Chapter 16: The Last Ride.

Chapter 16: The Last Ride.
Monday came, then Tuesday and Wednesday.

I continued the week working and studying.

No call was made to me from the Pink Mansion.

When you're a Darling, they want you there every day, but once you become a Friend, it's all parties and favors. And from what I've heard, when you become a Diva, they act like the vampires from ancient legends in front of the mirror, so that no one can see them anymore.

I won't deny that Blake was on my mind that week.

Not just because of his pale, cute ass, but because of everything he was…

Suddenly I found myself wanting him! God! If Ashley knew about this, I would be dead. She loves him so much, it's so bad to love someone who is already loved by a friend. We feel like we're the bad guys stealing something precious from someone else.

But feelings are feelings, they don't respect anyone.

I spent Thursday sleeping, because Friday was a holiday.

I went out with some “normal” friends in the morning.

In the afternoon I spent surfing the internet, or surfing the web according to some.

Then I received a message on my phone from Solane asking if I was going out that night too.

I asked where to go, and she told me they were going out to see Blake! Ashley had certainly decided the destination of the outing and the main event of the night, seeing her “Bae”. I agreed.

I didn't even go to the Pink Mansion, I already knew where in the city they were going to meet.

This time the bikers decided to have a party in the middle of the street. I felt like I was in a cyberpunk scene, motorcycles coming and going making noises, some bikers were riding with flames on their wheels, I was afraid that it would explode, I don't know, catch the fuel tank on fire, some had flamethrowers on their exhausts.

“Relax! The boys know what they're doing.” Solane reassured me and led me through the sea of people to the group of girls, who were under a lamppost. Ashley was there, but she wasn't wearing the clothes I bought the other day. After all, preppy girls don't wear the same clothes to the same event, that's very old-fashioned! She was wearing a short red skirt, which left her long legs exposed. God! How I wish I had those legs.

Solane approached me and said: “Look who arrived! A friend!”

The others greeted me, but Ashley ignored me. She was still in a jealous rage. I didn't care. I watched the crowd, seeing those colorful and noisy motorcycles. Then the favorite of the group arrived. Like a white knight in the middle of the crowd, Blake appeared on his motorcycle. His white uniform really made him stand out from the others, giving him a majestic air.

He accelerated the motorcycle, to demonstrate that powerful engine noise, he stopped right in front of us. To Ashley's delight, who was already shouting, raising her hands happily:

“Blakeee!!! My beautiful love! Look at the new clothes I bought!”

He took off his helmet and, without any shame, replied, “It’s a bit vulgar, but it looks nice on you!”

“I’m dressed specially so we can go for a ride on your bike!”

She was already adjusting her long leg to get on Blake's motorcycle, but he stopped her and said: "Not tonight, Ashley! Tonight I wanted to take Erika Mina to ride with me around the city!"

Everyone's shocked faces were directed at me, Ashley then seemed to glare at me with her gaze.

“Why are you taking her, Blake?” she asked irritably.

“When she donated blood to me, I promised to take her riding a motorcycle, and I came to fulfill my promise. Look, Erika, I bought you this pink helmet. I don’t know much about the world of preppy girls, but I think pink is your favorite color.”

I was stunned by the situation, more so than Ashley, who was in disbelief with everything.

The helmet was really pretty. And I knew that putting it on my head would be accepting the invitation.

“Wow, Blake! That helmet is beautiful, but I think Ashley would like to try it on first…”

I tried to point the helmet out for Ashley to take, but she had her arms crossed and glared at me with her dark eyes. That scared me, even more than her vampire teeth.

The situation got worse when Blake said:

“No! I bought it especially for you, I want you to keep it, but before you leave it lying around somewhere, let’s go for a ride on both of them, I want you to feel the taste of speed, riding a motorcycle at night in the city. You’ll love it.”

Since a person sentenced to execution has the right to one last meal before dying, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to go with him, Ashley could kill me when we got back.

“Ah! Since Blake insists, then I will go, Ashley wouldn’t mind, would she?”

She was still furious, Blake saw her state, he knew how she felt about him, and he still told me: “Ignore her, and let’s go!”

I trembled! Not because I was afraid of getting on a motorcycle with a three-hundred-year-old vampire, but because I knew that the one who wanted to receive that invitation was Ashley. I put on my helmet, it was cute and smelly, I got on behind Blake, he even took my hands and said:

“You’re going to have to hold on tight to me! Hold me.”

I had to do what he told me to do. My sisters' Friends smiled with envy. Ashley, however, stood there motionless in disbelief, her arms crossed, deeply angry. Since it was my last moment alive, I hugged the white knight tightly. He accelerated the motorcycle. His engine made my legs vibrate. I felt a certain pleasure. He accelerated, and for the first time in my life, and the last, I rode a motorcycle...
