Chapter 103 - My Rebellious Luna
BECKY POV
I pulled the screen down towards me and saw the last man I ever wanted to see in my life. Before I knew his name, he was my attacker, the one who killed my angelito (angel). Now I know the moron's name is Hugh. Matt and Jerry quickly ran out, heading for the cameras he was spotted on. “Wait.” They turned to face me. “Go in the bunker.” Matt tried to order me.
My hand met my hip and conveyed the universal body language for "excuse you"? “Sorry Luna but…” I held my hand up. “You’re not going to find him there. Have the warriors search around the area but tell them not to go anywhere near the cameras. He was doing something to them, probably wanting to disable them. If they still work now, they probably won’t for long.” I reasoned.
Matt quickly mindlinked the warriors that were the last line of defense to begin the search. Jerry got on his radio, probably with Rob, and updated him on everything. They continued speaking for a moment but Jerry seemed worried now. “What’s going on?” I asked when he got off the radio. “The fire that was behind them caused them to go around and it’s going to take them at least two hours to get back.” He said in frustration.
I looked around at our seemingly empty pack. Only warriors running around doing their jobs. “We have plenty of warriors and our pack members are in the bunker. Even if we catch this idiot, it won’t matter. Whatever he was here to do, he’s done it. Whatever surprise you have planned, Jerry, take Matt with you and get it done. I have a feeling Alpha Adam is nowhere near done with us.” I sighed, trying not to feel so defeated.
They managed to get the jump on us, even with all of the planning we did. What could we have done differently? Wait here like prisoners until they attack again and again? Things were meant to turn out this way and there was nothing we could have done differently. “Gamma, Luna! We caught this intruder lurking around.” Two warriors came forward dragging Hugh towards us.
The look on his face when he saw me was disturbing to say the least. “Mal parido (bastard).” I sneered at him. He winked and blew me a kiss. Matt quickly returned the kiss with his fist. “Ha ha ha! I was hoping we would get some more time alone.” He spit out blood and pouted with his busted lip. “I’m taking him to the dungeon. We will have a few warriors stand guard.” Matt announced, and the two warriors followed, dragging Hugh with them.
A few minutes later, Matt was back. He seemed affected by his visit to the dungeon. I was sure it had to do with Naomi, but I didn’t have time to ask right now. We began to walk towards the bunker when two explosions went off. Jerry pulled up his tablet, confirming the two cameras Hugh had been captured on were now offline. That left a huge open gap for Dark Shadows to come stomping through.
Matt began to mindlink and I did the same. I’m sure everyone in the bunker felt the earth shake. I needed to assure everyone that no one was hurt and that they were safe. “We expected this. Besides, all the cameras were going to do was show us they were coming and we already knew that. In fact, they should be here soon.” I didn’t want to leave Jerry and Matt on their own but I couldn’t put my pup at risk.
MATT POV
Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. Instead of Becky freaking out, she’s shown why she is a true Luna. Hooking my arm with hers, I began to walk her towards the bunker. I knew that she wanted to protect her pup but didn’t want to leave us alone out here. It would do no good to explain to her that it was our job and we did it with pride.
The bunker door was in our sights when another two explosives went off, this time in front of us and much closer. The force of the blast threw us back a few feet. I managed to hold on to Becky and cradle her, breaking her fall. She might be able to heal now that she is a wolf, but I didn’t want to risk anything happening to our future Alpha.
Jerry ran over and helped Becky up as I got on my feet. ‘You okay?” He asked Becky. She blinked a few times and nodded her head. “That was the dungeon. Did your warriors check the prisoner before locking him up?” Jerry asked.
I thought for a moment and realized they didn’t. I shook my head and mindlinked some warriors to find the escaped prisoners. There were several rogues, ranger asshat and Hugh on the loose now. “I’m going to take a look in the dungeon, see if everyone escaped or if there are any casualties.” My heart sank a little at the thought that Naomi could have been hurt.
I pushed those thoughts aside and continued on my way to take Becky to the Bunker. I had warriors coming our way just in case we encountered any problems. We froze in place when the escaped rogues appeared in front of the bunker door. Two of them were dragging Naomi with them by her arms. “Luna! Come with us willingly and we will spare her.” One of the rogues yelled.
Why he thought we would trade Becky for Naomi was a mystery. I didn’t want to see her die but she was in a dungeon. For treason no less. “Please Matt! Becky! Don’t let them kill me!” Naomi cried and tried to pull away.
I turned and Becky seemed torn. She was actually considering saving Naomi. “Sorry Naomi! You made your choice.” I answered and began to look for a good exit route. They were still far enough that we could get away. They were standing in front of the bunker door. Asshat must have told them where it was.
Fifteen warriors showed up behind me, ready to attack the rogues. Two more explosions went off near the shops. Looking at the group of rogues in front of us, I noticed Hugh and asshat were missing. “Send a group of warriors to find two missing intruders.” I mindlinked Chris. At this point, we were being over extended.
We had warriors helping guard the borders, another group guarding the blind spot created by Hugh. Some were putting out fires and looking for the moron starting them. Dark Shadows would arrive any second now and my Luna was not safely behind those doors. I had to make a tough call. “Get them away from the bunker door.” I ordered the warriors behind us.
The warriors began to move forward when a howl broke through the forest. We turned to see Alpha Adam and a large group of warriors surrounding us. “Not so fast, Gamma. I have a surprise for your Luna.” Adam smiled widely and eyed Becky up and down. The warriors at his sides parted and my Luna gasped and began to shake.
