POV: Aiden
Fuck! Fairy blood. He was here. He's trying with me. He was so close. Darach could have gotten Adalind and I would have never known until it was to late. The thought alone runs chill down my spine.
I summon Randell to me. I am Randall's sire so I can summon him without physically calling him. After Randell is summoned I alert the dean of the university of the situation. I'm running this investigation. The dean would not go against me. No one would dare to even try to stop me.
I already know who did this. It was Darach. This girl did not have to die. All he needed was her blood. Randell shows up. "Clean this up and alert her family of her passing." I order him.
I sent Adalind home. I'll go to here later. We still need to talk. When she told me that she was going to be taken out of school and almost rejected I couldn't let that happen. She can't go. I won't lose her. She is my one. I have been fighting a losing battle with her. I can't fight anymore. I give in.
Her lips were the softest lips I've ever felt in all my years. It was clear how inexperienced she is in the kiss but that only added character to it. It made it mean more that it was her first. I plan to be all those firsts for her.
I walk back to my class and finish up my lesson. I have one right after this class. Adalind did not attend. I place a movie on the subject I'm teaching today. I go through all of Adalind's assignments and test and grade them right this time.
She's actually a smart girl. I shouldn't be surprised though. She's getting all A's in her other subjects. You could tell she rushed through the group assignments she had to do alone. They weren't her best work but she did what she could in the alloted time given.
Some of her theories were quite close to how it happened outside the textbooks. I did live through it. You can see her passion in it. I wonder what her major is.
I finish fixing her grade and enter it into the computer. I add a note that it was some glitch to her previous grades and are now fixed.
After I dismiss my class I leave for Adalind. I know where she lives because I followed her a few times home before. There are guards around but it's nothing I can't get past. I speed to the front door of her house.
I knock on the door and wait for her to answer. She better hurry up. This sun is unbearable. Two minutes later she is standing in front of me with the door opened.
"What are you doing here. How did you? Why? My dad is not going to like you being here and the guards will report it to him." She says. "Are you just going to stand there or let me in. We need to talk." I say impatient.
She turns around walking further into the house leaving the door opened. I walk inside closing the door. "My dad is going to be pissed with you being here." She says again. "Let him. He should get used to it."
She is shocked and confused by my statement. "What? We can sit in here." She leads me to the living room and sits on the couch. I sit next to her causing her to scoot over.
"Why are you here?" She asks. I pull out all of her newly graded work to show her that it is fixed. She looks at all of it. "You fixed it? Why? Are these grades real?"
"Yes they are real. I fixed them so you can stay in school." I answer. "So you can continue to be mean to me." She says sadly. "No. I'm sorry Adalind."
"What!? Is this some kind of trick? Andrea shut up!" She says. I don't think that last part was meant to be put loud. "Who is Andrea?" I ask. "My wolf. She accepts but I do not." She say stubbornly.
"It's not a trick. I really am sorry. Maybe it would help if you understood why i don't like wolves. You see centuries ago vampires and werewolves and lycans we allies until Victoria." I start out.
"Who's Victoria?" Adalind asks curious. "Victoria was someone I loved long ago. She betrayed me. Turns out she was plotting with a werewolf alpha against me. They wanted to over throw me. They failed and I killed them both. Victoria was the last person I loved and she left me to be with a wolf. After that war the relationship between our species has not been the same since."
"So all of this is because of an affair? You blame the whole race for one wolfs actions. How is that fare?" She says. "I didn't care. It was not only the person but an entire pack backes them along with other packs so yes I can blame them all."
"So you hate me because your still pissed and you have a broken heart." She says sadly. "I don't have a broken heart."
Adalind looks down at her hands fidgeting them around. "Why did you kiss me?" She ask shyly.
"I couldn't lose you. Adalind I really am sorry. I can't fight this bond or my feeling for you anymore." I admit.
"So you're saying that you accept me?" She asks emotionally. "Yes and I don't expect you to accept my apology. Just know that I am."
