Chapter 21
Turning around, I tried to look at the person who had placed his hand on my shoulder. However, before I could turn completely, my body was held in place as the person stepped closer to me.
Feeling the sturdy chest on my back, I knew it was a man. However, I still wanted to know who the man was because the emotions that were radiating from his body were so extreme that it was suffocating me.
The warmth of the man was strangely comforting and scary. It felt like I wanted to discover this warmth and yet run away at the same time.
This power of feeling someone's emotion through touch was getting to me, and this was the first time I was getting trapped in them.
There were so many emotions in this person's touch.
There was a feeling of extreme sorrow, pain, sadness, hollowness, grief, anger. But more than that, there was a feeling of happiness in this person's touch that was suffocating me.
The hope was similar to mine. Like he was also waiting for a miracle to happen in his life. He was also waiting for a particular someone in his life who could make him feel complete. However, he also loathes the idea of love at the same time.
The amount of hate toward love and everything was so similar to what I felt that it felt like I was feeling my emotions through someone else.
Struggling through his hold as my mind was turning blank and black, I turned around to see who the person was, making him lose his grip on me. Turning around swiftly, I tried to see the person who lost his grip on me and practically ran away. However, all I was able to see was a silhouette of a person leaving the party.
He was wearing a loose black color hoodie. The dark images on the hoodie were something I was naturally drawn to.
‘‘Wait,’’ I shouted, wanting to follow him, however, before I could do that, someone held my hand, making me turn to look at Eric.
‘‘Where are you going leaving the party like this?’’
‘‘Didn't you see it? That guy held me and I couldn't even see his face. _’’ I turned around to show Eric, however, the person was long gone. There was no trace of someone like him anywhere around the party.
‘‘What are you talking about Alexis? No one was here,’’ Eric said, making me look at him confused.
What is he talking about? How can there be no person? I felt him.
‘‘I swear, someone was here,’’ I said, looking at Eric, hoping he'd believe me.
‘‘Okay fine. There was someone here Alexis. I believe you. But there were so many people at the party. How will you find that person? We all have been here with you since the beginning and none of us saw anyone holding you. We can be wrong too. If you are adamant about finding that person, let's go together, yeah?’’ He replied, holding my shoulder, concern, and confusion radiating over his body.
Maybe he is right. Maybe I am thinking too much about things. Maybe there was no one here. This Ariana was messing with my head.
‘‘You know what? Leave it. Let's enjoy the party. Maybe it was just another delusion of mine,’’ I smiled, making him smile in return before we started dancing to the beat of the song.
Maybe it was a delusion only or how did I feel so many emotions all at once? I am good at reading and feeling people's emotions. However, for this level of feeling, the person whose hand I am holding must agree to let me feel it.
The emotions I felt just now were too extreme for me.
Like the founders coming, Blake's warning, and then Eric's entrance into my life took a toll on me all at once. And now, my head is messing with me.

I had thought that there was some time before my life would get screwed by Blake as my teacher, but I didn't know how wrong I was thinking that.
Today, entering the class, the first thing that I noticed was the rare silence of my classmates. The silence that was speaking a million words. Why? Standing of me was none other than Blake, talking to the chancellor, who had a pleasant expression on his face.
‘‘Look, Alexis is here. Alexis, sweetheart, you have been appointed as his student assistant. This is the first time teaching students like this. And with his own company, it might be hard for him to handle all these things. I am trusting you to make things easy for him and help him with the kinds of stuff, okay?’’ The chancellor said, looking at me with a hopeful expression.
‘‘Sure, as you say, sir,’’ I mumbled incoherently before going back to sitting with Matt, who had an amused expression on his face, making me roll my eyes at him.
Someone is surely happy with my miseries. I thought before looking in front, where after exchanging some words with Blake, the chancellor left the class.
‘‘Hello everyone, I am Blake. You can call me Professor Blake or Mr Blake, whichever suits you. I'll be taking your microbiology class, and today, we'll be discussing the microbes that are healthy for our body and those that are not,’’ he said, making me drift away to my fantasy land, as I looked at the handsome man in front of me, teaching the students in a serious tone.
‘‘Now, who's the one ogling him?’’ Ariana asked, and I just sighed loudly in response.
After a torturous one-hour lesson, it was finally my free time and I was more than happy to leave the class. Sprinting toward the exit of the class in a flash as soon as the bell went off. I was about to step out of the room. However, before I could do that, I was called by Mr Blake, and the happy mood that I had quickly dissipated in thin air.
‘‘Can I have a moment with you, Miss Alexis?’’ Blake said, and having no choice, I smiled stiffly before nodding my head.
‘‘Enjoy your time being an assistant,’’ Matt commented, making me look at him sharply, which made him more than he already was.
‘‘What is it, Professor Blake,’’ I asked, my voice being sarcastic.
‘‘You don't like me, do you? From your expression, it seems like you hate me and would trade anything not to be in the same room as me,’’ Blake said and I don't know if it was just me, but I felt a sense of loneliness through his voice and couldn't help but sigh.
It reminds me that I've been sighing a lot these days, especially since I met Blake.
‘‘Hate is a strong word to describe my feelings toward you. I don't hate you. Dislike maybe. But not hate. Given the fact on how you can become the reason for my death or exile, I don't see a particular reason not to dislike you,’’ I mumbled before sitting in the front row, popping a candy in my mouth, I waited for him to finish his task so that we can talk about why he exactly want me.
