Chapter 113

Chapter 113

Ethan was floored by the question.

Kevin glared at Ethan, his eyes icy. "Why don't you say something? Did I hit a nerve?"

Ethan scoffed, "You're overthinking it. I've always respected Stepmom. I'm not as low and shameless as you, lusting after her."

"You better keep it that way, because she's mine." Kevin smirked, full of confidence and arrogance, as he moved to enter the house.

Ethan's gaze darkened, his voice deep, "Aren't you afraid I'll tell father about all this?"

"Be my guest." Kevin showed no fear of Ethan.

Ethan's eyes grew colder, his tone sinister, "You're not afraid of him finding out?"

"Why should I be? Even if he finds out, what's he gonna do? Kick me out of the house? Been there, done that."

"Besides, if he kicks me out, I can do whatever I want with Rachel."

Ethan's expression darkened. "You're insane!"

"Stop pretending. You want her." Kevin directly exposed Ethan's inner thoughts.

He laughed wickedly, "But I have to tell you, her moans sound much more pleasant when heard up close than through the wall."

Ethan clenched his fists, veins bulging, "Shut up!"

His eyes were icy cold, and without giving Ethan a chance to react, Kevin turned to leave.

Ethan's eyes narrowed with a vengeful glint as he watched Kevin's retreating figure, filled with anger.

Ethan stormed forward, determined to confront him.

But Kevin shut the door, leaving Ethan outside, staring at the door with a deep, unreadable gaze.

He never expected Rachel to be sleeping with Kevin behind Isaac's back.

Ethan decided to investigate thoroughly and tell Isaac about it.

Thinking about finally getting rid of Kevin, the thorn in his side, he felt a strange sense of joy.

Since he returned home, most of the company's power had shifted to Kevin.

Even though Ethan was abroad, he often saw his youngest brother taking charge in meetings.

For Ethan, this was not a good thing. He wanted the inheritance too—a child raised by Isaac couldn't be without ambition.

But Isaac favored Ralph, and he had a strong, capable little brother.

As the least favored son with no power, Ethan naturally didn't want to see Kevin doing better than him.

If Isaac found out, Kevin might lose his inheritance rights and be kicked out of the Smith family.

That would mean one less rival for Ethan.

But what about Rachel?

From her past stories, he knew her life hadn't been great.

And she had been forced to marry his father.

A month ago, he hated this vain, gold-digging woman, but now he couldn't live without her.

Ethan didn't know what was happening to him.

He rubbed his forehead, exhaling deeply.

When did Rachel move into his heart?

Now, Ethan couldn't shake the image of Rachel moaning under Kevin.

It was clear Rachel favored Kevin more.

Ethan felt a bitter, indescribable emotion welling up inside, ready to explode.

He forced it down, his brow furrowing.

...

Rachel woke up to the bright sunlight streaming onto her face.

She raised her hand, trying to block the light.

That's when she felt a burning sensation in her lower body, a pain spreading through her.

Rachel got up, enduring the soreness, trying to stand, yet she still fell to the floor.

Rachel struggled to stand, and the door opened.

Ethan stood at the door, his face dark, staring coldly at Rachel.

Ethan's voice was icy. "When did you start sleeping with Kevin?"

How did he find out? Rachel looked at Ethan in disbelief.

Ethan's gaze was intense. "Answer me!"

"Are you mistaken? How could I possibly..." Rachel tried to cover it.

"Kevin already admitted it." Ethan's voice was cold as he looked at Rachel.

Rachel's eyes darkened, suppressing her anger, she shouted, "Ethan, why are you questioning me like this? Do you think I'm the kind of person Kevin says I am?"

Ethan snorted, "If you're not, why are you so angry? Stepmom, are you feeling guilty?"

Rachel clenched her fists, staring coldly at Ethan.

"Don't you think you're being excessive? If you suspect me and Kevin, then tell your father!" Rachel was actually feeling guilty.

But she knew she couldn't panic. If she did, Ethan would win.

Seeing Rachel's righteous stance, Ethan's gaze dimmed, his voice deep. "I just want to know if Kevin forced you."

Rachel immediately put on an innocent expression, tears streaming down her face.

Ethan walked up to Rachel, seeing the marks on her chest, his gaze darkened.

He grabbed Rachel's shoulders. "So he did force you, didn't he?"

"Ethan, calm down," Rachel said softly.

Ethan roared, "I can't calm down! How dare he treat you like this? No wonder he threatened me before; he's been coveting you all along."

"Ethan, don't stoop to his level. Don't fight with him, okay?" Rachel looked at Ethan, her voice deep, trying to soothe his agitated heart.

Ethan stood up, ready to confront Kevin.

Seeing this, Rachel got up from the floor, grabbing Ethan's arm, pleading, "Don't go to him, please!"

"No!" Ethan looked at Rachel coldly.

Rachel bit her lip. "Listen to me, don't go to him! He's not someone you can deal with, Ethan..."

"Why can he do this? Can't you refuse?"

"He's fearless. He's not even afraid of Isaac at all." Rachel started crying, tears streaming down. "But if your father finds out, I'm the one who'd suffer!"

Seeing her tears, Ethan felt bad.
