Chapter 155 - My Rejected Wife Is A Billionaire
Justin didn't fight back.
Instead, he remained expressionless as if he hadn't heard anything.
His indifference made Lucas feel outmatched, and he instantly loosened his grip.
Just as he was about to retreat, Justin clenched his shoulders tightly.
He pressed on them hard and asked sternly, "What exactly have you learned?"
Lucas was surprised that Justin had reacted rather quickly.
However, he smiled and responded, "I was just joking."
With that, he gently pushed away Justin's hands and left.
Justin tensed up while watching him leave.
He understood Lucas well enough to know he wouldn't get unreasonably angry.
But since last night, Lucas had targeted him twice, clearly harboring some concerns!
In fact, Justin's visit was motivated by a desire to understand what was troubling Lucas.
His eyes darkened under the dim light. Soon, he regained his focus and dialed Marvin. "Look into Lucas and find out what he's hiding."
Twenty minutes later, Marvin came over.
"Mr. Vinchy has had his men investigating Cecilia recently," he reported.
Learning that Lucas had been probing into Cecilia's affairs, Justin paused and frowned in displeasure.
He disliked the idea of anyone, especially Lucas, digging into Cecilia's life.
Maintaining his indifferent facade, he inquired, "What did they find out about her?"
"I don't know yet," Marvin replied.
Justin slowly squinted his eyes.
After a moment, he instructed, "Find out more about Cecilia."
Then, Marvin silently exited the private room.

Standing at the entrance of a caf?? near her apartment, Cecilia was waiting for Sabina to join her for a shopping trip.
While waiting, she started to browse her reading platform's data on her phone.
Then, a clicking noise of footsteps made her look up.
A shrill voice followed, and something hit her chest hard. "If you're in need of money, come to me instead of bothering Justin!"
Looking up, Cecilia saw Brie, her face filled with disdain as if looking at a pile of trash.
What she had intended to slam into Cecilia's arms were two pieces of paper.
More precisely, they were two cheques.
However, they ended up floating to the ground because Cecilia didn't catch them in time.
Cecilia was familiar with Brie's public grace and private venom. She picked up those cheques and said leisurely, "Mrs. Quinn, perhaps it's wise to mind your image, lest you become a spectacle."
"You..." Brie's lips trembled with suppressed rage, yet she didn't dare to overreact.
"Four million dollars. Is that enough?" she hissed after making sure nobody was looking at her.
"Thank you, Mrs. Quinn," Cecilia said.
Seeing her accept the cheques, Brie disdainfully added, "Consider this charity from me. Since you're evidently incapable of properly caring for Nico, hand her over to us. Take this four million dollars and leave; make sure to never come back!"
Cecilia couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity.
Brie wanted to control her with only four million dollars? How ridiculous!
"You're probably aware that our family will soon ally with Chicago's Antler family through marriage. Don't delude yourself into thinking clinging to Justin will lead to a reconciliation."
Then, Brie glanced at her in disdain and handed over a document. "This is an agreement to give up Nico's custody. Sign it, and you can walk away with the money."
Cecilia glanced over the agreement but didn't rush to sign it. Instead, she took out two more cheques from her purse.
Then, Cecilia put all the cheques on the agreement, imitating Brie's tone. "Feel free to name your price and then sign your name right here."
While speaking, she pointed at the end of the agreement.
"You..." Brie never expected her to disobey her order.
Her face instantly turned livid, her features contorted in anger.
Cecilia's indifference only fueled Brie's fury. She pressed her chest hard and almost fainted in anger.
Her hand trembled as she raised the blank cheques. "I know exactly what you are. Without Future Star Media and its boss, you're penniless!"
"If you doubt me, go ahead, fill in any amount. Let's see if I can cover it," Cecilia responded flatly.
But how could Brie fill them?
If she did, it would be her asking Cecilia for money!
Brie said firmly, "Even if you have enough money, it can't be yours! It's from the boss of Future Star Media or Justin!"
Hearing this, Cecilia sneered mockingly, "Mrs. Quinn, let me make this crystal clear. I haven't spent a dime of Mr. Quinn's money, nor have I any intention of cozying up to him. And as for pining for him, that's utterly implausible. Justin is just my ex-husband. My taste might be poor, but I'm not interested in getting back the trash I've discarded! I know you value your dignity greatly, so you'd better stop talking nonsense!"
Before Brie could retaliate, Cecilia threw the previous cheques into a nearby trash bin and walked away without hesitation.
Exiting a meeting, Justin found Brie in his office, frantically swallowing pills to calm her racing heartbeat.
"What's the matter?" he couldn't help but ask, noting her distress.
Overwhelmed with frustration yet trying to remain composed, Brie straightened up and said, "Do you have any idea what Cecilia said to me?"
