Sample chapter 2
Mr. Thomas," the FBI Director called out, looking over the documents on the desk in front of him. "Let's get straight to the point. The money you transferred to the offshore account..." He raised his head and looked at Mr. Thomas, then continued, "What did you use it for?"
Mr. Thomas sat in an iron chair, with a confused and sad expression on his face. The room was quiet, which seemed strange to him. He was taken to an interrogation room for further questioning. "Look..." Mr. Thomas leaned over the table and placed his handcuffed hands on it. "...I don't know what you're talking about, but I..." I don’t even have an overseas account.”
“Okay, okay…” the principal tossed a white piece of paper in front of Mr. Thomas’ nose, “…explain that to me,” he said, leaning back in his seat and supporting Mr. Thomas with his right arm on the table. He made a chin with his index finger and thumb. Mr. Thomas picked up the paper and stared at it. His eyes were wide with shock. The contents of the paper were transfers of funds to various offshore accounts, possibly illegal, for drug trafficking. "I swear to you, I don't know how…" The director quickly interrupted him. "Mr. Thomas, I don't want to make it hard on you, but if you don't cooperate with us…" He leaned over to Mr. Thomas and said, "…you're guaranteed 30 years in prison." He leaned back in his chair. "That can't be!" Mr. Thomas bowed his head in pain. The director stood up and said, "Think about it. Think about your daughter." Mr. Thomas quickly raised his head. "Willa!" he said quietly, but his tone was full of pain and sadness. >>>
John was sitting in his cozy office, the cigar smoke he exhaled rising upstairs. He picked up his cell phone, entered some numbers, then put it to his ear. "Everything was handled perfectly. For now we don't need to follow their footsteps." The voice on the other end said, "What if he leaks the truth about everything?" John was silent for a few seconds before answering. I'll make sure he doesn't do that and I'll spend some time in prison. "
John hung up and put the phone on the desk. "Well, Mr. Thomas, you have to take the responsibility. I have to save the company," his voice sounded arrogant and ruthless. >>>
"Dad!" Willa ran to her father, who remained locked in the interrogation room. She hugged him tightly and cried uncontrollably. "How? What happened?" she asked slurringly. "It's okay, Willa." He took his daughter in his arms and looked her straight in the eyes. "So, what happened?" she asked, wiping away her tears. She grabbed a seat and sat closer to him. "Well, I can't say at this point, but I think someone might be trying to frame me to cover up some illegal business. Mr. Thomas' words hit Willa straight in the heart." "Him!" Willa asked, raising her left eyebrow in confusion. Suddenly the door to the interrogation room opened, interrupting the conversation. The director came in and stood in front of Mr. Thomas and said, "It's time." Willa looked at her father, confused. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice barely louder. As two agents came in and were about to take Mr. Thomas away, he finally said, "We're going to get through this. And with that the two agents took Mr. Thomas away." Mr. Thomas was taken into the courtroom to be sentenced. >>>
The courtroom was packed, and a case was being heard before Mr. Thomas' case.
"I hereby dismiss all evidence against Mr. Fay and declare him innocent," the judge said, banging his gavel before asking a question about the next case. This time Damien won his client's case again. Proud of himself, he smiled confidently at his client. "Thank you, Mr. Damien." Mr. Fay thanked Damien and shook his hand. "I'm glad, Faye," Damien smiled back. Mr. Thomas was brought into the courtroom and stood in the courtroom. After the judge was presented with all the evidence showing Mr. Thomas's involvement in money laundering, he handed down the verdict. "Based on all the evidence showing Mr. Thomas's involvement in money laundering, I hereby sentence Mr. Thomas to 35 years in prison without bail." These words resonated deeply with Mr. Thomas and etched themselves in his heart. Suddenly, Mr. Thomas had difficulty breathing, his palms were sweaty, and his face was white. Willa tried to get up from her seat to approach her father, but a police officer standing next to the witness stand denied her the opportunity to see him. "This is my father. I want to talk to you. Please," Willa pleaded, but the officer would not listen. Then suddenly, Thomas collapsed to the floor. He was quickly taken out of the courtroom and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Damien stood there, watching the whole scene without intervening. He knew how weak and helpless Willa was, but that didn't bother him. His legal expertise isn't free. He walked over to her and helped her to her feet. "Here," he offered Willa his hand and tried to pick her up. "Here's my card. If you need help, just call me. He handed her his business card and walked away."
Willa took the card and glanced at it, seeing a name written in bold letters on a smooth blue card: DAMAIN MATHEW.

Mr. Thomas woke up from his slump. Sliding along the ceiling, he turned his gaze to the unfamiliar environment, and the smell of medicine and disinfectant spray hit his nose. It was then that he realized he was in a hospital.
Thomas groaned and tried to get up, but quickly realized that his left arm was tied down. “Is that necessary?” he said to himself. A doctor came in and approached Thomas. “How are you feeling?” he asked, trying to check his vital signs. Thomas smiled weakly and replied, “That’s better, doctor.”
Willa came over as soon as she could to check on her father. “Thank God, Dad,” she said, and hugged him tightly. "I thought I lost you."
"Uhh...!" Thomas groaned quietly. "Oh, I'm sorry, Dad," she pulled away from him and asked, "What did the doctor say?" "Willa, come to my office right now," the doctor told her and left the room. Willa stood up and looked at her father before leaving the room. "Willa, your father has had a heart attack," the doctor said quietly, not knowing how to break the news to her. "He's lucky they brought him in so quickly."
Willa's eyes were almost full of tears. The news that her father had a heart attack was not good. "So, doctor, are you OK?" she asked, wiping away her tears. "Well, for now he is, but I'm worried that if he has another attack he'll probably have a stroke."
Willa felt a heavy, sharp pain shoot through her heart. She couldn't understand what the doctor was saying and just sat there looking totally confused. Willa left the exam room and returned to the clinic where her father was, when she opened the door she couldn't find him.
An Encounter with the Devil Willa looked around the room but couldn't see her father. She went outside and checked the room number to make sure she was in the right room. It was 231, the same number that was written on the door. Willa looked all over the hospital for her father but couldn't find him. Willa went to the reception desk and spoke to the woman sitting behind the desk. "Please, have you seen my father?" she asked in a trembling, weak voice. The woman gave her a cold look and lethargically chewed her gum as she spoke, "So, who is your father?"
