Let's have an heir
“Elena, for the love of God, can you please stay back? Don't go to the hospital, I beg you!” Uncle Leo stepped in front of me before I could reach the main door.
“Please, let me go. I need to see Tracy…”
“And for what? Her child's already dead. Tracy already blames you for it. Showing up there won't fix anything. Just stay here, please.”
“But…that's the problem, Uncle Leo. The fact that Tracy already blames me for the death of her child. I need to clarify that with her. I need to talk to her.”
“You already know Tracy isn't the type to talk! If she sees you there, she's gonna go nuts. She'd shriek and wanna fight. She'll wanna have you arrested.”
“But I didn't do anything!” I snapped. “And hiding here only makes me feel guilty for what I certainly didn't do. Everyone is gonna think I'm guilty, too, because I chose to hide here. But if I go out there and face them, if I tell the public my side of the story, they might understand me…”
“What about Vince? What about his request that you shouldn't step out of here? He's not gonna understand if he finds out that I let you go visit Tracy at the hospital.”
I folded my arms, giving him a pinned look. “Who's gonna tell Vince?”
“Well, me, of course. I have a responsibility to watch over you, and I'm bound to give him feedback.”
“You're being ridiculous,” I scoffed, trying to take a step, but he blocked me again.
“Don't be so stubborn, Elena. Please. There's every chance you might run into Trent. The child was his. He's definitely gonna visit Tracy soon. What's gonna happen if you come face to face with him?”
The thought of seeing Trent again sent chills down my spine. It wasn't something I was wishing to happen.
But that doesn't mean I shouldn't go see Tracy either. I need to…
“Elena!!”
I froze at the voice. Thinking of him must have made me start hearing his voice randomly. Because there was no way in hell he came here.
But then, Uncle Leo looked shocked. Did he hear it too? Did he also hear Trent's voice that'd echoed in my head?
“Elena! Come out here now!”
“What is that little son a bitch doing in my Pack?” Uncle Leo hissed, going to take a peek outside through the window.
I was frozen in the spot where I was standing. Uncle Leo returned to my side and touched my face with an anxious smile.
“Go inside, hmm? I'll go answer him. You don't need to—” the sound of a gunshot interrupted him. I gasped.
One of Uncle Leo's men ran inside, looking hysterical.
“What's going on? Who shot that gun?” Uncle Leo asked him.
“Alpha Trent did. He just killed one of our men.”
“What?” I was shaky.
“If you don't bring Elena out, I'm gonna shoot you all!” Trent's voice echoed in our ears. “And if you dare hurt me, you know what's gonna happen!”
“Elena, go inside.” Uncle Leo insisted, giving me a soft push.
“What? No! He's gonna kill everyone outside there —” another deafening gunshot sound had me almost shrieking.
“What do we do? He's really gonna kill all our men.” The man who ran inside was panicking.
Uncle Leo had gone miserably cold. He might not admit it, but his hands were tied right now. He might be brave and all, but he wouldn't wanna have a face-off with Trent. A lot of things could go wrong.
I think the only person who can actually challenge Trent is the man who give birth to him. Just Vince.
I took another step heading for the door, and this time Uncle Leo didn't stop me.
But right before I opened the door, he caught my arm. “Don't let him break you. And don't worry. I'll inform Vince about this. He'll save you from him.”
I nodded, forcing a smile. He opened the door, and I stepped out. My stomach rumbled at the sight of the two men Trent had shot. They were lying dead in their pool of blood.
My gaze went to Trent, and my legs trembled. He looked vicious. Unhinged. And he was pointing the gun at me. For a second, I dreaded that he was gonna shoot me.
But he didn't. He stepped backwards and then opened his passenger door.
“Get in.”
I gulped hard, forcing my legs to move closer to the car. I slid inside, and he shut the door.
My teary eyes found Uncle Leo's, and the distress in his eyes broke my heart. Still, he managed to flash me a reassuring smile.
Trent turned on the ignition, revved the engine to life, and drove out of the compound.
We got to his Pack and to his house after a two-hour ride.
He stepped out first, still fuming with a dangerous rage. He opened the door for me and I stepped out.
He held my wrist in a crushing grip and began walking inside with fast, long strides. I was almost tripping behind him, but he didn't care.
“Where are you taking me?!”
“Shut the fuck up!”
We went up the stairs and into our bedroom. He slammed the door shut and let me go roughly. I landed hard on the floor with my stomach. The hard collision sent a sharp pang to my spine. I muffled my wince.
My wrist was hurting like hell. And the beastly rage in his eyes showed he wasn't done hurting me.
“What is the meaning of this, Trent?!” I was holding back a sob.
“You killed my fucking child!” He thundered, pointing an angry finger down at me. “What the hell, Elena? How could you be so cruel?!”
“I didn't do it. I didn't mean to…”
“The fuck you didn't!” He bellowed, making me shudder. “I thought you didn't wanna carry my child. I thought you didn't give a fuck about me and you just wanted to comtinue being my Father's whore. Why the hell did you hurt the child?”
“Tracy came at me first…!”
“Yeah, and you had to kill her child. Jealous much, Elena? Huh? You didn't want Tracy giving me an heir? The thought of that didn't sit right with you?!"
“What?” Tears viciously blurred my vision. “That's not true…”
“It doesn't matter. I never wanted her to be the mother of my heir to begin with. I always wanted to have it with you. So I guess you had nothing to be jealous of.”
He scooped me up and threw me hard on the bed. I sat up quickly, growing feverish as I saw him undoing his buttons.
“What are you doing, Trent?” I was barely audible.
“Let's have an heir, Elena. You already killed mine, I think you owe me another. Don't you agree?” He ripped his shirt off and his angry fingers attacked his belt.
“No, Trent, leave me alone!” I stood from the bed, trying to make a run for it.
He caught my hand and landed a face-tearing slap on my face.
I fell face-first on the bed. But sat up quickly. Too late. He was already on the bed, forcing me down with his weight.
“Please, someone help me!!” I screamed my lungs out.
“Shut up!” He landed another slap to my face. This time, I saw them fucking stars. My God!!
“Spread your legs,” he bit out, but I kept my legs clenched together. “Spread them!” This time, his roar came with a punch to my thighs.
I let out a wild cry, throwing my head back in pain. But my legs were successfully parted, and he had already positioned himself.
He attacked my blouse, tugging on it in an attempt to rip it apart. I must be insane to still be putting up a fight at this point, but I was.
“Stay fucking still!” He banged my head against the headboard. That collision left me feeling deeply delirious until I was twirling between reality and a promising darkness.
The darkness had a soothing feeling while my reality was filled with so much pain. So I embraced the darkness, shutting my eyes as it took control of my body.
The last thing I recalled was him yelling out my name.
