Chapter 32 Can we talk?.........No!
"It is not about that!" I interrupted her. "We do not even... we have not done anything like that." I closed my eyes, knowing she would only make fun of me more.
Vanessa's mouth fell open. She was silent for a second, and then she started to laugh, a wild, crazy sound.
"Oh, baby. You are so fucked," she said.
"You are telling me," I said with a shrug.
"So what is happening with you two?"
"We are just spending time together. We mess around. But she has this rule about no sex."
Her mouth dropped open again. "That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard." She shook her head slowly. Then, she tilted her head and looked at me. "...No wonder you are so tense."
Vanessa stood up straight and walked over to me. Her hands were on my chest again, then moving up to my neck. She leaned in close, her voice a seductive murmur in my ear. "Let me help you."
Before I could refuse, she was on her knees, unbuttoning my jeans and pulling them down, along with my boxers. Everything was moving too fast, and for some reason, I could not make myself stop her. Vanessa licked her lips and placed a soft, wet kiss on the tip of my cock. Her tongue moved around me and I felt the heat rush through my body.
Fuck, I need this.
With my teeth clenched, I grabbed a handful of her hair, holding her head in place. Vanessa understood, and she began to suck, taking my dick deep into her mouth, as hard and as deep as she could. I threw my head back, closed my eyes, and felt the pressure building as she worked me over and over.
Shit.
This entire situation with Saraphina has left me frustrated as hell. Any guy in my position would be. I guess I needed this more than I realized.
Fucking hell.
Vanessa moved her head up and down, licking and moaning around my length. Some part of my brain was trying to warn me, but I shut it all out and focused only on the release I was desperate for. And finally, with a rough groan, I came inside her mouth. Vanessa swallowed and licked her lips, smiling up at me like she had won a prize.
And it was at that exact moment I heard the sound of a car engine pulling into the driveway.
Saraphina
The wedding chores with Louisa took forever. By the time we turned onto our street, my heart was doing that frantic dance again. I was always both eager and anxious to see Ryan. I did not understand how that could be; I thought the newness would have worn off by now.
Could this be more than just a crush?
"I wonder who that car belongs to," Louisa said, pointing to a red sedan parked in front of our house.
I did not care about any visitor; it was probably a friend of Clement's. All I wanted was to run inside and see Ryan's handsome face. I had not seen him all day, and I missed him so much it hurt.
I was practically skipping as I rushed to the front door. But my happy feeling vanished the second I stepped inside. I was not ready for what I saw.
Ryan was standing a few feet away, without a shirt, which was normal. That was not the shocking part.
The shock was that he was pulling Vanessa down the stairs behind him. Her blouse was ripped open, and her bright red lipstick was smeared. I looked at him, then at her, then back at him. And then I saw the smudged red marks on his neck and along his jaw.
"Ryan, I did not know you had company. Vanessa, right?" Louisa said, coming in behind me.
"Hello, Mrs. Williams," Vanessa said, turning to Louisa.
"Call me Louisa. Technically, I am not Mrs. Williams yet, but I will be in a few days," she said with a light laugh.
"Right. Congratulations on the wedding," Vanessa said, smiling a smile that did not reach her eyes.
"Thank you. Will we see you there?" Louisa asked warmly.
"I am not sure. Maybe if Ryan invites me as his guest?" Vanessa turned to him, giving him a playful poke with her elbow.
I wanted to slap that stupid look right off her face.
"You should invite her," Louisa cut in before Ryan could speak. "You two make such a lovely pair, do not they, Saraphina?"
I could feel a burning fire in my chest. My legs felt unsteady and I was grinding my teeth. Ryan looked at me, and I hoped he could see the pure rage in my eyes.
"Yeah. Totally," I said, my voice flat and empty.
"Then it is settled! I will see you at the wedding, Vanessa," Louisa said, sounding delighted.
"Thank you. I am honored," Vanessa said again, with that same fake, plastic smile.
I could not stand there for another second. Without saying a word, I pushed past Ryan and ran up the stairs.
"Saraphina!" I heard him shout after me, but I did not stop.
"She is probably just worn out. We have been gone all day," I heard Louisa explain to him.
I slammed my bedroom door shut and locked it the moment I was inside. Tears were already falling down my face as I threw myself onto my bed.
Ryan was with her... They came from his room... Her shirt was torn... Did they?
A sharp, sick feeling twisted in my gut as the tears kept coming. I felt fragile and shattered. I hated this. I hated what I was feeling.
Why do I feel this way? Why am I crying?
Ryan and I are not really together, and whatever this was between us was going to end soon anyway. We never said we were in a relationship, and we never will be. Ryan knows that. This thing is over, and he was just getting a head start.
I should not be this upset over it. I have no right. We are not anything to each other. And this was all just nothing, anyway...
Knock Knock
"Saraphina..." I heard his voice through the door, followed by more knocking. "Can we talk?"
I did not answer. I buried my face deeper into my pillow.
No, Ryan. We do not need to talk. Not anymore.
