We Belong To Each Other

We Belong To Each Other
Colby had just arrived at the scene when he saw Sandra push Tanya into the lake. He screamed, "No," and ran out of his car as he ran toward the lake.

Sandra stared at him in shock, unable to believe that Colby had caught her in the act. Colby dived into the lake without any hesitation.

Meanwhile, Sandra heard sirens blaring and knew that the police had arrived. She did not believe that Colby would send her to jail because he had made a promise to her late sister.

However, she was afraid that if the police arrested her there, her face would be all over the news. She decided to run but at that moment, the police officers surrounded her and pointed their guns at her.

Colby took Tanya out of the lake and laid her on her back. She had lost consciousness already but he quickly untied her hands, freed her mouth, and applied compressions on her chest until she inhaled and coughed out water from both her nose and mouth.

As she stared at Colby, Tanya began to cry. Colby looked at Sandra who had now been handcuffed by the officers and became very angry. He ran to her much to the surprise of the officers and lifted her off the ground.

Carrying her on one side of his shoulder, he ran toward the lake and threw her in. Sandra screamed as she plunged into the deep lake. She tried to swim but because her hands were cuffed behind her, she could not. She eventually started to drown while Colby folded his arms and stared at her without flinching.

One of the officers ran to him and said, "Mr. Tanner, please, if we let her drown like this, it will be the same as murder."

Colby stared at him for a while and finally said, "Fine, you can get her out."

He carried Tanya in his arms and led her toward his car while the officer brought Sandra out of the water.

She had lost consciousness as well so like, Colby, the officer performed CPR on her until she regained consciousness. After that, the officer led Sandra toward the police van. She noticed Colby about to enter his car and said, "Please forgive me, Colby.

Everything I did was out of love. I love you so much and I only wanted to make you mine. Will you really let me go to jail? What about the promises you made to my late sister, your first love?"

Colby stared at her and scoffed, "I don't know who you are, Sandra. To me, you are a criminal who tried to take away what I treasure most in this world. I will make sure you spend the rest of your life paying for this crime."

Sandra screamed, cried, and begged while the officers dragged her into the car and drove her to the station.

Colby drove Tanya to the hospital and the doctor quickly attended to her and gave her analgesics for her pain. Colby sat by her bedside, holding her hands and staring at her all through the time the doctor attended to her.

When the doctor finally left. He said, "I'm so sorry about what you went through, baby. It's all my fault, I should have ensured that you were well protected."

Tanya shook her head, "It's not your fault, Colby. This time too, you saved me. You're my shelter and my strength and I know that whenever I'm in danger, I can always count on you. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for not letting me die.

Let's go get married."

Colby shook his head, "No, Tanya. The wedding can wait until some other time. I want you to get all the needed rest and when you've fully recovered, we will get married. I'm not going anywhere, baby. We belong to each other."

Tanya held both his hands and smiled, "I am fine, Colby. I know we are already four hours late but I want our wedding to happen today, please."

Colby caressed her cheekbone, "Okay, baby. If you want the wedding to still happen today, then it will. Your wish is always my command."

Colby had Tanya discharged and took her home. He began making different calls and soon, a new gown was brought for her and the make-up artists, hair stylists, and photographers were called back.

Tanya and Colby quickly took their baths and changed into their new clothes. Colby wore a black suit and waited in the room with Tanya until she was ready.

He stared at her in awe when she turned and faced him. He could not hold himself back and tried to kiss Tanya but she placed her finger on his lips and whispered, "No, Darling, save it for the church."

Colby smiled, "I can't help it, baby. You're the most beautiful bride I have ever seen."

Tanya smiled back and held his hand as they left for the church together. When they arrived at the church, everyone had gone, save for the priest who was waiting because Colby had called him.

As they stood at the entrance of the church, Tanya stared at Colby and said, "All our guests have left."

"I will explain to them later," Colby replied. "Cheer up, baby. What did I tell you about the people that need to be present for a wedding to be successful?"

Tanya smiled, "The bride, the groom, and the priest."

Colby reached out his hand and held hers, "Let's, go in, my love."

THREE MONTHS LATER

Colby drove into Tanya's college and said, "Okay, ma'am. Your driver has officially delivered you to school, off you go now."

Tanya laughed, "I love it when you get so professional."

"You're enjoying this aren't you?" Colby asked. "I know you deliberately failed your driving test so you can blackmail me into dropping you off every day."

Tanya smiled, "It's not me, Colby. It's your baby. She specifically said 'I want daddy to drop us off at school."

Colby threw his head back and laughed, "Funny how you blame everything on our little princess. She is barely two months old and you have turned her into the culprit for all of your crimes. I already feel sorry for her or him. Could be a prince, you know."

Tanya placed a hand on her tummy, "I feel it's a princess but even if it's a prince, I will love him nonetheless. I should go now, I'm almost late for my class."

Tanya opened the door to leave but Colby held her back and closed the door. He took out a small bottle of perfume from his pocket and said, "Channel number three. As always, I want you to smell like me."

Tanya closed her eyes and inhaled the fragrance as Colby sprayed the perfume on her.

She opened her eyes and said, "Thank you, Darling, I will call you when I'm done for the day."

"What about my goodbye kiss?" Colby asked.

Tanya kissed him briefly and turned to leave but he held her back once again and said, "That won't do, baby," before crashing his lips against hers.

When he finally let her go, Tanya opened her bag and quickly adjusted her makeup before opening the door.

"Goodbye, sweet wifey," Colby said as he waved at her."

She smiled and waved back, "Goodbye, sweet hubby."

THE END.
