Chapter 178 Finally

Chapter 178 Finally
Bri

As I am led up onto a stage of some kind, I hear Allen in my head, “We are here.”

“Wait for my signal, and then everyone come in. We’ll need to contain all of them and decide how best to handle all of them here. There are a lot. We might need some kind of buses to transport them if that is what we are going to do, but we can talk about that later.”

“Okay, I’ll let Dad know.” I hear from Armond but leave it at that.

They take me to some kind of chair that has restraints. “Don’t fasten the restraints,” I whisper to them as my vampire surges again. They all get blank looks on their faces and don’t fasten the restraints.

They go back down to where everyone else is. There are benches and chairs set out for everyone in here. There is a podium and projector set up again. If Dekon doesn’t show up tonight again, which is highly doubtful with me here, there is a contingent of guards at the house where they had me this afternoon as well. So, if he stays there, we can still grab him.

However, finally, I see a large group enter the building. I recognize the gargoyles from before, and I alert my mates to their presence. They surround Dekon, and he looks like he thinks of himself as some kind of king as he’s escorted before his lowly subjects. I roll my eyes this time, but I don’t think he can see me from there.

I hear my mates tell me they have the building surrounded, as no others are outside and everyone has gone inside. I see my hybrid friends begin to station themselves close to the doors, to help keep anyone from being able to escape. Although, between glamoring them and my alpha ability, I don’t see any of them being able to get away from me. I could be surprised, though, so I’m glad for their preparedness.

Dekon grins at me as if he’s a cat that has cornered the mouse at last. However, he has no clue that he is truly the mouse in this scenario. Soon, he’ll realize that he fell right into the trap. All because of his fucking ego and thinking he was unstoppable. I am so ready for this bullshit to finally be over and for this mother fucker to finally die.

I suddenly found myself thinking of that young girl that he had taken and tormented all of those months. The one who, when faced with a future of carrying his child and having the threat of his return hanging over her head, she’d chosen to take her own life. I suddenly realized I didn’t know her name.

I asked my mates, “Hey guys, do either of you know the name of the girl that Dekon originally kidnapped and was obsessed with?”

It took a moment, and then I heard Armond, “I asked Dad; he said her name was Elizabeth, Elizabeth Monroe.” I filed that away for later. Elizabeth deserved to have her justice as well.

Dekon approached and climbed the steps to the stage. He turned to his adoring fans as the gargoyles fanned out in front of the stage to act as his bodyguards. I chuckled at the idea of them being able to save him from me, or themselves, really. It was finally time for Karma to kick their fucking asses.

Dekon was now behind the podium, and he cleared his throat. “My children, I am so pleased to finally be able to see you all in person. You have come to witness the culmination of our plans. The ingredient I had been missing is now here, and she will help to move us into the future as the leaders we were always meant to be. With her, we will create our army and take back what belongs to us.” I heard cheers of his adoring idiots.

He turned and looked at me with a sinister smile. As he approached, he looked down and paused, seeing that I wasn’t actually strapped down to the chair. He immediately shot his look to my face, and I let loose with the smile I had been holding back. He turned like he was ready to flee, and I immediately let all three parts surge forward and my shield erected.

Apparently my Fae had learned from my children, and I’d figured if they could do this, so could we, and I’d planned accordingly. Sure enough, my thought to make my shield impenetrable and for him to not be able to leave worked. He bounced off the internal side of the shield and crumpled to the ground.

I shouted over the whole room, “KNEEL!”

Both my alpha power and my vampire’s glamor ability swept the whole room. Everyone hit their knees. The supernaturals in the room were commanded by the alpha, while the humans were compelled by the glamor’s power.

I looked to each of my friends who’d been just as affected, and one by one I told them, “You may stand and be free of my alpha command.” Then they each stood and shook themselves out.

With that, they opened the doors, and my mates as well as our enforcers, Bishop, and even Sean stormed into the room.

Dekon was trying to get up. Not only was he contained by my shield, but when I’d issued the command to kneel, his legs had crumpled beneath him. He was giving me a death glare, and I just smiled at him.

I moved forward until I was right in his face. “You were so sure of your superiority. You were so sure we would never get one over on you. You were so sure you could take me out or overpower me. All of that allowed us to do just that. We played you, I got one over on you, and you will never overpower anyone ever again. Elizabeth deserved to be happy. She deserved to find a mate who would love her, not be tormented by someone obsessed who didn’t know the meaning of the word no. She deserved so much better than you. I hope wherever she is that she sees this and knows that she finally got justice, you fucking son of a bitch.”

With that, my hand shot out, and I ripped out Dekon’s throat. Even as he died, the look of utter incredulity showed on his face. He was so sure no one would outsmart him. His ego had never let him consider defeat. That in itself was our superpower. Now, finally, at last, Elizabeth, myself, and all of the other women he’d hurt had their justice as he lay dead at my feet. I threw the remains of his throat down beside him and took a deep breath.

I looked up, and both of my mates were standing there watching me. The shield was still in place, so I dropped it. They rushed up, embracing me. I cried in relief, and they just held me. Now, for the rest of it, we had people to take care of.
