is, She was never a huntress.” “Yeah, that part doesn’t make any sense.” Stefan looked outside the window in confusion.
“Maybe our little old witch forgot to mention that part about her rebirth…!” Damon smirked.
“She became a badass…”
Steven walked out of the football court and headed straight to Kate’s bedroom to sneak up on her and check out if she is ok. He slightly opened the door and saw Kate sleeping like a baby. For the first time, he stared at her with affection. He never intended to show it out, not even to her. He slowly walked towards her. And lifted up the blanket and covered her up. And slightly touched her face. Shivers went down his spine staring at her. And suddenly his eyes drifted off to Kate’s open diary. He picked it up and read her last entry. And the last line that she wrote made him feel like his heart’s been broken. He felt the pain rushing into his throat. He closed the diary and leaned in to kiss her forehead. And he whispered, “No one is gonna die this time…!”
Stefan was on the field and suddenly he got a call from Elena. She encountered Katherine.
Both Stefan and Damon left the Salvatore house to go look for her.
“What happened?” Stefan asked Elena. “Katherine happened!” Damon sneered in anger.
