Chapter 173 No Hope

Chapter 173 No Hope
Lex's POV

It was almost as if I could see the fear in his eyes, and that was exactly what I wanted to see. I needed to prove to him that he was not beyond threatening and that I had the capacity to threaten him and put some fear in him like he always did with everyone.

"You should be very careful with what you say, son; you should be very, very careful because I wouldn't take it lightly with you if it was someone else saying this word to me. I would have made sure that they were behind bars and no one would be able to intercede for them, so I advise you again, son, be careful with me," he said to me, but deep down inside I wasn't ready to listen to any of the lies anymore because I knew already that there was nothing you could do to me that was going to be worse than what he already had in plan for me by getting me mated to someone I did not want to live life with.

"I used to say after Mother died I was going to finally see a side of you I never saw when she was alive. Believe me, I thought about that all those times, and each time I tried to hate you, I'd give excuses for you in my head, saying that you were going to come around one way or the other, but guess what? You never did, and I am done giving excuses for you because I can see it for myself that you can never change, Father. You are just the terrible person I had always imagined you to be.

I wish my other was not so naive; perhaps she would have left before you led her to her own very grave. I wish that she had left earlier than the time she did; maybe she should be alive somewhere in the world right now and I would have one person I could call family."

"Watch it, Lex. I am not joking with you. One more word for me, and I promise you I am going to make you go through hell and correct your senses, which seem to be on the loose right now. Are you insane?" At this point he was almost yelling at the top of his voice, but his yelling did not scare me anymore, and for a second I stared inside deeply, appreciating myself for how much I had grown in confidence and fearlessness of him.

"What are you going to do, Father? You're going to arrest me and prove to the public that you have control over everyone in your life? If you're going to arrest me and throw me into a cell where I'll be tortured for expressing my dissatisfaction with your attitude, then we should better do that right now because when I walk out of this road, I will stop considering you my father," I said to him, giving him an ultimatum, and I meant every word of what I said.

I was going to walk out of that door and forget for the rest of my life that I ever had anyone I called 'father', and the only memory of a parent I would save within me is the one of my mother. Thankfully, due to my supernatural abilities, I could easily wipe off those memories if I did not want them anymore.

"I can see that you have gone completely crazy, Lex, and I have been taking these two pet theories, so it really is. So I am going to give you a choice right now. I have the location of that girl. I have my men hanging around in that neighbourhood, and I am going to give you two choices," he said to me, and at this point I folded my arms around my chest, staring at him, wondering what the choices were going to give me and why on earth he had already added men to Lisa's neighbourhood.

"Go ahead, Mr Lexter. I'm all ears," I said to him, staring at him, waiting patiently for what his choice was going to be and why he would expect that I would pick any one of them, knowing very well that nothing good would come out from him.

"You have just two options right here, and you only have to pick one. The first one is for you to walk freely out of that door; no one is going to stop you, no one is going to say a word to you, and you can go out there and live the rebellious life you want to live. But one thing you need to be certain about is that you have the capacity to fight me because that would mean that I would fight you back-to-back, and until I win, I would make sure you never get a breathing space," he said to me, and at this moment I was a little tensed as I stared at him, confused at what his second option could possibly be if he was making such a long statement and a big deal about this one.

"And the second option, what is it going to be, Father? I am listening to you." I was a little anxious to hear what you wanted to say next.

"My second option is quite simple and would be so much to your benefit, Lex. You have to stay here, remain in this house, and be under my control, and I am going to make sure that no harm comes to that girl. In fact, I am going to make sure that she gets monetary sponsorship at the school and her family is elevated real quickly before she completes her education with our school. Doesn't that sound like something that she desperately needs right now? Tell me, Lex, what is it going to be? What will you pick? Are you going to sacrifice yourself for this girl, or are you going to walk out of that door and give a shit trying to protect her from me, which I know would be an epic failure?
