Fifteen

Lucian's POV:

I have been extremely worried and concerned about Ruby's whereabouts. I had imagined so many places she could be, but none of my expectations turned out to be correct. I searched everywhere, including her friend's place and Adam's place, but no one had any idea where she might be.

After days of fruitless searching, I finally gave up and decided to focus on my business, confident that I would find her someday.

Today was the day of the Alpha's meeting, and I received a notification message from one of the elders. The meeting was held in a nearby kingdom, not too far from where I stayed.

I quickly rode to the kingdom as early as possible to avoid any charges or accusations of disloyalty. However, to my surprise, when I arrived at the meeting, I found many people already present.

I entered the meeting hall, knocking on the door and greeted everyone with a sincere apology for being late. "Good day to all the Alphas. I apologize for my tardiness," I greeted them sincerely.

As I entered the meeting hall, I was shocked by what I saw. I couldn't believe my eyes. "Could this be real?" I wondered to myself, trying to confirm what I was seeing. "Yes, it's really Ruby!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"What's going on, Lucian?" one of the Alpha heads asked, confused by my reaction.

"Yes, it's Ruby," I shouted angrily, pointing at her seated beside Tyler.

"Ruby..." the head Alpha nodded.

"Yes, Ruby! How could she be with Tyler after leaving her fiance's house and abandoning everyone, including her friends?" I replied to the Alpha, seething with anger and wanting to confront Ruby.

"Hey, stop there, Lucian! What do you think you're doing? Do you want to attack a girl under my protection?" Tyler said angrily, standing up and holding my hand.

"A girl under your protection... What are you doing, Tyler?" I responded angrily, pulling my hand away from him.

"Yes, Lucian. What's your problem with that? Do you have any business with her?" Tyler snapped at me angrily.

"Enough, both of you! How dare you show such disrespect to the council?" one of the Alpha's interjected angrily.

I was consumed by anger and couldn't control my emotions. At that moment, all I could think about was harming Tyler, but I knew it would be difficult since he had more power and influence than me. I had to restrain myself and take a step back, but I still had the right to question him about Ruby.

"How did you find Ruby, and how long have you been together?" I demanded, not caring about the presence of the council and the elder Alpha's.

"Who do you think you are to question my authority? I assure you, you'll regret this," Tyler responded angrily, holding Ruby's hand. "Please, Ruby, follow me," he said to her, leading her away.

The powerful Alpha's present forbade him from leaving with her.

"Please leave the hall for now, Ruby. I promise we will call you back when we need to hear from you," the head Alpha instructed Ruby, while Tyler was asked to stay behind.

Tyler obeyed the instruction and watched Ruby leave the hall.

As soon as Ruby exited the hall, the council ordered both of us to step forward and discuss the reason for our inappropriate behavior. Tyler and I moved forward as instructed, watching each other's faces and waiting for someone to initiate the discussion.

"You start, Tyler," one of the council members instructed, pointing at him.

After taking a deep breath, Tyler cleared his throat and began to speak. "This is unbelievable. How can this boy threaten me because of my mate

? I have seen it, and it is confirmed that Ruby is my one and only mate, destined to be with me," Tyler emotionally expressed his feelings.

"How can she be his mate after only a few encounters? Could it be that Ruby has been meeting him without my knowledge?" I asked myself, feeling confused and doubting Tyler's claim.

"No, this is unbelievable. She's my mate," I interjected angrily, unable to accept Tyler's deceitful plot to claim her as his mate. I remembered how deeply in love I was with her and how long I had tried to protect her. "How can you suddenly claim her as your mate?" I thought to myself, my eyes filled with fear.

Tyler never admitted that she wasn't his mate, and I never let go of her. After a heated argument between us, the council of Alpha's promised to resolve the matter amicably. I remained calm, observing what the Alpha's would say, even though I knew they wouldn't favor my side. I waited silently for their verdict before expressing my frustration.

"Did either of you discover her true identity?" one of the council members asked politely, looking at both of us.

Tyler and I remained silent for a moment, exchanging glances, and then he continued.

"Yes, it would be better if both of you give up on her, as she is not just a mere human. She would only be a great distraction and could potentially lead to a disaster for the entire kingdom," one of the council members stated.

I found it difficult to believe and wondered about the credibility of the information. As I was about to speak up, I held my tongue, allowing Tyler to speak his mind.

"This is unbelievable," Tyler said, expressing his confusion to the Alpha who made the statement.

"Yes, it's absolutely true. Ruby is not just a human," another Alpha replied.
