Chapter 171

*DEBBIE KENDALL POV*

I'm in James' arms, being rushed into the hospital, he passes through reception and advances to the place where they were waiting for me with a stretcher, he puts me on it and walks me to the room where I will have our son. I feel the contractions every minute at short intervals, and I mumble in pain with bated breath.

“Remain calm, beautiful, our baby is going to be born!”

We went through the door and I soon saw several nurses on standby, I didn't observe much as I was focused on the pain. I saw the woman take off my clothes and put on an apron, my hair was tied up, and the doctor opened my legs and observed the dilation, I was ready for my son to come into the world, but I wasn't ready yet. Everything came as a whirlwind of emotions, suffering from the lack of affection and love from my mother, knowing that I was the result of rape, and now my son is being born, this is too much for me.

“James, I’m scared,” I spoke with a broken voice, pushing again.

“I’m here, my love, you’re not alone!” James turned to the doctor and asked, “It’s not time yet, is everything okay?”

“It is normal for the baby to be born before the expected time, your child is born now.”

I pushed once more, and I felt like my entire being was breaking in half, I pushed and screamed in pain, I could hear my screams outside, and this lasted an eternity. James held my hand, distressed and anxious for the baby, then, after exerting a lot of strength, I heard that loud cry echo through the room, I just took a deep breath and put my head on the pillow. The doctor cut the cord and approached the baby, James looked at him fascinated.

“Congratulations, he’s a healthy boy.” She said, before placing her in her father's arms.

He held the little being in his arms with great care, looked closely at his little face, and smiled emotionally.

“Hi baby, this is your daddy...” he approached me and introduced me to the beautiful boy. “That’s your mommy.”

James placed the boy in my arms and I could closely see his beautiful face, his eyes closed to the bright light that he was not used to. I put my hand on his head and kissed his forehead, he was beautiful, he was perfect.

"Hello my love," I spoke to him, as if he recognized my voice. He gave a small toothless smile, it melted my heart.

After the introductions, the doctor took him to the incubator and explained that because he was born before his due date, she told him that he would spend a few weeks in the hospital. Some time later I was sent to a room for observation for a few days. Alisson and Kevin were notified by James, they came immediately. In the room, while I was already lying down and recovering my strength, they walked through the door and came to meet me.

“Wow, we were notified at the last minute...are you okay?” Alisson asked worriedly.

“I’m just counting the times I come to the hospital.”

“Don’t even tell me…” Kevin also commented. “And the boy, where is he?”

“It’s in the incubator, in the neonatal room,” James replied.

There wasn't any time to take me to the hospital, everything was so sudden and the only thing that went through James' mind was to help me quickly. Alisson stayed by my side throughout the night, while Kevin and James tried to keep an eye on the baby.

“But tell me, how do you feel? Has the idea that you are now a mother fallen to the wayside?” Alison asked.

“Yes, actually I can’t believe that there is a small being that depends on me.”

“I know what that feeling is like, I felt the same way when I had Esmeralda. How did this happen?"

“I was having a disagreement with James over the last few weeks. Soon he supported me and when he was going to show me the plan of our boy’s room, my water broke.”

“Wow, but have you decided yet?”

“I believe so, I guess.”

“Do you already know what name you’re going to give?”

“I haven’t had a chance to discuss it with James yet.”

A while later James brought me clean clothes and some sanitary accessories that I would need for a long time. A day later my breasts started to drip from so much milk, a few times I was taken to where my son was, and I fed him directly, I even had to use a pump to pump and reserve his food. The first contact was magical and intimate, I felt strange doing that, but seeing that I was satisfying my baby's, my son's hunger, I felt a whirlwind of feelings, good feelings.

“What name do you want to give him?” James asked as he approached us while feeding him.

“How about Ithan?”

“That’s a beautiful name, Ithan Smith.”

A few days passed and I was discharged, I returned home and with me only the small suitcase that James had packed, little Ithan needed to stay in the incubator for longer, I knew it was for his good, but it broke my heart. not be around. James was in charge of organizing the entire room, for him it was no sacrifice, he was as happy as I was.

“Are you helping with the painting, dear?” I asked when I saw him covered in paint.

“I want the room to be ready as soon as possible. What are you doing here? You should be in bed.”

“I needed to move my legs.”

“I wanted to move with you in another way...” James approached me and kissed my lips.

“For now I am strictly prohibited from doing so.”

“I know how to wait, once you recover you won’t escape!” He slapped my ass and went back to painting our baby's room.

Weeks passed and I soon received great news from the doctor, letting me know that I could finally pick up my baby. James picked him up immediately. I waited anxiously in our room, I walked from side to side waiting for him to come through the door, I heard it unlock and that beautiful package on his lap approached me, when I saw him sleeping with a pacifier in his mouth I melted with joy. love, I quickly put it in my arms and nine.

“I can’t believe you’re here...”

"Me neither."

"It's the room?"

“It’s ready, the only thing missing is it.”

We walked to our baby's room and I saw the great enchanted wonder, the huge white rug with a little rocking horse, the walls painted blue with beautiful drawings of planes and clouds. the large dresser with its changing table, lamp, and toiletries, all in their rightful place. I slid out a part of the dresser and saw beautiful pieces of clothing, caps, and socks, I was dying in love. I approached the black crib, the gray sheets and white pillows, the large white musketeer decorating everything, apart from the breastfeeding chair with a stool.

“You thought of everything,” I said, while a silly smile graced my lips.

"All for you." Was the only thing he said, before getting behind me and hugging me. I rested my head on his chest.

“I love you, James.”

"I love you too pretty girl."
