Chapter 164 - My Rejected Wife Is A Billionaire
"I promise, once she gets better, I'll definitely let you meet her. Justin, can you give her some time for the sake of the kindness she once showed you?"
Tears streamed down Erin's face, making her seem even more pitiful. Her sorrowful voice stirred a sense of compassion.
Finally, Justin gave up the idea of breaking in.
It wasn't out of pity for Erin but driven by the fear that Blinky had indeed returned.
She had even given him her cornea; how could he allow her to suffer any harm?
He stepped back and warned Erin sternly, "You know what I'm capable of. If this is a fabrication, better come clean sooner rather than later!"
With that, he disappeared from the doorway.
Hearing Justin drive away, Elio clutched his chest, staggered back, and collapsed onto the sofa.
Erin was also in fear, her face ashen and forehead slick with sweat.
She clung to the cold metal armrest of her wheelchair to keep from collapsing.
After some time, she slowly wheeled herself to the door, unlocking it to reveal an empty room.
"Erin, have you lost your mind? How dare you trick Justin!" Elio struggled to his feet and made his way over, panting. "Do you have any idea how dangerous that was? I was scared out of my wits."
"It's not the first time we've pulled off a con. What's there to fear!" Erin responded coldly, regaining her composure.
"We just need another woman to take her role, and we'll be fine!"

After Edgar's prolonged absence following his visit to Beacon, Cecilia couldn't help but worry, making repeated calls to him.
Edgar gave vague responses, claiming he was tied up with important matters. Yet when she inquired further, he couldn't provide any details.
On the weekend, Cecilia picked up Nico.
Sabina called, expressing a desire to see Nico and suggesting they have a meal together.
Cecilia and Nico headed to the restaurant in advance as Sabina was still on her way.
Just as they sat down, Cecilia received a call from an unfamiliar number, yet the voice on the other end was unmistakably Arthur's, a man who had once pursued her.
Cecilia frowned, puzzled at how he knew her number.
"Cecy, if you have time, you should come back for a visit. Your dad is currently..."
Before Cecilia could inquire further, the call was abruptly ended.
Arthur's words left Cecilia feeling unsettled, her appetite for dinner vanishing.
When Sabina arrived, Cecilia left Nico with her and drove straight to Beacon.
Parking at the entrance, she hurriedly pushed through the gate.
Despite the darkness, she spotted Edgar bending over to speak with someone in the yard.
Cecilia couldn't see that person's face, but she could tell it was a woman.
Judging from her voice, she was quite young.
So... Edgar was dating a young woman?
Turning on her phone's flashlight for a better view, she called out, "Dad!"
A beam of light focused on Edgar.
Edgar seemed taken aback for a moment before recognizing Cecilia. "Cecy, what brings you here?"
She approached, looking at him under the dim light. "You've been away for so long, I got worried and came to check on you."
It was surprising for Cecilia to think her father would be involved with someone so young.
She looked at the woman with concern, her features obscured by darkness and disheveled hair.
Cecilia noticed they were about the same age.
Noticing Cecilia's gaze, Edgar cleared his throat awkwardly. "I intended to return earlier, but then this young lady showed up. She couldn't tell me where she lived. Taking her to the police station only led to a scene. They couldn't handle her and suggested waiting for her family to find her. With no place for her at the station, she ended up coming back with me."
Cecilia instantly understood the situation.
She knew she was thinking too much. Her father had always been upright and honest. How could he harbor feelings for such a young woman?
Cecilia then suggested, "She's been here so long with no one looking for her; she might have been abandoned. Perhaps taking her to a shelter would be best." Keeping an unidentified woman with potential mental health issues around was quite troubling.
After pondering for a moment, Edgar agreed, "That might be best."
"Cecy."
As they talked, a voice suddenly interrupted.
Cecilia paused, looking around.
"You know my daughter?" Edgar was the first to react, asking the woman in surprise.
The woman nodded. "I know Cecy. Cecy was always so beautiful in her dresses. She was the prettiest little princess in the village."
Cecilia directed the flashlight at the woman, brushing aside the messy hair covering her face.
Edgar leaned in for a closer look as well.
Searching her memory, Cecilia suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "You're Sissi!"
"Sissi?" Edgar seemed even more surprised. "How could she be... Sissi?"
Sissi was the daughter of his former apprentice, and she had lived with them for a long time.
