Chapter 59 Chapter 59

Chapter 59 Chapter 59

Twilight's POV

“Mom? You…you left me to come here, I don't understand.”

"You destroyed my body and now your friend pay the price."

"Always remember, I don't leave entirely."

“No, I don't have love. That's the lie you humans tell yourselves to feel better.”

“The spirit of Orai have been awoken after you destroyed their messenger.”

“I'm the last of my kind, you cannot do this, Twilight you should understand better.”

“No, you cannot do this.”

“Yes I can and I just did.”

“”You're doing great young warlock, but all actions have consequences.””

“You really thought that, you could watch me when I found my own love, when Darla was here, steal her and all the king get her killed and enjoy yourself later with Twilight?”

“All because of a stupid dragon, and then what Twilight miraculously gets her own dragon when Darla wasn't given a chance?”

You have nothing to worry about, we trust you Twilight and we know your limitations."

"Now, go back and conquer.”

“Ahhh.” I let out a loud scream as I jumped off from the bed.

All the memories had come plaguing at once clogging brain.

“Are you okay?” Devonye asked looking at me.

I came out from the tent, only giving her a small nod and walked down to the bank of a stream that flowed and just sat down.

I looked at the water and all those things came running back, I tried to block them but one remained constant. The one at the dark tower in the Isle of the Lost when Morgana came.

“Are you real?”

“The Morgana I know would never be the tower spirit.”

I had said those things to her. One of the things that sent an arrow to my heart was when even at her dying point, she smiled, her eyes reassured me.

I could never fight her, even as a tower spirit. I looked into the water again and looked at my fingers. I had taken off Devonye's finger because of Athena. I pray the gods forgive me for what I did to my best friend.

“You don't have to be overly worried about it, see it's healing, we're healing.” Devonye said, showing me her hand as she sat by me at the stream bank. It felt like almost everywhere we camped or stayed, it had water there and it was so refreshing.

It had been two weeks since Athena’s second attack and we were meant to proceed, but now I needed help from people getter than my power, the council.

I sat down, inhaling the warm breeze, trying to focus. I spread my hand out in the air so I could feel the connection.

Soon my head felt light and it felt like I was falling from a high cliff and then I landed, in the middle of all of them, the same people who had summoned me sometimes ago and they came out the same way they had that same day.

Everything looked the same except that;

Behind Krai were ten other people this time, for these one they all had a mark on small places on their arm, it was the same tattoo Krai had on his full right and left arm. They also had the tattoo mark on their forehead, they wore a blue robe.

I looked to where Ivy stood, Elena and Violet came out and behind them stoof two other girls each, with their eyes white just like that of the guardians.

Behind mom, stood two men now and another girl was added to the previous girl, with cuffs on their hands and wearing a toga. Their eyes shine, glistening, just like mom’s hair.

I looked at all of them, I sat at the middle and they all just nodded at me in approval. Even though, they were smiling and looked warm, something about the air made me feel tensed. Unlike before, my chest didn't tighten this time, but fear replaced it. It was more like a feeling of fear and satisfaction.

Fear because the council had the most powerful people, their assistants, their disciples or followers and I had called them to tell them that Orai’s messenger had returned and this time she was stronger.

Satisfied because they had honored my invitation.

"To what do we owe this?" Krai started, his warm smile never dropping from his face.

I think he already knew why I was here but he still insisted on asking me. I looked into his eyes, I remember the very first time I had met him.

That day, we had just run from the Heartwood.

I opened my eyes. I looked around, I saw the trees with blood and spiral on them, so where was Isla, Faenik and Ryaknorg?

“In redemption camp.” A man said coming out of flames.

“How, I don't understand.” I said, trying to recollect what the last thing was, before I landed here.

“Nothing here is real, except you and I.” He said.

“So where am I?” I asked.

“In redemption camp too.” He said, waving his hand over something and Isla, Fae, Ryaknorg and me appeared. I was sleeping. That meant my body was there but my soul was here.

“The battle ahead of you is one the world hasn't experienced young warlock.” He said.

“Who are you?” I asked him then.

“Krai. Your mate has met me before.” He had said.

“Your strength is much and there's much more to be unlocked but first you must play by the king's rules to be able to get him.” He continued.

"I see the great warlock has come again, Orai would never give up." He started, getting up from his chiropractor he sat on and if disappeared.

"What do I do? What if she comes again, Isla and Devonye haven't healed from their last injury, finding Isma is hard the chances are like wind." I started, using my hands to show gestures.

"You always think you're alone in this Twilight, but you sometimes forget you have us." Mother said, her hair glowing.

She strode to where I was and curled her hands between my curls, twisting my hair with her fingers.

"You're not going to be there when she kills Isla or Devonye." I protested.

"People die, all the time." Ivy said, finally talking.

"No ivy, Isla must not die, and you know this." I said.

"What we know is that the fate of Aretia lies in your hands. Feel the rhythm, and you'll do great." Violet said.

"What's it worth if my mate dies in the quest to saving the one thing we want to heal!" I shouted, I could feel the vibration of my voice under my feet.

"Silence." One of the men behind Krai shouted.

"We must act accordingly and allow the gods do their will Draven, you alone can decide the fare if you and your friends." He added.

"But I don't know what to do." I said.

"You can figure it out." He concluded, going back behind Krai, to his post.

"Thank you." I said, nodding my head.

"Remember, you have us." Mother said, nodding her head.

"You Twilight are who the prophecies speak off.”

“Everything is so hard, Devonye lost her finger and Isla hasn't healed properly. We cannot start again.” I protested again.

“The power within you three is greater than a nation. Strength doesn't come from the ability to try, it's when you continue.” Ivy said.

“This is only the beginning Twilight, more is yet to come, you're fierce, you can do more than you think.” Violet added backing her up.

"Remember, when the Silver bird flies beyond the horizon, they will rise.” he said and the next thing I was spiralling and then I landed back on Earth.

My chest tightened a bit and then I struggled to breathe and I felt her hand on my body.

"You're good, you're good." Isla said, as I opened my eyes and felt my body on the ground.

I felt the gravity again, my body's temperature, my heartbeat, my leg.

The sun had already come out and Devonye wasn't there again. Since that fight, she had given Isla her distance, she said she needed to heal.

"We need to start training." I said and Devonye came out from where she was.

"Do we start now?" She asked.

She seems almost too eager, like she had been looking for something to pour out all her anger.

“Are you okay?” I asked her.

She just nodded her head quickly and went in to get her sword.

"you outcast."

"Degenerate."

"I love you Twilight Draven."

Her voice played in my head, I needed to get the eggs back and Isma for Isla, something tells me Isma might have some answers that we were looking for.

“I'm ready now let's start.” Devonye said as she came out.

Why do we need to save Aretia anyway? They hurt me, put me in redemption camp, I almost died and here I am again, risking my life for them again.

What if I don't go anymore?
