Chapter 119
“Yes your legs will never work again a nerve got damaged and they did decompress it but we had to get the bleeding under control so we had to wait till we were done and that was too long. But I can see you are in a good mood and are ok with it Punisher if you need to talk to anyone about it we have a counselor you can talk to about it Tony the specialist we talked to about her case he is here reviewing everything. He knows you don’t want him to touch her so he is just going to look at the recording. He also said he can talk to you about ways to help her legs so they don’t hurt when the feeling comes back. He said she wont be able to walk even with feeling. Anyway I didn’t ask much he just said he has worked with women in her situation a lot and can help you navigate anything that you don’t understand or just any questions you have. I know Layla knows a lot about this and he is willing to help you too.” Carrie said to us.
“Tell him I would love to meet with him tomorrow any information or well anything he can help me with to make Layla comfortable. He can come an check on her I know I was over protective before bit I have got to know him and he has helped us a lot so I know he wants to check the incision and he legs to make a plan for her. He can come now if he wants before the meds so if he wants to give her something different he can. Sorry baby I took charge again are you ok with that.” I just nod at him they had put they babies next to me so I have one hand on them and one holding his hand. With all that is going on I know he just needs the control right now and I will let him have it.
We had a rough time to start I still had some trust issues but he showed me everyday that he would never hurt me. I see everyone coming in so that means they will be bringing the kids. I am guessing the prospects are bringing them in. I guess they need road names and patches after all they did. “I think that is fine. Since we still have a few before the kids get here and everyone is here I want to vote on the prospects being patched in. Doc for Frank, Badger for Hank, Spark for Joseph, and Speed for Ben. What do you all think? I know we would have brought it up later but we are all here now and after what Carrie said I don’t see how we wait. I ordered there cuts a while back when they told me what they wanted to do for Daniel and me.”
“I think that is a great idea beautiful. I say yes, raise your hand if you agree with the prospects joining and protectors of the kids till they chose to do something else.” Everyone in the room raised there hands and then Ox when to go get there cuts from our house. He is the one who got them and hid them from them.
As he leaves they come in with the kids and I watch as they all stand next to the cot Frank who always seems to be in charge asks “can we set the kids next to you by your legs. We talked to them and they know about your stomach being hurt and they know not to pick up the babies.” I nod and they put them down.
They lightly hug my legs and I pat there backs “I love you babies. Where you good for them while I was asleep and daddy was keeping me and your brother and sisters safe?”
Sam is the first to answer “yes mommy we made pictures and put them on the wall in there room so they could have decorations all our grandmas helped while the grandpas set up something for baby Taylor in all the rooms. We promised to tell you guys if it runs out of water. They said it will help with her breathing. They also said she was tiny and needed extra help.”
Amelia is 13 but she broke her leg last week learning how to ride a motorcycle on the compound. She hit a patch of rocks and skid she had been doing great but she had a choice not to hit a kid who ran out. It was a little boy who’s family works for us in the gardens we have for our produce shop. He seen his dad across the field and took of running before anyone could see what was happening. She almost had him she seen as soon as he darted but he was just a little to fast. Amelia did the right thing she didn’t mind getting hurt to protect the little boy but they guys help her when it becomes to hard to walk with her crutches. One of her hands got hurt too so she cant use a chair either. They don’t mind. They love them just as much as they do the new babies.
“Mom they said I could take the cast off my hand tomorrow since it healed faster then they thought so I can use your old chair till my leg is better so I can help you more. My leg still needs the full 6 weeks but they said my hand must have just had a fracture but with all the damage they couldn’t tell when it first happened. Also dad had Doctor Tony look at my leg and he said the nerve damage is fixable and his partner can fix it. He said from the scans he seen it is just got scare tissue on it that needs removed but its not causing damage just makes putting pressure on it. That will only take a week to recover from because its only a 1 inch spot at my ankle. The doctor he talked about sounds like a good doctor.” She kissed the babies and seen they had they blankets she made them with there names on it on them and she smiled. Sam added his hand print to it since he can’t do the rest but they were amazing. “Mom I didn’t know you brought the blankets with you.”
“Of course we did Amelia you made them for them and what better to take them home in the blanket their brother and sister made them in. When winter comes we will put the thicker ones on them that you made.” She smiled and Sam copied her and kissed them while she made sure he didn’t fall over with Franks help.
“Did you guys get the presents I sent you all as a congratulations on being a big sister and brother?” Dragon asks and now I know he did something stupid. That damn grin on his face says it all.