She nods her head. "Princess are you aware that you are entertaining a vampire?" One of the guards comes in saying. "Yes I'm aware. Please don't tell dad about this." She begs the guard.
"I am sorry princess but I am under orders to report to the king." The guard says tensely eyeing me. Does her father not give her any freedom?
"Great. I'm in so much trouble." She sighs. I think her father should get plenty used to me being around. The guards leaves most likely to report to the Alpha King.
"How did you get past the guards?" Adalind asks. "Easy. They didn't even see me."
"Oh princess I forgot this came for you." The same guard enters with a box. "Thank you." She says looking at the box.
She starts opening the box using her claws. "So what now. You just accept me and we because mates or ones or whatever you call it?" I chuckle. "In a matter of speaking yes. Do you accept me?"
She pauses looking at me. "I... I want to but I'm scared to. I'm afraid this is some kind of trick." She confesses.
I kiss her lips softly and gently. "No tricks." I whisper in her ear as I pull away. She blushes turning back to her box. She pulls out a small cooler bag and some baked goods. She smiles.
Inside the the cooler bag is blood bags. "You should feed." I remind her. "Seriously. I'm fine." She argues. I grab a balloon bag and hand it to her. "Eat. Don't think I won't still be making you eat. Our lessons are far from over."
"Ugh fine." She says annoyed and eats like I told her to. "Why do you make me do that?" She asks. "Because it helps to feed everyday and it's not healthy for you not to feed everyday. You could desecate." I explain.
"I didn't know. I haven't really had any help with this stuff. Mom would sneak me books when she could on the subject but I had to be careful with it around dad." She admits. "I know. It quite obvious how little you know."
It seems her mother was the only one to fully embrace her for what she is from the very beginning. She suddenly tenses. Her eyes gloss over. She gets thi very angry look.
Her eyes go to normal. "Sorry my dad just mind linked me. Just give me one minute." She says grabbing her phone.
"Mom Dad is being unfair again." She says in the phone. I chuckle. She doesn't like what her dad says so she goes to mommy.
I listen to the other side of the phone wanting to know whats going on. Its most likely that guard has already reported and now Adalind is in trouble.
"Whats going on now?" Her mother asks. "I may have lied on my birthday about finding my mate and he may be a vampire. Dad found out and now he's mad." Adalind explains.
I smirk. The little liar. "Did you lie because you thought he would not approve?" He mom asks.
"Part of it. Look I don't want to talk about that part. It doesn't even matter now. Dad is really mad."
"OK tell me exactly what happened and was said." Her mom says. "OK so Aiden was here and a guard saw us and told dad. Dad mindlinked me saying my full name. That's when I knew he was mad when he used my middle name." Adalind starts. She gets up and starts pacing the floor.
"Then he asked me about it. I didn't want to tell him through mindlink but he alpha ordered me so I had no choice. He's never done that to me before." Adalind cries. I grab her wrist and pull her down on my lap holding her. She looks at me shocked but soon relaxes into it.
"He did what. What else did he do?" Her mom asks her sounding not very happy. "He told me that I was coming home and I told him no. That was not the agreement we had. He still won't let me go. Dad then said something about the goddess and destiny or whatever. He's still going off in my head." Adalind finishes. "OK give me one minute. I will say this we are coming to you though. There is something you need to know. Your mate should stay as well. I have a message for both of you. I was not to give it to you until you found your mate and I was to tell you both together." Her mother says.
"Um ok? I will see you soon but please make dad stop." Adalind begs. "Oh my goddess that is not even what I just said. Ugh. He is so unreasonable." Adalind huffs. "Sorry you had to hear that. My dad is very strict when it comes to me. I'm always singled out. My brothers have a complete different set of rules than me."
"Its fine. What was that bit about a message and me needing to hear it?" I ask her. "My mom is moon blessed. The moon goddess has a message for us. I don't know anything about it." She answers.
What would the moon goddess have to tell me? "Do you want to watch a movie? They should be here in about four or five hours." She offers.
I agree to this. I keep her in my lap relaxing back as she pick a movie. Now to wait for the Lycan King. Oh joy.
