I was currently draped across my mate’s lap, and I was kissing his neck. I needed blood, and he was more than happy to supply what I and the babies needed. As I bit down, I groaned, not from a sexual thing like other times we shared blood, but more from how good he tasted, the way my body hummed with his blood flowing through me, and just the warmth and connection I felt when he held me like this. 

‘God, I love you,’ I thought to myself, and heard him chuckle against me. “I love you too, baby.” 

I froze when he said that, then I licked my bite wound closed and turned to look at him with wide eyes. “Did you hear me say that?” 

He looked puzzled and nodded. “Of course I heard you say that.” 

“Ah, Armond, I was biting you and drinking your blood when you heard that. I was thinking it, but there is no way I could have said it out loud.” He paused, thinking about that. 

“Holy shit, you’re right. I didn’t think of that; I just heard you say that, and I responded, not thinking about the fact that there is no way you could have been talking to me right at that second.” I nodded. 

Allen was looking back and forth between us. The others had already left for the night, so it was just us here with the babies upstairs asleep. I thought about something. So, I leaned in and kissed Armond on his neck and thought, ‘Alen, can you go and get me some water, please?’

Allen turned and went into the kitchen, returning with a bottle of water and handing it to me. “Here ya go, baby.” 

I pulled back and looked at Armond, and he blinked. He realized that time what I had been doing. He’d felt my lips sealed to his neck, and he knew I hadn’t said that out loud. He turned and looked up at Allen. 

Allen seemed to clue in to what had happened with Armond’s look. “You didn’t say that out loud to me, did you?” I shook my head. 

“Well, I guess we know another ability you have now developed. I wonder why it is happening now and not before?” I thought about that as Allen said that. 

“Well, we’ve honed skills and developed new ones as we’ve gotten older. So, it stands to reason that the more she matures and comes into her parts and powers, she’ll realize more and more what she can do. Heidi did say you were the most powerful person she’d ever met.” I nodded. 

“That still seems so incredibly wild to me.” I huffed out a breath as I ruffled my hair. 

“Well, you are the only one so far that I have met who is a hybrid birth. Your father was a hybrid. Most of those others are from two single-species parents, and they are crazy powerful. Your father was a hybrid, so you are a second-generation hybrid. You are also the only three-species hybrid I have ever heard of. So, with all of that, it stands to reason you’ll be able to do things no one else can.” I nodded, still trying to wrap my head around it. 

“I wonder how far you guys will be able to hear me? That might be something we can measure one day.” They both nodded. 

I was tired, so they helped me upstairs and I got ready for bed. I drank the water Allen had gotten me, and loved the nice hot shower my mates helped me to take. Then they tucked me in before going and checking on the babies. I was out before they even got back. 

I opened my eyes to a dark room. I could hear the soft, deep breathing of both of my mates beside me. I listened to see if perhaps I had heard the babies, but I looked at the monitor on the nightstand, and it was quiet. So I just closed my eyes to try and go back to sleep. Before I could, my bladder let me know that it needed attention, as if too often did now that I was hugely pregnant. 

I had to get Armond to move out of the way, and he was half awake as he got up and helped me up out of bed. I went to the bathroom and was washing my hands when I got hit by the pain. I paused and just breathed for a second until it passed. Then I went back to the bedroom and looked at my mates. Armond had fallen back to sleep. So, either I needed to wake him back up to get back into bed, or I might be able to make him scoot over so I could lie behind him. 

Then I got hit with being hungry and decided I’d go have a snack before I worried about getting back in bed. I listened as I passed the nursery door, but all was quiet. When I got downstairs, I turned on the light in the kitchen and made my way to the fridge to determine what I was craving for a snack tonight. 

Rummaging through and getting several things for a snack tray, I was surprised when I got hit by another pain. Once again, I paused and breathed through it. Now, I was wondering how long it had been since the last one. I decided to wait and see if I would get another one before I indulged in a snack. If by some chance I was in labor or going into labor, eating would not be advisable, or at least eating like this would. 

So, I put things away and just made a cup of tea. I then went and sat on the couch while I started to drink it. Then, sure enough, I got hit with another pain, and this one was stronger than the last two, and I sucked in a breath. When that one passed, I figured then that yes, I was now in labor. I was excited, as I was anxious to see my boys, and let their dads hold them some. 

However, I was also nervous as hell. I hadn’t done this with the triplets. That had been a C-section and not labor and delivery. So, this would be totally new. I was a bit worried about being a crybaby. I mean, that wasn’t my normal, so I didn’t see that happening, but the thought was in the back of my head. 

After the next pain hit me, I thought it would be good to let the guys know that I was in labor, or else they would get upset if I didn’t. So, I headed upstairs to let them know that the babies were definitely on the way.
